claiming vulnerability...
warning, this post is not a pretty one. it is a shot of my reality at the moment which is virus laden, raw, and weary. too often, with all our social media venues, we only capture life's beauty. i have no problem with that, in fact, it's what i seek out in my own life and here on my blog. but...
oh, such a beautiful offering from a beautiful soul ♡
I am deeply grateful for the support, friendship, and ways I have grown this year inspired by my inner work in Soulodge. (And I look forward to joining you live this April at Esalen for Shamic Painting!)
I will join you under the flap again in 2013 whether I win a spot here or not - thank you for your offerings.
love and hugs sister,

Easing Into Monday
Today is the first day of SouLodge, and so I am pouring my energy carefully into that beautiful vessel and feeling conservative. I'm nursing a terrible headcold as a result of many things happening all at once. The most unexpected event, though I feel right with how it all went down, is that ...

You certainly touched a nerve! The act of questioning if I'll find I have anything authentic to say if I allow myself to drop down into the mystery inside myself and listen and question and listen... To take the faltering steps to birth myself when it's much easier to compare myself to someone else, wallow in my shortcomings, feel like crap, and just give up. today i chose one faltering step at a time, (with an occasion leap thrown in evey now and then!).
OMG She Stole My Life!
Something I give a lot of thought to, consciously and abstractly, is the phenomenon of women comparing themselves to others. Do men do this? Honestly? It seems like nothing blows a hole in a nicely rolling tire more than the feeling that someone else is doing it better than us. Or, ever get that...
yes, I'll be doing it and be thinking of all of you!
Thank you Pixie for inititiating this ceremony. xo
Make Your Own Releasing Bundle Instructions
I'm all goosebumpy writing this. It's with all of the energy I have that I ask the women (and maybe one or two men with heart?) who gather here to honor the Winter Solstice this year by creating a ritual at home or in circle with others in order to release what is of the dated, outmoded ways. Wi...

Quiet in the West
I'm popping into my little living room nest here to share two yummy looking recipe links that I want to make this week. Now that the time has changed, I'm about ready to have dinner-simple dinner- around the hearth at about five. These look so good I might have leftovers for breakfast. SouLodge ...

Hello Everyone! I have been doing some research after my recent blogging troubles and have decided to begin anew with a Typepad acct. I still have much to learn and it will take me some time to get around the site and add things, here, to my new Blog. Sometimes things occur, in our lives, for ...

SHOW AND TELL - pictures with just a few words
Photos of the pages I did in Kelly Kilmer's class. I am so glad I went. I was surprised when I looked the next day how much I loved what I made. These pages aren't finished yet. There's more I can do to them but I wanted to show how much fun I had and what I came up with so far. soaring moth...

i discovered your blog through a friend and i delight in what i find each time you post pictures and words, share your beautiful life. it reminds me of how it was when my girls were young and my days were spent gardening and taking care of animals and putting food by. after years of adventuring, blessed to live some of my dreams of travel and community building, i find myself once again here at home longing for chickens and a rooster, goats, and a bigger garden, a greenhouse, an outdoor shower and tub. i savor and delight in your posts, you inspire me.
up to my elbows!
Just when I think I'm getting ahead with this food preservation thing, my friend calls to tell me she has 3 (big!) boxes of nectarines for me! I was delighted! She lives in town, so we took a drive in to pick up the nectarines and say a quick hello since we're both very busy with our canning...
i just read this this morning on Zen Habits; i love the "as if you had chosen it". a great mantra. i hope the move is going smoothly.

yes, i totally understand the "overflowing" you've described so beautifully. at those times i am often overwhelmed with emotion that can come out as tears, laughter, or both - one after the other. to feel full to overflowing...how lovely.
i found my way here through your comment on misty's blog, the class blog i think.
moments of beauty...
there are times in life when i find myself overwhelmed with the world - and not in a negative sense. it's like my heart is full and then some simple 'thing' happens - be it an unexpected comment, gesture, kind act, something i notice, a surprise letter/email but usually it is simple and ordin...
Happy New Year Maija! I hope our paths cross in 2010 too :-) There is always so much beauty here on your blog...love your journal from mary ann's class - i bet that class rocks!
"Like Shopping for A 14 Year Old Girl......"

wonderful...love the process and the result. the last one especially.
i haven't done this for years, now i'm inspired to do it too.
Playing with Found Words
This past week in addition to lots of card making, I've been taking a plexi break and indulging my creative needs with a bit of poetic expression. It's fun re-tasting things you've forgotten about for a while.
sweet....so you do all you do AND crochet? i would love to learn how to do that some day, i barely know how to knit and i hear crochet is easier. BTW, i have been feeding the white horse pieces of apple, i think we're forming a relationship, maybe even a bond. still a little scared of him though (like he might bite me when i'm feeding him) i'll get better :-)

watching time pass
watching time pass I'm feeling inspired to work in a series about time, aging, and the generations before and after me. It's so interesting to reflect on how each time period in my life find brings me to new issues to explore more deeply, places that all of a sudden I can relate to in a new ...
