You may not care that I posted something and deleted it, but I feel like I need to give an explanation to the 10ish of you that actually read this {I thank you, ps. V much}. I feel like there are a couple of things that need to be explained... Posts that are about my dating disasters, getting high fived, giving out anxiety attacks, or even dating successes {which are so few and far between} are never written the day after or the week after or in most cases even the month after. I am smart enough to wait a... Continue reading

One of my most dearest {I know, terrible English} is heading to France tomorrow so I offered her unsolicited advice on the vocabulary that got me through Paris, Nice, St Tropez, Marseille & the south of France... Below is an exerpt from our email exchange {and also an example of all the things that might be wrong with me, but at least I am honest.} ...I am going to share with you what got me through my Frenchie trips and things that you all could say to endear the Frenchies to you. No promises, but it bode well for me...... Continue reading

Pinterest is my most favorite, awesome, inspirational vacuum of time. Obsessed! There are certain days that will forever be engrained in my memory as nothing short of staggeringly tremendous. All those tremendous days started just like every single other day. Celebrate the details surrounding your every day. I've found there is always a reason for a party, there is more-so, always a reason for champagne, toasts & celebration People that use their facebook status to whine or back-handedly brag about spouses, homes and otherwise non-problems get hidden. Period. Not that everything I post is riveting, but seriously, I cannot take... Continue reading

I might be a little late to the party, but I am SO excited that there is a special edition Domino Magazine due out in April. I have been known to go through old Domino Magazines every once in a while. This makes me so very happy. I immediately went to FB and liked them ~ oh! so! excited! PUH-LEASE bring the magazine back. I had a hot breakfast date with 2 of my favorite boys and their dear mommy. I had no idea how long and what excitement could actually come from watching the Krispy Kreme doughnut train from the eyes of little people under 4. And truthfully, I hope to never forget the wonder and excitement that can come from such a simple concept. It is all too often that we get caught up in the where we have to be's and what we have to be doing's and what we haven't finished or where we should be. When sometimes, we should... Continue reading

There are certain photos I stumble upon in the most random places that bring back such entertaining memories. This picture is a favorite that I didn't even know that I had, but found while looking for Christmas lights ... Spring Break 1998 a group of 20ish of us all drove to Destin, Florida where we were lucky enough to stay in a rent house that was basically given to us for the week. We went with bathing suits and sundresses and if memory serves, it rained and was unseasonably cold the entire week we were there. We might have even... Continue reading

Of all the body-image issues that I have and of all the "Are you there God, it's me, Dana..." moments I have spent wishing/praying/longing/schemeing for ways to have a smaller waist, less soft bits, more toned thighs or calves that, although I can honestly say they are muscular, weren't so freakishly large boots were difficult to find - I have NEVER - NEVER - wanted something that might make my booty pop! Maybe it is because I once had a salesperson - swear - tell me that for a white girl I had some "ba-donk-a-donk"** The thought alone makes me... Continue reading

I once read that we teach people how to treat us. At the time, I thought it was silly. Teach people how to treat us. Frankly, their momma should have taught them how to treat people throughout their formative years & life should have reitterated the practice. That isn't exactly how it works, unfortunately. I think mostly, subconsciously, we teach people how to treat us. Respectfully speak your mind and they will know you have a voice. Show compassion & caring and they will know you have heart. Continually say 'I don't care' and well, you teach them that you,... Continue reading

because of you, I make a point not to park on a sidewalk because of you, I write a note when I wake up thinking about something in the middle of the night because of you, I realize that reality television might really be nothing more than "emotional porn" because of you, I listen to Edith Piaf because of you, I miss being driven around because of you, I genuinely try not to "overthink" because of you, I think about what I am going to say a little bit longer before I say it because of you, I pay attention... My homemade costume. Iron-on letters, glued on sequins, and a latex, waterproof brightest blue cape (which I can say was already in my closet). I am a vision. And I am pretty sure there is no more appropriate title. {MIS}Adventures. Somedays are better than others... Yes, that is my phone sturdy in my superhero lululemon leggings {obsessed, best workout attire ever} - no need for guns, armor, or a sword -- I've never been into violence or fights. Definitely more of a lover than a fighter. Anyday. Super DK is all for laughter alongside work, happy, authentic people, good always... Continue reading

Little Dylan made me smile last week. He is absolutely precious. And sweet. And has these dear, kind parents. If I didn't have such a good filter {questionable, to some, I realize}, I would totally have squeezed his cheeks. Maybe even eaten them. Eaten them for dinner. See, it is a good thing that I save this commentary just for the 10 of y'all. He is going to be such a heartbreaker. I bet all the little misses in his MDO program swoon. For serious. This is the precious Emily Reese. She is cooperative & sweet & patient & has a great little laugh & excellent dimples. Her world is about to get royally rocked when her momma has twins in the fall. Sweet Emily's mother and I grew up together & selfishly, I am so excited that their dear family has made the move back to the H, even if it almost seems as though I saw them more when they were in LA?! You may not care but I read blogs - all kinds of blogs... My friends with minis who have blogs, reality tv blogs {I usually skim those}, home design blogs {truth, I just own a car, but whatever, one day...}, scrapbooking blogs {I don't scrapbook, but I find these kinda amazing and incredible in a 'where-do-you-possibly-find-the-time' kind of way}, dating blogs, hollywood gossip blogs, fashion blogs {check the sartorialist daily and have for years! I secretly wish he will photograph me on the streets somewhere, but considering I am still in my workout clothes from this morning's Define class, it... Continue reading
