This is an excellent question. Here are a few things to check: 1. Open the Bill Layout. Go to "Section"; "Configure Layout Section". At the bottom of the pop-up window, you will see a section called "Projects". Make sure the "Projects are included on a consolidated bill" is checked. 2. Make sure all Matters associated with the Master client are using the same layout as the Master client. 3. Check Client Information for the Master Client and all Matters. Make sure the "Send Bills via Email" option is checked. 4. When Generating Bills, make sure the client selection includes the Master Client as well as all the Matters. If all these things are in order, one email gets sent to the Master client that includes invoices for all the Matters. Timeslips will email the entire lot of bills associated with the Master client. This was tested on Timeslips 2018, but it should work the same way for other versions as well. Thank you for your comment and interest in Timeslips.

One other thing to look at is how your Windows is set to default viewing .txt files. This could be the issue. Mine is set to use WordPad.

Typepad HTML Email Be sure to check the Printer Setup in Timeslips. When you are in Generate Bills, click on the printer setup icon to set what the default printer is. Also check the Windows printer default to make sure that is also set correct. Let me know if this helps. Hello Adam, Here are some brief answers to your questions: - Print only invoices that are sent by email (and vice versa). There is no way to select the "print email invoices" field when you are selecting which clients to bill. The next best thing is to create a "Custom" field where you set up whether or the client gets email invoices, mailed invoices or both. Once this is set up you can quickly export it to the appropriate clients so it is ready to use. The next time you bill, one of your criteria will be the custom field that was set up to indicate how the invoice will be delivered. You can select "email" to print only the email invoices, etc. If you are interested in learning more about setting up custom fields, see my article: The "Print to PDF" option is one of the best things Sage has done to Timeslips in many years. It actually automatically files all your invoice in a separate folder for each client. You will need to go to the "Setup" and enter the file path where you want to save the invoices. A subfolder for each client will be created under this folder. When you "Print to PDF", there is the option to "print each bill to a separate PDF in custom folders". Choose that option. When you print your bills, they are all "automagically" filed in the correct spot. Obviously there are a lot more details that could be discussed that are too lengthy for this format. When you enter the payment to the master client, have you tried clicking on the "transfer funds" button? This will allow you to transfer the payment to other invoices for projects related to that master client or place all or a portion of the payment in a client fund account for a specific project. Hi Kara, I assume you are using Outlook to send emails? If so, the "from email" is coming from the default email account that is set up in Outlook. In Outlook, click on "File". Select Account Settings. The first tab is "Email". Your "default" email account will display here. This should be set to your business account. Next, click on the "Data Files" tab. This should also be your business account. In my case, I have two different business email accounts, where the default email was set to one account and the "Data Files" was defaulting to a different account. The emails from Timeslips were being sent from the account default in the "Data Files". I have no idea why it works this way, but if you have both of those settings defaulting to your business account, there should not be a problem. Let me know if this helps. Joan

Hi Mark, Unfortunately your old Timeslips 2008 is a victim of Windows 10. When Timeslips 2008 was released, Windows 10 did not exist, therefore it was never tested. The only versions of Timeslips that are supported on Windows 10 are Timeslips 2016 and 2017. I've heard that some people are able to get older versions to run on Windows 10, but most of the time there are "quirky" issues like the one you just ran into. Hi Linda, I answered you via email, but thought I would post it online as well in case others are interested. The "insert" button that was found when you went to "Setup/Abbreviations" is no longer available as you stated. The good news is that you no longer need to go through that lengthy process to insert an abbreviation in your description field. When you are in the Description field in the Slip Entry, right-click and select "Abbreviations" or press CTRL+F7. When the abbreviation list appears, you can select the one you want and then click on the "Apply" button. So, while you "lost" the capability from one area, it was actually replaced with something better.
