Keep the code up to date religiously--server and extensions and system. You'll be a target for the script kiddies, and maybe some serious attacks. Every time I've left a wordpress install idle for any length of time, it gets hacked, and nobody comes to my blog. Thankfully, Wordpress makes it easy, and hopefully you're using a managed server solution.
