Bizzy - What would you do if father stopped playing the son? Where to direct all this passion and feeling? In my case, since we nabbed Osama, I've taken up knitting an twitter friended Freddy Adu..
Ives! fix the reply function! Bizzy and I are having a great dialogue, but would be so much better with reply.
Americans Abroad: Weekend Rewind
By FRANCO PANIZO Make that three in a row for Maurice Edu and Rangers. For the third straight season, Edu and Rangers won the Scottish Premier League title, defeating Kilmarnock, 5-1, on Sunday to do so. Edu started and went the distance in the match that gave Rangers its record 54th Scottis...
Bizzzyyy!! Bizzy ranting about Mike Bradley on SBI is the equivalent of homeless people talking to themselves on the street in NYC. I know I'm back home, not so sure it's a good thing.

Ives - FYI, the reply function in the comments section often doesn't work, at least for me. Basically, I will sign in to typepad, click reply to someone commenting about whether MB dressing for AV to factor into his spot on the USMNT (because that's the only thing that interests me about soccer) but then no little comment box opens up, thus not allowing me to further the great convo about MB's playing time. Sometimes the box pops up and sometimes it doesn't - it's about a 50/50 shot.

photo by John Dorton/ISIphotos.com By FRANCO PANIZO Gale Agbossoumonde did something this weekend that he had not done since playing for Miami FC about a year and a half ago: he started a match at the club level. Agbossoumonde earned his first start for Djurgardens IF, and he went the distance...
Dude, I was at the Argentina game, and, you know what. Mike B was better than Jones or Edu. He had more succesfull tackles/takeaways than the other two gus combined. He's gonna start against Paraguay and it will be the right decision.
USA lands in Nashville, turns attention to Paraguay
photo by Howard C. Smith/ISIphotos.com By FRANCO PANIZO NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Less than a day after earning a 1-1 draw with Argentina, the U.S. men's national team arrived in the Music City to prepare for its second-to-last friendly before the 2011 Gold Cup. The United States did not train on Sun...
Absolutely, it goes without saying that Mikael Yourassowsky is the man. Totally agree with you on that.
SBI MLS Player of the Week: Juninho
In one of the easier selections we'll have to make, Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Juninho was chosen as SBI's MLS Player of the Week for Week 1 of the MLS season. Juninho was the easy choice after scoring a pair of goals to help the Galaxy post a season-opening 1-0 win against Seattle and a ...
Agreed as to Paraguay (and FIFA ranks us ahead of them). Hard to argue that we should be ranked ahead of Slovenia, given that we failed to beat them at the WC (FIFA system doesn't care that the ref stole the game).
Russia and Greece? It's a close call. We did better in the WC than both (Russia didn't event make it), but both Russia and Greece have been solid performers in Europe over the last decade. And really, other than beating the teams we are supposed to beat, what have we done to warrant a higher ranking? Other than Spain in the confed cup and Mexico in one home game in qualification, what top shelf opponents have we actually beaten?
You have to beat the best to be the best.
And pounding on CONCACAF teams is, unfortunatly, not beating the best. 19 in the world is nothing to be ashamed of, and I don't think too far off.
USMNT down to No. 19 in FIFA rankings
Photo by ISIphotos.com The latest FIFA rankings are out, and the United States has dropped a spot. The Americans swapped spots with France to move from 18th to 19th in the world. Over the last month, the United States had its scheduled friendly with Egypt cancelled, while France defeated Brazi...
Some are saying Cann is in the wrong -- I disagree. The contract is a legal document that gives him certain rights and obligations. If he wants to hold-out and risk a contract dispute, that's not necessarily "wrong." $65k is crap for a professional athlete, and this one doesn't have many playing years left. If he thinks this tactic might get him more money, than, well, I would do the same thing if I were in his shoes. Sometimes you do have US athletes holding out for unwarranted and absurd somes in a way that is tasteless. That's not the situation here.
Cann leaves Toronto FC camp
Photo by ISIphotos.com Toronto FC has been down this road before. After Dwayne De Rosario voiced discontent with his contract situation last season, defender Adrian Cann has reportedly left TFC training camp, unhappy with the current status of his contract negotiations. According to the Toront...
Thanks for clarifying Jose! I put way more stock in your impression than some coach whose hyping his team.
Imposing forward Salgado making strong preseason impression for Whitecaps
Photo by Jose M. Romero By JOSE M. ROMERO Early impressions of the No. 1 overall MLS SuperDraft pick, Omar Salgado: The kid can play. His height stands out immediately. At 6-foot-4, any defender is going to have a hard time with him in the box, even the most physical centerback, because he has...
The quote from the coach was about Salgado's stint last year, not the pre-season. The impressions very well could be from the head coach, but they could also be from luke skywalker. Unless on super-secret background, a journalist should cite his sources.

Yes, you are competely off-base. Your speculation that Sunil just sat on his hands, or bears any fault in any of this, are the deluded imaginings of a twisted mind. There's massive freaking unrest in Egypt that, to my knowledge, no one predicted, and, as such, a soccer game was cancelled. Sometimes, bad/crazy things happen, and there's no simple explanation or one person to blame.

Love it. that would be tight one, but I give the WC starters the slight edge cause they have our three best players: dempsey, donovan and Howard.

Miller rides career turnaround into USMNT invite
BY ADAM SERRANO Ryan Miller's name isn't one many would have expected to receive a U.S. national team call-up a month ago, but considering how far he has come in his career over the past two years, nothing should come as too much of a surprise. Miller is currently in camp with the United Sta...
