Remember way back when we use to use recipe cards and recipe boxes........well I still have mine from when I was in college and first married. I have a 4 drawer library card box and use to have it on my counter for years with all my old recipe cards........rarely do I use it and its hidden in my pantry so I forget about it. I usually don't make very many with boys but I had a request at Christmas so I have made a few now with boys..........here is my latest one! Check out these girls.........after a few tips and techniques they were off..........coloring, shrinking, laughing and having a hopefully non stress class in front of them. Kind of like coloring in elementary school with colored pencils, scissors and shrinky dinks! They all did a great job and so much fun watching them color and creating something and seeing them shrink down to mini size little objects.........thanks girls you all did an awesome job! With a little Stephanie Ackerman/Tim Holtz you may come up with some fun and whimsical playing cards for your Sweet Valentine..........several years back when Stephanie was at the Paper Crown teaching one of her classes she taught this fast way to make cards out of playing cards in record time........you just start gluing on odds and ends of paper, washi tape, paint and poof you have some fun cards to tuck away in your journals, give away or tie onto a gift for a tag......sky is the limit and these are so much fun and quick to make. I had a bunch of wool scraps and thought I'd put them to good use and make these small heart squares for some lapel pins.........at first I wasn't sure if they would work but I think they will make great pins for the new holiday ahead......you can see I use a different pin on a few of them that are going vertical and they are rhinestone.....something a little different! For those of you in thursday nights Valentine shrink plastic class January 11 these are a few things you will need to bring: small pair of scissors heat gun ( preferably the shorter nozzle) mat colored pencils of your choice (I use prismacolor most of the time but I do have others so I think whatever you have will do.....make sure you have a black one and a good pencil sharpener) black archival ink pad ( most of you know I use to always use Stazon but I prefer the archival now) small acrylic block any stamps you have with... Remember this summer after our trip to Salt Lake City and I had posted about the best bakery ever...........well when the kids got off the plane Sunday they handed me a bag with two of these unbelievable Almond Croissants ..........the best you will ever put your lips on......not that I am an expert on French Pastries but I do know a good butter croissant when I bite into it and these are the best ever.........Tulie's Bakery in Salt Lake if your even near by......... Well it's been a long time coming to get these stamps out there........thanks to Angie and CIndy. Several weeks ago I sent a photo to my dear friend Nan in Salt Lake City and asked her if she had ever heard of this artist from Utah that paints these incredible gourds or where this artist shows her stuff in Utah........she said no but quickly we found out and she went to check her out and guess what we found her and Nan gifted me with this sweet Santa from the artist ........ her work is amazing and we both loved it the minute we saw these.........what a wonderful surprise and a Christmas treasure to put out every...
