Came home from Waco with one of these candles..........when Cindy started carrying these a few years back this was always my favorite! I have a HUGE problem with pretty felt and velvet........and these are just the ones that are rolled up.........there is more!!!!! Jewell's White Bread......... Of course baking always happens when it cools off and everyone is ready to pull out the pumpkins and fall decor..........so I made a couple loaves of bread and cinnamon rolls yesterday. oops........looks like someone had to have one when they were hot!!!!! We finally did it.......my first class to teach at the New Paper Crown Waco.......and what a fun and exciting evening! A class full of old and new friends. Surprised from Peachtree Georgia Maria, who was a regular class attender at the PCOKC....thanks Maria for coming all that way to attend and always being such a sweet encourager. If you are not familiar with this designer J. Wrecker Frisch, you need to check her out........she has the most unique fabric ..... my friend Becky introduced me several years ago and have been loving and using ever since. .....a couple weeks ago when I had my pattern intro party I made these name tags for my helpers........ Most of these pillows on the bench are made from her fabric except the ones on the right..... You know when you start teaching classes the student teacher relationships change, in a good way! Never do you ever think about it at the time but after years of these sweet people who keep coming back to learn and create. Yesterday I had a little get together with a few friends............Pink was the theme and good ole " Miss Girdie" made an appearance after a few months in hibernation ...... the Pink Car is finally finished and ready to cruise around in.......a long time coming and just in time for some cooler weather, since it has no air conditioner! 1973 was the year I met and married this wonderful guy.........after 2 weeks ( yes 2 weeks) I knew he was the one.........and we were engaged!!!! 45 years later he is just as selfless, humble, loving, and most of all I love he is the godly man that I married! Taking my class on the road......a first for me! I am not a traveling teacher but I am going to give it a whirl, and it will be my first time to teach with my new Punch Needle Patterns.......Class will be thursday September 6 from 6-9. All you need to do is bring your Needle if you have one and your hoop.........if by chance you don't have either Cindy will have those for you to purchase. I hope I get to see some old and new faces. I never new how much went into designing patterns.........the designing part is easy for me, it's all the technical stuff that is a headache and takes hours to work on and finalize! Thank goodness for technical friends who LOVE to do that kind of thing.......Thanks to my friend Scarlett. Well for the first time ever I finally fried up some Okra this weekend.......after reading a few of your helpful recipes left on the comments....... here is what I came up with. I first rinsed them ,then cut off the stem and ends........sprinkled some cornmeal, salt and pepper and mixed it all up. Took my electric skillet on the back porch and poured about 1/2' canola oil to cover the bottom of the skillet and turned the heat on high to get it really hot..........while I was grilling I had the Okra just frying away getting all brown and crispy........it... This just doesn't seem possible to have a 39 year old child. Time does fly but with every year we have loved being Adams parents. He is a gentle soul whether he is on the side of a rock somewhere or just sitting and talking to anyone.........Happy Birthday Son......... we love you Dad and Mom. I love it when my husband brings me home a bag full of fresh produce that was growing this morning in one of his customers gardens.........friends like that just make my day. And from this fresh produce they made some salsa to share and I can say without a doubt the best salsa I have ever put my lips on.....the fresh tomatoes and everything in it is a taste I have never tasted before...... Over the weekend we celebrated my moms 88th birthday...........my niece and brother are in town and decided to celebrate at my sisters house.......just like the energizer bunny she just keeps on going........infact she leaves this week for Washington DC to tour the Bible Museum with a group from a local church and about 80 something people. I know it will be a fun trip for her and she has never been to Washington DC..........then she will be headed to Kentucky with a friend in September...........she does keep going and we are thankful she does!
