I love slides. From Kodachrome 25. I live Hawaii. There are two local labs which do E6 and scanning. Most film purchases are mail-order. I work at a computer by day, so slides, albeit only 35mm, on a light table are tangible. The physicality of it all, is endearing. Or like fungus, philosophical. But what slide film and manual exposure can teach about dynamic range is most enjoyable to me. And then there's the human option, due to the film's sensitivity, it's fun to nuance emotion by choice of exposure. As far as cost goes, one doesn't need a computer or the internet for an image.
