Best. Pictures. Ever. I love that you aren't all bored and too cool to enjoy yourself. Way to be.
This is a real thing that happened.
I'm still processing the whole thing, through a mind that was recently completely blown, but I have to show you a picture, Internet: Anne gave me a surprise party for my 40th birthday. She spent a year planning it, and gathered 165 of my friends -- from around the world -- into one room to cel...
Personal is not irrational, it's just, well - emotional. You were attached and didn't want to become unattached. Perfectly understandable. It sucks that everything is about money.
Nice photo, btw. You all look like you're having fun.
I really miss this place
I took this picture on one of the last days of production. Whenever I watch Eureka this season, and I see an advert on the network formerly known as Sci-Fi for one of their stupid goddamn are-you-serious-with-this-bullshit reality shows, I get angry and then sad. Eureka was and is such a g...
I've never been as worried as my peers about pirating. For one thing, if they read it and like it I may actually have a new paying customer. But when someone is pirating hundreds of files a day what's the likelihood they are actually going to see MY material? Pretty close to zero. And I don't think they'd be paying for it if they couldn't pirate it.
So it's just not worth getting my bloomers in a twist over it.
So if torrent gets you what you need I'm all for it.
You know this wouldn't be a problem if we only had the Star Trek economy.
an example of the usefulness of bittorrent for entirely legal purposes
I frequently find myself in an unpopular position in the entertainment industry: I believe in network neutrality, I don't believe that piracy is the end of the world as we know it (I particularly don't believe that a download or file shared automatically equals a lost sale*) and I don't believe ...

My nephew will be joining Team Humans sometime in July, so today we're having a baby shower for my little sister (who, at 33, isn't little, bit if you're a big brother or sister, you know what I mean.) My brother in law is awesome, even though he's Dallas Cowboys SuperFan Number One Top Guy Fore...
He/She left off the part where scantily clad space girls clutched your arms and said "ooh" in breathy voices every time anything came out of Wesley's - I mean Sparks - mouth.
From the Vault: Sparks McGee
This was brought to my attention by a fellow Redditor in this thread. I'd completely forgotten about it, which I can blame on it being written almost ten years ago. Holy shit. Ten years ago. Enjoy: To: < wil@wilwheaton.net> Subject: star trek Ya know the writers could have solved that whole ima...
Hi Wil,
I had vowed to hate you forever after your cruel treatment of Sheldon on the BBT (Yes I know Sheldon is a fictional character), but after that post I find I cannot. It's hard enough to raise your "own" (meaning biological) kids (I know I have four of them). I have the utmost respect for anyone who takes someone else's and loves them until it's clear that biology doesn't a parent make.
The upshot? I no longer hate you, but will you please be nice to Sheldon? He's clearly a "special" person who needs your compassion. (Yes this is my lame attempt at a joke. Just roll with it.)
In which I am a proud father (this is not a repost)
My son, Ryan, graduated college with a creative writing degree this past December. He got a job immediately after school, and moved all the way across the country to work there. I miss him every single day, but I'm incredibly proud of him, and the work he's doing. Earlier today, I read something...
