Blog: oof! blog! argh!
In the first interview he has given in almost 225 years (my math may be off here), Bill Waterson manages to say nearly nothing. Asked about the legacy the strip has left behind: Well, it's not a subject that keeps me up at night. Readers will always decide if the work is meaningful and relevant to them, and I can live with whatever conclusion they come to. Again, my part in all this largely ended as the ink dried. As for why people loved that toe-headed kid and his stuffed tiger so much, he basically shrugs his shoulders: Readers will...

via infosthetics.com Waiting is always a lot easier when you know how long it's going to last. As explained on the Eko site: Eko light is a simple yet, highly practical concept for traffic lights that not only helps preserve the environment by reducing pollution but promotes safer driving as well. Eko can be easily installed onto existing traffic light systems without much effort while significantly improving overall traffic dynamics.

When you look at the covers for the Blu-Ray and DVD versions of Julie & Julia, it's pretty obvious that there is a lot more contrast in the Blu-Ray cover. It's just an artifact of how the images were output, but I like the idea that the studios are using richer color and sharper imagery for the covers of their HD discs. I'd like to think the full-screen DVD cover would have black bars on the side.

via markthink.typepad.com I have vague memories of seeing many of these bands... the 90s were kind of a blur for me, to be honest. The booming economy and relief from cold war tensions were like a drug. But what was even more like a drug... were the drugs.

Blog: On the Go
I need to get my eyes checked so I was looking at various eyeglass shop locations. So I found this one: Not the most interesting, but it's got the info I need to contact them and the hours that they're open. Then there was link to their "new and improved web site". So I clicked on it and this is what I got: Oh god! My eyes are bleeding! The whole site is in Flash! There's an animated ant, shiny rainbow and text in Comic Sans! And an intro that gives me seizures! Needless to say I am so not...
