That's true but I hope you're not suggesting he would have been the better choice at QB. Really hope.
Draft review: Kirk Cousins
Where to begin ... Let's go with Jason Reid of The Washington Post, who calls the Cousins selection risky but necessary. "Mike Shanahan reportedly had Cousins as the third-best quarterback in the draft, behind Griffin and top overall pick Andrew Luck," Reid writes. Still, this pick may ...
And I really mean zero. Zero.

I thought he was good last year, great at times (Outback Bowl especially). If he plays more consistently like he did in the final game, I would think he'd have a good shot at the first round.

One thing we've learned is that no QB is a sure-thing NFL star. I was so sure Ryan Leaf would be better than Peyton Manning...

With you on Kerrick, he looks promising. And I hear what you're saying on Nebraska -- except for the six lopsided losses thing. The fact that Nebraska destroyed MSU in the mid-90s when it was perhaps the top program in college football and MSU was middle of the pack in the Big Ten doesn't have much to do with now. Plus, the Huskers just saw their top three defensive players, one at each level, drafted. All that said, I agree that game is far from a gimme.

Why, thank you. Yeah, on the other stuff we'll stick to things that are newsworthy.

Now there's a Floyd reference.
Draft review: Jerel Worthy
Now that it's over, what does it mean? I figured it would be a good idea to go through each of MSU's six draftees and review the reaction to each pick, nationally and in each NFL city. Here's the Green Bay Press-Gazette's profile of Worthy and story on the pick (with the revelation that ...
Good points and the Pickelman point should be made more often. He was really an unsung hero last season.
MSU winning it all? Why not?
Spring football left us with some questions answered and some unanswered, as usual. It also left me with a bit of a revelation -- based more on how people reacted to Denicos Allen than on what he said. A lot of players on a lot of teams talk about winning national titles, and most of them fall s...
Just to clarify, again, though I tried to in the post, this is not a 12-0 prediction. It's explaining why that's at least plausible. In most years over the past 40-plus, there would be two or three games -- or more -- that you could pencil in as losses on MSU's schedule. Don't read too much into it. Read it.

If I thought this offense would be nearly as potent as last season's, I'd give this team a great chance to run the table. As stated, the defense and running game must carry things early. The schedule isn't easy early, but with the first three big games all at home, MSU has a good chance to survive. And then it all has to be working to get through Ann Arbor and Madison. I'm not sure it will get there, but I think MSU will defend well enough to stay in most or all of these games. Also, how is Nebraska looking for revenge? How is Wisconsin looking for revenge?

Just daring to say: "It's not incredibly stupid anymore."

Beat me to it, thanks. And two of those quarterbacks fall squarely in the "game manager" category.

Monday morning tweets: Gholston, Cousins
Lingering concerns about Will Gholston's knee? He tweeted this today: "The knee is great love this spartan care." Feel better? Thank Twitter. Also, Kirk Cousins tweeted that he'll be on the Dan Patrick show at 10:45 this morning. A "Mr. Patrick" or two are in order, I would think. Also, a...
