Congratulations on finally returning home to WWDN! It was back in the early days of you settig up your blog and forums that I started to follow you. Seems like lightyears ago now. Somwhere I even have a WWDN postcard. Here's to the next 12 years!
Treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home.
In 2001, blogs were very new things. In fact, as much more time was spent arguing talking about what blogs even were, and where they fit into the media landscape than was spent actually, you know, writing in them. In fact, I don't even think the word "blogging" existed back then, and whenever it...
I'm so pleased RFB is back!!!
I have become addicted to Game of Thrones. Some excellent acting talent in that show. It's filled the gap while Doctor Who is on his holidays.

There's a new episode of Radio Free Burrito
These puppies want you to listen to Radio Free Burrito. So from time to time, I make this stupid podcast called Radio Free Burrito. It's this thing that I do because it's creative and entertaining to me, and is an easy way for me to amuse myself and hopefully share some interesting things ...
Looks like a nice solid 1500. Don't see many of them around my neck of the woods. I've had both a 1302 and a 1303s and then later a 1971 type 2 bus. I'm a little obsessed with anything air cooled. Good pic!
Seems legit...
I was driving around Burbank today, and went past this Cash Cab: Seems legit.
I hope what ever it is you are working on is super awesome and makes you want to squeal!
Good News, Bad News
I've been seeing lots of messages on Twitter and Facebook from people who are really excited to come see me tell stories and perform at the upcoming Denver Comicon. I love it that so many people are excited to see me do my thing... and I feel terrible that I have to cancel my attendance this yea...
I hope this will be available over here in the UK. If not I'll have to go shopping at the next US con! Well done Wil! You've travelled such a huge creative journey over the last decade. Books, comics, tv shows, the web..Infact you are the most creative person I know. It's great seeing you reap the rewards for all your hard work. And I simply adore Tabletop!!!
Julian
in which i have a realization, and i am grateful
In the precious few moments I had today between work-related responsibilities, I stopped into my comic shop, and I saw this: I made this! I've been so busy, and I finished my part of this project so long ago, I wasn't prepared for how proud and excited I was when I saw a book that I had wr...
I'm so glad you loved Australia. It's my favorite place on Earth! I'm just getting ready to leave for Heathrow. See you in Calgary!
My trip to Australia was amazeballs
I am home from Australia, and only mostly dead exhausted. Go me! I'm too tired for a proper post about the entire trip, but I'll offer a few memories and highlights: I did not meet a single unkind person the entire time I was in Australia. I realize that my sample size was quite small, but it wa...
Have a wonderful time Wil. Flying First Class I hope. I lived in Oz for a year, my most favorite of places. I hope you get a chance to look around. If you can try out the William Ricketts Sanctuary at Mount Dandenong near Melbourne.
Test Pattern
I don't know how frequently I'll update my blog while I'm in Australia, so here's a spiffy placeholder post for anyone who comes by to visit while I'm away. Here's my Twitter. Here's my Tumblr. Here's my Facebook. Here's my new show, Tabletop. Here's Radio Free Burrito. Here's WIL WHEATON BOOKS...
Everyone needs a Geek Uncle. I've been collecting signed photos for my 2 year old nephew since the day after he was born. I just hope he likes Star Wars when he's older!
The Force Will Be With Him...
My nephew will be joining Team Humans sometime in July, so today we're having a baby shower for my little sister (who, at 33, isn't little, bit if you're a big brother or sister, you know what I mean.) My brother in law is awesome, even though he's Dallas Cowboys SuperFan Number One Top Guy Fore...
And I've just discovered that our paths will cross again very soon, all being well. time to brush up on your Who!
JCCC2: in which I "sing" Karaoke on a boat.
So this is a thing that happened. It has everything Karaoke should traditionally have: not-very-good singing, not-very-good dancing, fucking up of lyrics, and the obligatory small glass of magic juice* responsible for the entire thing. Enjoy... if you dare: On our performer mailing list, John H...
The guy at the end in the black jacket with the white piping has stepped out straight from 1976!

