Thought you would enjoy this cool graphic/map of the solar system. It measures in distance and time in warp speed. It marks major milestones of the space race. Dogs are surprisingly well-traveled. http://www.bbc.com/future/bespoke/space_infographic

Hi Wil, Extremely well written post. Your fiction writing is definitely influencing your daily writing. The dogs' tags, the voices, the smells - it all adds up. A perfect punchline ending with Ann. But the most interesting was the vocabulary. Brewing vocabulary is very unique and yet the unfamiliar terms only made the story all the more enjoyable. Sadly, this has not always been the case. I have been reading your blog for years. I have enjoyed most the stories about your family. And the stories about your childhood when you were working on The Happiest Days were really good, too. However, when you were playing poker and posting about poker techniques it was all blah, blah, blah, blah to me. I had no comprehension of the terms and no interest in the game. This post had me suspended between two worlds - one where I was right beside you hearing the dogs, the music, the goofy voices and the other of total disbelief that I had no idea what you talking about. A mash tun, sweet wort, a hydrometer is delicate? It was all fabulous.

My computer crashed March 31st. It took all afternoon and evening to get my files off. I had to reformat and reload everything on April 1st. I was terrified. The good news is that I finally caught your TNT Leverage episode. It was so great!!! I really enjoyed it. You kept me company it the wee hours of the morning. Thanks.

So true, Wil! My favorite scene of catching an actor "acting" is with Jodie Foster in Panic Room. The scene is late in the movie. Her character, Meg Altman, must send the police away to protect her daughter. So she "pretends" to be drunk and fighting with her ex. Sitting there in a dark theatre, watching Meg "acting" I could see the little girl whose movies I followed. I started gushing like fan--"Look, it's Jodie Foster!"

Would you still be offended if Bush nominated Hilary Clinton? The President has the power to nominate anyone he wants. There are no conditions that they be qualified or have previous experience. George Washington believed that the president had complete power to appoint judges and the senate was only to advise him. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advice_and_consent This is politics, you must always keep your eye to the future. Bush's term will soon be over. What's next for the presidental race? Who is in position among the Republicans and who among the Democrats can step forward? Would you be thrilled for Hilary to have a lifelong appointment in the Supreme Court or furious that the Democrat's best presidential candidate was out of the race?
