Gen- I'm glad we've stayed connected through fb, but you're right. It just isn't the same! Now that I'll be on here, it will remind me to check out Dante and Dorian's adventures over at your place! Meg- How is it that we are cousins and not twins? Some strange trick of fate? Though if we were this similar AND looked alike, it might be a bit too much. ;) Love ya!

I've spent a good bit of time away from the ol' blogging world. I felt like JustJessie had become a monkey on my back, wasting my time and sapping creative energy. As it turns out, I was wrong! The more time I have spent away from this site, the less time I have spent behind my camera. I've spent less time recording the precious and funny things my boys do. I've spent less time being creative with them, because (sad as it may be) I enjoy doing those things, in part, because I enjoy sharing them here with you. So,... Continue reading

For Grant's birthday Saturday, his cousin gave him the Lego Batman Wii game. While it hasn't caused quite the level of excitement as Lego Star Wars did (thank goodness), it has inspired them to play something different for a change.... Continue reading

Ariz- Thanks, girlie! The lightsabers were great, because the kids beat each other up with them all day, and it didn't hurt! And yes, I did make the cloaks. Maybe I got my inspiration from a certain Aussie who has been sewing for weeks for a musical? AFM- Thanks! I guess you saw first hand the stress and excitement that go into a cool kids' cake. Zach's "digger" cake was great. :) You should have seen us trying to get it from our house to the church!

How does it happen so quickly? How has my sweet, blond-headed, baby boy turned four years old already? I don't think I'm ready for him to be so big! I cherish the "littleness" that is left in him... The sweet... Continue reading

How can a small thing like fifteen degrees make such a difference? It's not a terribly significant change. Well, unless that change is from 95°F with ridiculous humidity to 80° with hardly any. We have spent mornings outside and still... Continue reading

What a beautiful post. :) I've been coming here for the past couple of years, and I can't believe how big Calvin is now! He suddenly looks almost like a teenager in your pictures! And can I just say that I'm completely jealous of your garden right now? Our garden plot is practically a bog right now, we've had SO much rainfall this spring!

Happy Birthday, Amanda! How is it that I've been reading here for over two years, and I didn't know you share my little one's birthday? I knew he and your Lady A's birthdays were close, but somehow this slipped by me. Have a wonderful day and enjoy those extra moments of sweetness throughout!

That's awesome. I didn't talk about earth day, but we spent the day working in my parent's garden and then planting flowers at home, so I guess that counts. :) This is totally off topic, but that little moose in the last picture was what Jeff bought Grant when he was born. He's recently named it "mookie mookie".

My MeMaw was sick with Alzheimer's as well. It was terrible for her not to recognize us, but at the same time a lot of healing was able to take place. She lost the bitterness of her divorce from my grandfather, and he was by her side often in the end. We got to hear stories from her that had been too painful to tell before. Our connection with her came mostly through songs though. No matter how far gone she was, if we sang old hymns or her favorite "Camp Town Racetrack" she would focus on us and sing her heart out. I'm glad you're taking the time to treasure her, even though she doesn't seem to know it. I think part of her knows.

I love this idea. Grant and Grayson always have their hands into what I'm cooking. I love the idea of letting them create their own thing!

My cousin has been watching old seasons of Lost and tells me I'm missing out. We've been getting old seasons of Scrubs from Netflix, but have gotten kind of burned out on those. Maybe we should get Lost next time, but I hear it's very addictive!

Happy Easter (a day late)! Good for you for rising to the occasion and making the pants. I happen to remember them from last year too. I wish I had thought to make some for my guys. :)

Okay, you should know that when I got to that last picture it just sent me into fits. I had to call my best friend who also reads your blog and make sure she saw it! I mean, really, that itty bitty twist in her hair?! It's just too much cuteness. :)

I'm so excited for you! I wish I lived a little closer, so I could come and cheer you on. Just remember when you're speaking in front of those folks, that they are there because they're HAPPY for you! Think of them as friends who want to hear all about your book. That works for me in public speaking situations. :)

I used to have a yellow bathroom in my old house. This one has a bathroom with yellow ceramic tile... wouldn't have been my first choice! I hope you find a color you like for sure!

Oh, that's too funny. Really, you should be thankful. My boys' picks are along the lines of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. Try swallowing that down with your breakfast. ;)

Excellent idea! We have spare bits floating all around the house. I love this idea for keeping them in a wall of pockets! And the fabric/embroidery is awesome. :)