in which a suitcase is packed
Tomorrow morning, I'm going to get into a giant aluminium tube and fly across the continent to America's Wang. Then, on Sunday, I'll get on a boat and spend a week doing nerdy stuff with nerds in the middle of the ocean. It should be pretty awesome. Earlier today, I folded my laundry, and put it...
I guess by now you will have had your audition. I hope it went well. I look forward to hearing about it some time in the future.
Julian
in which i have an audition for a feature this afternoon
I composed a post in Firefox all about how I have this awesome audition this afternoon. Then, when I tried to publish it, Firefox hung for ten minutes before it crashed. I've been spoiled by stability, so I didn't do the ctl-c that was so pretty much automatic a few years ago... so here's the tl...
Wil, it's not quantity, but the quality that counts. I still love what I read on your blog. That's why I'm still here after 10 years!
it's just this dream he keeps having
There's a moment every day when I think, "I should have written about that in my blog," but then I realize that instead of planting the seeds that would grow into a story, I put them in boxes on a shelf called Twitter, or Tumblr, or Google Plus. They're nice seeds and all, and they look great in...
I had to Google Maps that to see for myself if it was real. Who ever named that set of streets must have been a Trek fan. But I always though it was Riker not Ryker...or am I just being stupid? I had a look at street view, it looks like a nice neighbourhood.
I still don't know very much about brain scans...
Here are three Star Trek-themed things that have come up recently. All of them made me laugh so hard I pooped a little, so they need to be preserved here for the ages. First, from Jimmy James, Inc: For the record, Wesley's dance crew was called Jiffy and da Popz. Next: Last night, Paul of Pa...
Wil That was awesome! 'karen Gillan's underpants!' I can't tell you how proud I am of you for becoming such a Doctor Who aficianado nerd! Also how jealous I am of you for taking part in the Matt Smith and Karen Gillan panel at Comicon! Perhaps, maybe one day the Grand Moffat will find a role for you in our most favorite of nerdiest TV shows.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Julian
it's a festivus miracle
If you can't watch the embedded clip, you can see it here. You can see the whole thing on the Nerdist Holiday special, Christmas Eve on BBC America.
Hey Wil. Where did you get that T shirt from? I love it!
in other words...
Marketing email I just got: "Do you ever wonder which apps influencers (like yourself), celebrities, or Jersey Shore castmates have on their phones?" My response:
I can't wait to see this episode with you and Brent! When ever it reaches the UK.
I am literally playing The Dead Meemaw Card so that you'll watch me on The Big Bang Theory tonight.
Yes, I am literally playing The Dead Meemaw Card so that you'll watch me on The Big Bang Theory tonight.
I've been reading your blog for 10 years! I can't think of many things I've done for 10 years. Where did that decade go?
Here's to the next 10 years!

So, while I'm putting together the last few things I need to take to PAX, I realized I forgot to mention something: ten years ago yesterday, I started my blog at WWdN*. Ten years ago today, Metafilter declared that it was "lame,"** and most of the Internet was really shitty to me about the whole...
Wil. When one door closes another shall open!
Saying goodbye to Eureka
Last year, my friend Amy told me she was moving from writing Leverage to writing Eureka. She asked me if I was interested in playing a scientist who was kind of a jerk. I said "yes" as fast as I could, and ended up playing Doctor Isaac Parrish for seven of the ten episodes in season 4.5. When se...
Have a great time at SDCC Wil. I really want to try that con one day. I'm coming over for Phoenix Comicon next year!!!!!
How can people not shower every day??? Con or no Con!
being a geek is about having a great community
In a couple hours, I'm heading down to San Diego for the craziest, most exhausting, most awesome four days of the year: Comicon. Earlier this morning, Felicia and I were Google Plussing about how to survive the con. I'm assuming some of you are not among the eleventy billion people who have the ...
I will be ordering that today!
Is this something you can share with the rest of us Amazing Larry?!
Anne went to bed before I was tired last night. Being a good husband who doesn't want to get The Wrath, I opted to head into my office on the other side of the house to watch a little TV before I went to sleep, instead of sitting in our bed and watching TV there. (Yes, we live in a house that is...
Wil I **LOVE** that Timelord T shirt design! If that sells well at Phoenix please sell it from your website. Have a great time PCC is my favorite con in the World!!!

My 2011 Phoenix Comicon Schedule
This weekend, I will be at the Phoenix Comicon. I think this is my third or fourth year attending, so I've been able to watch the con expand (the vendor's area this year could hold the entire con the first year I attended) without losing its soul, or all the things that make it awesome. I am qui...
I've always wanted to visit LA. Good or bad, I see it nearly every day on tv or on the internet. I'd like to feel it for myself.
we are all going to reseda...
This came into my mind recently: When viewed from the sky, the sprawling neighborhoods that make Los Angeles are a series of small grids, linked by freeways and divided by boulevards into larger grids. When you fly into Los Angeles at night, it's like looking at a circuit board, traffic flowing...
Maybe a Guinness?
this post is titled Laika for some reason
When I started my blog almost ten years ago, I made a dedicated effort to write something new every day. I figured that it was good practice for me as a level zero writer, and I also knew that the only way to keep readers engaged was by providing new content all the time. As the years rolled by,...
Reading some of the comments here gives me the impression that some readers think this may be the end. Maybe you have reached a point now in which you've evolved beyond your blog. I hope you do indeed keep a presence here on your website. Your stories have given me so much amusement and entertainment over the last decade. From a personal point of view, you and your blog entries made me rediscover conventions, and that has started me on a whole new adventure in my own life.
It has been a total privilege watching your career develope and succeed over the years. Long may it continue!
