Congratulations on your homecoming.
Treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home.
In 2001, blogs were very new things. In fact, as much more time was spent arguing talking about what blogs even were, and where they fit into the media landscape than was spent actually, you know, writing in them. In fact, I don't even think the word "blogging" existed back then, and whenever it...
Is this the origin story for the monkey you take to poker games?
It's like there's a monkey on my back. A gaming monkey, and he's rattling dice in my ear.
One more From The Vault, because I'd completely forgotten about it, and it made me laugh out loud when I read it. While Anne and I drove down the freeway today, Just Like Heaven came on the radio. "This was my first CD," I said. "I know," she said. "You tell me that every time we hear a song f...
Have any of them noticed the resemblance between Jim Parsons and Gary Oldman? And if so, have they considered giving Sheldon an "Uncle Gary?"
If you could ask the cast and creators of Big Bang Theory anything, what would it be?
This Friday, I'm moderating the Big Bang Theory panel at Comic-con. The entire cast will be in attendance, as well as series creators Bill Prady and Chuck Lorre. We only have an hour, which always goes by faster than we think, so I'm going to start out with a handful of my own questions before I...
If you follow I-10 east, you'll learn that in Florida the internets also use every part of an alligator.
in place of a title, imagine the sound of a howling wolf
I'm going to be traveling like crazy for the next several weeks, so last week Anne and I took a couple days off to have a quick two day getaway. We went out to this hotel in the desert that we like, and spent about 36 hours sitting by the pool, doing a whole lot of nothing. It was glorious. The ...
I knew I felt a disturbance in the Force ... now I know why.
Sunday at the 2010 Phoenix Comicon - Super Happy Funtimes, Eureka, Meeting Stan Lee
This is the last of three posts about the 2010 #PHXCC. If you're looking for the other two posts ... you know, I'm not going to link them for you, because I think that would insult your intelligence. You know how to find them. Sunday: I woke up Sunday feeling like Monty Python lied when they sai...
Your big adventure with Pee Wee tops the Family Guy party in my universe. Soooo cool!
Connect the dots! LA LA LA LA!
Anne and I got to go see The Pee Wee Herman show last night. It was phenomenal, and I realized about 20 minutes into the show that I was sitting on the edge of my seat, grinning and jumping around like a little kid ... because that's pretty much how I used to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse. After the...
Thanks for the memories - past and future. And thanks for letting us live vicariously through so many very cool moments.
Happy New Year!
the 2009 year in review, part six
This post is not a number, it is a free man. It also continues my 2009 year in review from part five, and concludes this obscenely long series of posts that I hope was worth the time I put into creating them. I revealed a fairly major secret, and there was much rejoicing. Yaaay. About 24 hours ...
Just to put it in perspective ... if you had a one-porta-potty-party and invited all of us, I bet we'd feel like you felt.
And while I do enjoy all of your writing, the occasional dose of entertainment industry behind-the-scenes is so very fun.
Vicariously yours ...
Something something something awesome weekend
I had a rather ... interesting ... weekend. According to Paul and Storm on Sunday, I won the game of "What I did last night" that I didn't even know we were playing. It was so surreal, I'm mostly writing this down today so I never forget what an incredible time we had. Saturday, Anne and I were ...
Wow. That was a bit Jasper Fford-ish. Thanks for the heads up.
today only ... you ... can ... get ... SHATNERQUAKE ... forfree!
When I was working on Leverage this summer, I spent quite a bit of quality time in Powell's world of books. On one of my trips into the store, I saw a little book with a fantastic cover that I knew I would be buying before I even laid a hand on it. That book was called ... Shatnerquake. I sent a...
I enjoy your podcasts and the Just a Geek audio book (With the white label. Someday you'll come to Florida and I can get you to sign that bad boy).
I'm sure I would enjoy an audio version of Memories of the Future, but I have something different on my wishlist. I'd much rather have audio commentary as you watch the episode. It wouldn't have to be anything fancy - just like watching TV with you. It would be so fun to fire up the commentary and watch the episode at the same time. I know people have asked about that for Stand by Me, and that it's a lot of work. I'm just sayin' is all.
you may ask yourself, "how do i work this?"
I stayed up way too late last night, waiting for Nolan to get home from the Horror thing at Universal. When I was younger, staying up until 3 was no big deal, but making it past midnight is a serious challenge, especially since my stupid brain insists on waking up between 7 and 8 no matter when ...
Full of win.
The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary
I'm at w00tstock right now, and I haven't even seen the show, but I thought it would be fun to write a post in advance so anyone who watched The Big Bang Theory tonight would have a place to talk about it. If everything goes according to plan, this should post right as the episode is finishing o...
I can't wait to see this. I was really hoping you were playing yourself, or Wil.1.

