The embroidered masthead is gorgeous!
happy friday + bringing it back home...
You know how sometimes in relationships, you're with someone for so long that things are easy and comfortable. It's great, and everyone's pretty happy but sometimes you need that spark that challenges you and keeps on your toes. Well, over the last six months or so, I've been feeling that way...
This is not the right take-away, but your kitchen is amazing :D
something stirs and something tries and starts to climb toward the light
I worked on [REDACTED] today, and had more fun than I thought possible. I can't say anything more until July. Tomorrow, I work on [REDACTED], which is different from [REDACTED], but should be really awesome, too. I can't believe I get to spend two days working with [ACTORS]. (It was a lot easier...
Yay! Ordered! :D
Announcing The Day After and Other Stories
This is one of the scariest things I've ever done: I'm releasing a short collection of short fiction, called The Day After and Other Stories. Last year, I collected a few short stories I'd written and sold them as a chapbook at PAX. It was a scary thing for me to do, because while I feel confide...
i meant to only read a few chapters of your book last night but i couldn't put it down! congratulations on another wonderful book!
I will ship books in the shade!
A quick note to the Wheaton 300: The final batch of hardbacks -- mostly international orders, but a couple domestics that fell into the wrong box -- have just been shipped. I'm terribly sorry that it's taken a month for these final books to be sent out, but it's time consuming as hell to process...

OMG THAT IS AWESOME! congratulations! i love 'numbers' - a physicist and an fbi agent? and they're brothers?? using math to solve crimes?!? i'm so there. i can't wait to see you on the show!
and now for something completely different
There was a time when I called myself an actor/writer. Then I realized that, saying it aloud, I was calling myself an actor, slash writer. While I suppose this would be immensely appealing to some people, it's not how I wish to be remembered by history, so I made an effort to call myself a write...

gah! i can't believe i missed it - i'm excited for the book fair though!
a bite at the golden apple
The manga signing at Golden Apple last night was awesome. We drew a very large crowd by comic book in-store signing standards, and it was more like an informal party than anything else. I'm telling you, if you're local and into comics or Star Trek, you should come out to one of these things, bec...

you are my new heroes. awe. some. (high five)
you can count on me
Ryan and I sat in the car and waited for a break in traffic to make a left. "Do you have any plans for the weekend?" I said. "Yeah," he said, "I'm going to go see three hundred and twenty-three movies." I looked at him. "How are you going to see that many movies in one weekend?" A Wheaton mo...

a great panoramic photograph of comet mcnaught, australia day fireworks and lightning over perth, australia on astronomy picture of the day.
stupid weather
I've been real excited about Comet McNaught since I first read about it a few weeks ago, and I knew that time to see it was running out, so Anne and I planned to take our binoculars and drive up one of our local mountains tonight to get a look at it. The skies were clear all day, save a few puff...

if you're at all into london grime (hip-hop for dancing) you should check out 'a grand don't come for free' by the streets. some very catchy songs and some very slow dreamy ones too.
bleating and babbling
From the time I was old enough to recognize that music is important, I've gone through these phases where a certain band will jam a guitar into the base of my skull and twist around there until I listen to them enough to fill my brains with their music and push the guitar (which is usually a L...

wil - the podcast was AWESOME! the parts where you yelled out of the window of your car were hilarious and your excitement after your audition was delightful and infectious and...it rocked. i was sad when it was over, in fact.
Radio Free Burrito Episode 4
Yes, it is true! At long last, the long-overdue Episode Four is here. According to certain other episode-numbered series, this should be the episode that grabs everyone's attention and establishes me as a Force to be reckoned with . . . but it will be the next episode that proves to be my best...
