I LOVE the second-to-last photo...the one of your shadows kissing on the beach. Such a great shop. I definitely agree with you that Instagram is a great way to easily capture daily moments :)
A page in my book: Sunset Walk
I think like many, project life is a very time consuming and costly project so for now, Instagram snaps are proving a great way to document what's going on. So here's a page of what will eventually be a page in my project 365 book!
Also: I noticed on my Dashboard feed you commented on another post re: being obsessed with Chipotle. Our family is, too, and I even tried to re-create their steak last night for dinner. You can read about my comical and miserable fail here: http://www.kelseymcevoy.com/whatever-you-made-for-dinner-tonight-is-nothing-compared-to-what-i-made-for-dinner-tonight/
(Apologies up front for a few bits of language; I don't censor myself on my own blog but I certainly do when commenting on other blogs because, well, because it's the respectful thing to do.)

This layout spans two weeks, two vacations, and a tale of sickness in between. (I promise this is the last time the plague of summer 2012 will come up in a blog post! Promise.) First there was California. Aside from the beach, I had very few photos from this trip. Thankfully, my sister-in...
Thanks, Shannon :) I have SO much catch-up to play with PL that it's a little daunting! I was doing great keeping up with it but then life happened and now I'm a month behind again!
I've finally figured out how to pare down on photos and stop filling up 27 pages for one day of one week, but now I have trouble finding journaling cards and other embellishments that are "me".
Hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon employing some of these techniques and using some of these resources. Thanks, again :)

I LOVE this PS Intagram grid you made! I'm wondering --- how do you plan each week's layout? Do you use digital elements to "drag and drop" photos and plan out your space before printing everything? I've been trying to find a system that works for me but it's been impossible and I've fallen a month behind already!
Currently I just use sticky notes on my actual PL pages to plan each week out but I feel like there's probably an easier way, and a much more effective way to determine which photos looks best where.
And one last thing --- how'd you create the PS grid? Just an 8.5 x 11 document with boxes to drag and drop photos in?

Ooooh, I've been wanting to do this, too! It's been, like, a billion degrees out here in DC for a couple months now and then this weekend, of course, it's grey and cloudy and rainy and relatively "cold" (mid-70s and no humidity) which means this project is put on hold again. I love how yours turned out, and that you did it "au natural" :)
crayons on the wall
So here it is! Here's what I did with the melted crayon art from last week. * 14x18 melted crayon art on canvas * 10 - 8x8 instagram photos - convert to black and white and print at Costco (1.49 each) * chipboard "love" from Hobby Lobby with some aqua paint * glittery "JOY" - purchased at Fred...
I've moved!
Hello, all! I've decided to switch from TypePad to WordPress because, well, because WordPress is the shit and TypePad isn't. Nothing against TypePad...it just doesn't allow me the freedom of design and functionality that WordPress does (you'll see what I mean when you go check out the new blog). So.... Continue reading

when I grow up I want to be a ______
In today's economy you're lucky to have a job. And if you have a job that pays well (enough) without also having a degree, well then, my dear friend, you're even luckier. And since both of those things apply to me I'm not entirely sure why I'm complaining (or whatever),... Continue reading

I can relate to sooo many things you touched on in this post! Like moving to a place with no recycling. When I first moved to DC from PDX I was astounded that there were no recycling bins anywhere. I even petitioned my apartments to offer a recycling area by the dumpsters and after a long while they obliged.
Vanity plates are very popular here, too. Well, in Northern Virginia to be exact. The locals here like to tout the fact (haven't checked it so it may not be true) that Virginia has more vanity plates than any other state.
Apartment living and hot, hot heat. Our specific apartment unit doesn't ventilate air very well and with the 100+ degree weather here in DC and Northern Virginia, it has been less than comfortable. Especially for our 3 month old. We've been fighting with our apartments since moving here in November about this issue --- hopefully we make some headway soon!
Anyway, great post. I really like reading your updates. I think last month was my favorite --- such a unique way to compose a post :)
four month report
Four whole months. When we moved here I started collecting a list of notes and observations on my phone -- things that were different, new, odd, etc. I saw this a while back on someone's blog and I thought it was a fun idea. Each state, city, etc. has it's own feel and personality and quirks. ...
I know I say sleeping is for lazy people, so please try not to judge me when I tell you I spent all day sleeping.
So today is Monday, which means it's most likely your favorite day of the week because, uhhh, Mondays are rad. Right? Remember how Monday is the day of the week when everyone is in a good mood and babies never cry and every single thing happens according to plan? No?... Continue reading

Nora, Thanks for reading :) Yes, my oldest is very enthused about school and I hope that it stays that way! She is always trying to better herself and learn something new so that she can teach it to others. I was shocked when she only asked for chapter books for her 7th birthday in May! And shes already about 1/2 to her goal of 30 books for the summer. The first weekend of summer break she knocked out a whole chapter book! As far as Insanity goes, nope, Im no slacker either ;) I love working out; if I dont do it Im in a horrible mood and no fun to be around! Ive been MIA on getting posts put up because family life has been crazy but its starting to settle down so stay tuned and keep reading :)
the 1st grade, a retrospective from the mind of a 7 year old
You all know by now that Bri's last day of 1st grade was this past Friday, and if you've been paying attention you know that it was way super fun. So now we're officially one weekend in to Summer Break and even though we didn't get around to crossing any items off our Family Summer Bucket L...
