THis is a bold move and I commend Jay for being gutsy enough to do it.
Revs trade Joseph to Chivas USA (updated)
For years, there was no player more synonymous with the New England Revolution than Shalrie Joseph, but it appears the Joseph era is ending for the Revs. According to Joseph's agent, Ron Waxman, New England is trading Joseph to Chivas USA. Waxman revealed the trade on Twitter on early Wednes...
I like the peice but this woman is a very small fraction of the music fan world, I know I could not afford a $300 ticket to any event, probably ever. I also know that people just don't come out to shows as much as they used to.
We're A Generation Of Concertgoers, Not CD-Buyers.
This is part two of my interview segment with Hannah, who is the writer behind File Sharing Represents New Generation. She could very well be the new music consumer, depending on who you ask. I found her short essay online and thought it was be an interesting take on the current happenings in ...

I say so long as they are recording the footage and airing it on YouTube/facebook/etc it's never going to truly be a bad event. Just make sure you don't mess up. I don't get to have much footage taken so when I see cameras recording I make sure to thank them and forward me the video.

An Audience With An Audience: What Digital Technologies Are Changing About Live Music
Traditionally, when journalists write about the widening of the digital divide, what they're talking about is the gap between those who have access to digital technologies and those that don't. As a recent article in The Wall Street Journal points out, that's no longer the case. In this contex...
Great read on the points of it being more hustle and more interaction with fans in their community. I've been planning a release for about 2 years now and feel I still need more time
How Technology Is Changing The Album Release
By: Greg Rollett (@g_ro) of the music marketing company, Gen-Y Rock Stars. Releasing an album or single in today’s Internet and share-happy music economy is tough. Artists spend time and money getting their song ready for the world to hear, only to have it leaked before it gets mastered, before...
This has always been the case, since when has convincing fans to burn your music been a new ground breaking idea? (1996??) this just doesn't seem relevant.
When Blank Media Costs Less Than Your Album
Chances are, blank media costs less than your album. What now? Rarely, do I get a chance to listen to an album all the way through. Writing requires different type of background ambiance; almost familiar, yet not too overwhelming. Therefore, most of the time, when I write, I either listen to ...
I Used to love having a huge cd collection but living in a small apartment in boston has made ms think about just keeping it digital, plus like you said with software like last.fm and pandora, the iPod is not all that necessary
It’s Not The Size Of Your Collection That Matters…
Or Does It? The Biggest Crisis In Music Fandom. Remember the days when you could judge a music fan by the size of their collection? When I started out, it was the matter of filling that 20 disc case. That’s like between $250-300 worth of music; a rather sizeable sum for a teenager to come up...
