It's been a while since I've posted. It's been a while since I've been in my studio. My work situation, the company being bought out, has been, well, just awful. Anyway... Today I got the new window holes cut out,... Continue reading

Ugh. Have I said I hate sewing? I know, I have. I think I'm done now. Hopefully. Continue reading

Megan, if you lived close to me...or even on the same continent,...I'd be knocking on your door.

I played with the pile of stuff for the loft bed long enough to decide I needed a life-size example. Making an unmade, messy bed is more difficult than a neatly made bed. I fashioned a pallet on the living... Continue reading

I decided yesterday to get dreaded tasks complete and out of the way. I still have the child's bed in the loft left to do, I'm trying to decide if I want to tackle that today. I might as well,... Continue reading

I know I said I was going to complete this build with nothing more than items from my stash, but look at these granny squares. I envisioned them from the get-go, but can't crochet. Thank you, Michelle, for the custom... Continue reading

Happy May! Spring is finally here. In April Michigan experienced all the precipitations...snow, rain, sleet, hail, fog...temperatures between 7℉ and 76℉...thunderstorms, blizzards...there was even an earthquake. It was crazy. I've been enjoying the sunshine the past couple of weekends so... Continue reading

I just seed it in, Sheila. No spring this week, Susan. School closings for tomorrow morning are already rolling across the TV screen. They could save time by saying "Michigan is closed".

Friday's rain and Saturday's snow have turned to Sunday's sleet. Ester and I are still cuddled up on the couch, sewing. I read somewhere to use aluminum foil as quilt batting so it will hold whatever shape you'd like. I... Continue reading

The floor plan I plotted for this build has the kitchen cabinetry corner removable and set back half an inch in depth from the main walls. I designed it that way so that I would have access for my hands,... Continue reading

The copper cabinet hardware I selected yesterday didn't appeal to me today. I want to showcase copper pots in this kitchen, and thought copper hardware would be...competitive? distracting? matchy-matchy? I installed silver hardware instead. In the background, in the jig,... Continue reading

Right now I would consider 33 a heat wave.

I extended the base to the right length, I'll hide the seam under a cabinet door. I'm planning to use some lovely veneer Nancy gave me for the cabinet doors. I need to pick a color to stain the base... Continue reading

Thanks for the advice, Megan. I have a lesser quality copper pot I'm going to play with.

I ordered stove and extractor fan kits from ELF Miniatures for this build, and added a kitchen cart kit to my order on a whim. I'm glad I did, it's the perfect place to display one of Charlene's estate pieces,... Continue reading

I already tested that. Great idea, though.
I built the boxes for the kitchen cabinet bases. The section on the far wall is shorter than intended and the section on the side wall is a bit longer. It is apparent I should not be allowed near ruler... Continue reading
