Fair enough. Having been introduced to both of them here at Blackfive and having respected both I am not ready to choose sides in this feud.

So if he is overweight it means the threat and subsequent assault by a buddy of Grisham never happened? Some of the very same things could be said about Grisham if you have read his recent teets and statements (batshit crazy, sycophants, narcism, etc). Point being, I don't know what happened and neither do you. P.S. If this did happen the way Yon lays it out, it does not say much about Carbone that he brought a "witness" to help out.

What these challenges often miss as well is the free and reduced cost school breakfast and lunch that many of the children in the food stamp program receive.

Uber Pig, Fair enough. But in Alaska in the 80's we had not received Blackhawks yet so I have a certain amount of love for the battle taxi of the 5/327th!

Great story. Thank for postng it. However, it is amazing that the "American Forces News Service" does not realize it is 2/70th Armor Regiment, as in 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, not the "270th Armor Battalion. You would think they would know.

Topaz, No one said ALL the votes came from any one group. You made the assumption. I referred to the fact that groups that supported Obama were a large bloc of votes for Pro 8.

Topaz, I did not make it up. African American voters were out for Obama in huge numbers and overwhelmingly voted for Prop. 8. Read here: http://tinyurl.com/6yprcs This has led to protesters in using the N-word. Read more here: http://tinyurl.com/658mqw Sorry to disappoint you. And before you throw it out there, I did not say Obama supporters were the only ones doing so. The second link has a huge list of groups supporting Prop 8. As I said, the irony is rich. Especially since blacks seems to be getting the lion's share of the criticism.

"John McCain’s vision of an angry, divided, fearful America, or Barack Obama’s vision of a tolerant, united, hopeful America" Sorry Wil, but that was not John McCain's vision. That is your bias at work. You were pretty nasty towards McCain as well. Living in NC, we got to see plenty of negative ads from Obama that you may not have seen on Cali. And a lot of the left want the right to forget the Bush = Hitler and all that other crap that has been out there for 8 years. Good luck with that one. As to Barack Obama's vision, the irony of Obama supporters in California being a huge voting block for Prop. 8 is a delicious one. Perhaps the way to move forward for all of us, you included, is right at the top of your blog: "Don't Be A Dick!"

This has been a major story for over a week in Raleigh. Senator Dole has been all over the Army about it. Short story, the unit returned two weeks earlier than expected and the Garrison detachment that comes in and gets the barracks in shape was unaware that was happening. That does not excuse any of this and the Colonel who is garrison commander was raked over the coals by the media. They now consider the barracks livable but even with the mold sprayed over and the toilets flushing properly, they are just awful. So much for the obscene benefits our troops get, eh? The barracks are Koren War vintage and they are scheduled to be knocked down. Sgt. Fraley mentioned that he and his troops have painted the entire barracks three times in the recent past. New barracks are scheduled to be built environmental regs say that they have t be built in the same location as the current ones so that is delaying things. What frosts me is that the army admits they are garbage but says the soldiers will have to wait until 2010-11 for new ones. They refuse to give the troops BHA and let them live off-post instead of this dump. Seems it would cost too much money. And all teh barracks in the surrounding area are just as old and run down. The army is always doing this to their troops. 25 years ago I arrived at Ft. Richardson where we lived in barracks cast off by the Air Force when they moved into their "dormitories". Be nice if someone gave a shit about the EM's!

Blackfoot!!!!!!!! Back in the day, I served in Blackfoot Company when it was B co. 5/327 (172d LIB) and B co. 2/17 (6th ID). Not too long after I left, 2/17 became the 1/501 PIR. Good to see these troopers adding to the legacy of B Co. Their heroism makes me proud that I share a tiny part of the Blackfoot legacy. They are doing far more than i ever did.