Congratulations, Wil!
Now to decide if I want to wait for an electronic version ...
In which Memories of the Future Volume One is released
I am beyond excited to announce the release of my newest book, Memories of the Future, Volume One. I worked harder on this book than anything since Just a Geek, and it wouldn't have been possible without a bunch of people, who I thank in the book, but wanted to thank here, as well: Andrew Hacka...
Thinking about you and remembering my Barkley.
i can't think of a title, so i'll just say thank you
I once had a terrible case of the flu. In addition to the body aches and chills and stuff, I was puking my brains out all over the place all the time. The worst part of it was that it would happen with no warning; one second I was fine, and then I'd suddenly feel my stomach turn, and I'd be thro...
Wil,
Although I wasn't your 20 something playing Centipede, some other kid somewhere has a memory of coaching me. Of course, since I was a girl and a competent, devoted Centipede player, there was no date involved. And I didn't need coaching.
I was in college in 1980 and worked at a store that had an awesome arcade with good pizza right across the parking lot. I spent every lunch hour over there. There's nothing like that track ball, is there? I still toss a couple of quarters or tokens into a Centipede game if I'm lucky enough to run across one.
And what you may not have realized at the time is that how the guy on the date treated you told that woman something about him. I bet he scored at least a few points, if not more, for being sort of cool toward you.
Thanks for the happy memories.
LA Daily: A Gamer's Arcade Memories
This Week's LA Daily was knocked out of my brain by 8 bits of sound this weekend: My son is home from college, visiting briefly before he goes back for his summer session, so I've been making a concerted effort to cram as much writing as I can into limited working hours each day, so my evenings ...

Fandom weeps.
Condolences to those lucky enough to know her as you did.
a moment of silence, please.
Majel Barrett Roddenberry died yesterday. She was a hell of a lady, who loved Star Trek and Star Trek fans like no other. Some knew her as the original Number One, some knew her as Lwaxana Troi, and everyone knew her as the ship's computer, but I just knew her as Majel, my friend Rod's mom, who ...

Californians: Vote NO on Prop 8
Proposition 8 and the people who support it disgust me. Want to know why? Replace every instance of "same-sex marriage" with "interracial marriage" and see how bigoted and discriminatory it is. Here, these guys have done it for you: I can't believe it's 2008, and this is still an issue....

Thanks for the great posts. I enjoyed the episode, but I wish Floyd had gotten away. They have chased a serial killer over a multi-episode story arc and I'm sorry they didn't do it this time. Reading your writing about acting breaks my heart a little, so I wish you'd had that opportunity.
I have been wondering ... and sorry if someone else has asked this ... do you think that exposing as much of your real life as you do here has an impact on the viewers' ability to suspend their disbelief while watching you play a character? I understand that we don't know you or anything, but regular readers probably know more about you than they do many actors. Just curious ...
Criminal Minds: That's a Wrap!
This is the sixth and final post about working on episode four, Paradise, during season four of Criminal Minds. I spoke with CliqueClack.com about some of my production experiences, and I have a gallery of images from the shoot at Flickr. Please note that I've done my best to recreate my interac...

Great story! But tell us, does the voice in your head always sound like Eric Cartman? Because that would be scary.
in which i fail a vital saving throw
It was the end of the day, and my blood sugar was dangerously low. Colors and sounds were louder than they should have been. My feet and legs had been replaced by two dull, throbbing stumps that barely supported the weight of my body. Most of the day, I'd been signing autographs for and talking ...
