Excellent post Wil. I've called my senators and have been encouraging others to do the same. I posted a link to your post on my FB page, please don't send Hollywood thugs after me. ;-)
Today the US Senate is considering legislation that would destroy the free and open Internet.
“Why is it that when Republicans and Democrats need to solve the budget and the deficit, there’s deadlock, but when Hollywood lobbyists pay them $94 million dollars to write legislation, people from both sides of the aisle line up to co-sponsor it?” --Reddit Founder Alexis Ohanian on CN...
So you're the reason I never got a Swatch!
Check. And. Mate.
On our way home from the grocery store tonight, I said to Anne, "Have you heard of this Tumblr called I'm Remembering?" "No," she said, "what's that?" "It's all these images and things from the eighties and early nineties, and it's pretty awesome." In spite of myself, I added with a rather copio...
Bought a "how we roll" shirt for my manfriend. It should be here today or tomorrow. I told him I was getting him something from the wonderful world of Wheaton. His response... "sigh". I guess I should stop calling him Wil when he needs a shave.
a stupid cellphone video, and other various items
Last night, I made a new stupid cellphone video. Enjoy: Related. This Sunday, I return to LEVERAGE on TNT as the evil computer hacker Cha0s, in the holiday spectacular episode The Ho Ho Ho Job. Immediately after the episode airs, I'll be joining the cast for a live web chat. I'll give lin...
The whole changing your profile picture to your favourite cartoon charicter on Facebook was created by this man, beause he has an unnatural obsession with Smurfs. He is using all the pictures of smurfs to identify other people who like smurfs, friend them, then brain wash them to join his cult. It was currently on the programme- Internet Frauds and will apparently be on tv some time tonite, put this on your status to warn people and change your prifile picture back PLEASE PASS ON !!!
merry smurfin' smurfmas, mothersmurfers
This is crying out for a caption. I'll choose my favorite, and send something neat* to whoever writes it. Submissions open throughout the weekend, one per person, and can only be left as comments here (it's too difficult to track on Twitter or via e-mail). *definition of 'neat' will be at my s...
Excellent timing on this post! I'm doing my online christmas shopping today and wanted to look into some new games. Thanks for the demo link.
learn to kill monsters and take treasures in the comfort of your own home
Munchkin, from Steve Jackson Games, is a fairly polarizing game, especially at BGG, where people tend to love it or hate it. I love it, mostly from playing some truly memorable games with my kids over the years. Nolan was to my right. He kicked in a door and didn't find a monster, so he looked...
Oooo think I'll have to pick that one up for my man. BTW loved the post about bowling yesterday. Great shirt!! ;-)
In which my shirt.woot shirt makes its resurrection roll
The Lords of Shirt.woot heard our prayers, and have brought my shirt, How We Roll (or, as I like to call it, Critical Mass), back for the holidays!! Real quick history lesson: I designed this shirt, that I really love, for shirt.woot last year. It was pretty damn popular, but was overtaken by ot...
Wil this seriously brought a tear to my eye. I'm so glad you are getting good use of the shirt. BTW dry cleaning is probably best. I hand washed mine and the black runs a lot.
in which i spend a day as both father and a son
My son Ryan came home for Thanksgiving, and before he left, my dad and I had planned to take him and his brother to play Frisbee golf. When I got up today, it was fifty-seven degrees below zero, and the wind was gusting with gusto (HA HA HA), and I knew the conditions were not, shall we say, opt...
I made that shirt and gave it to Wil at Wootstock in SF. If you're really interested PM me on Facebook.

What no comments from the reddit alien???
hey, is there anything good on tv tonight?
Hey, did I mention that I'm on The Big Bang Theory tonight? I didn't? That's weird. I could have sworn that I did. Well, allow me to just put this gentle reminder out there: Evil Wil Wheaton returns in "The 21-Second Excitation" at 8pm on CBS. And now, another hopefully amusing video, to help yo...
"ASS SEX" hehe.
I love it when you write about your family. It's so honest and heartwarming. You and Anne are clearly made for each other (isn't it great to have that perfect other half in your life? There's nothing in the world I would trade for my Kevin.) Anyway keep up the good work, enjoy your time between shows, oh and the only thing that smells better than rain on a hot day is my daughter's hair after a bath. It's like almond cookies, honey and magic.
This is a very, very good life, and I'm grateful for it.
It's quiet outside my office window, like the heat and humidity is sort of absorbing and muffling most of the sounds that usually come through during a typical Saturday morning. All I really hear is birds singing, the occasional drone of a distant train, and the low rumble of thunder out over th...
Made a donation in my daughter's name to "the doggy" (she thinks Seamus is really pretty and she wants to pet him.) Today is her 3rd birthday and I thought this would be another good opportunity to teach her about helping others instead of just focusing on her presents. Thank you for organizing a great fundraiser and providing a great teachable moment for me and my little girl.
To celebrate the legacy of our awesome dog
Last year Anne and I raised some money for the Pasadena Humane Society in memory of our awesome dog, Ferris. When I wrote about it here, Anne said: Just over 8 years ago, I made a right turn instead of a left out of the Home Depot parking lot. That was a turn that would change our lives forev...
"Humane" society. I should really learn to read before hitting post.

Damn it Wil. Now you got me all misty eyed. Seriously though I think what you're doing is great. The Human Society is one of my favorite charities. Keep up the good work.

BEHOLD Clash of the Geeks - The Wheaton / Scalzi Fan Fiction Chapbook
A long time ago, on an Internet far, far away, John Scalzi's brain unleashed the most epic and awesome and WTF image ever known in the history of all the tribes: The Unicorn Pegasus Kitten. But a Unicorn Pegasus Kitten alone wasn't enough, and so I was placed astride it, wearing the Infamous Clo...
I thought it was awesome that you brought her. My daughter is only 3 so it will be a while before she can come with us. Did she last the whole show or crash out early?

I have a dear friend with lupis so this one hit pretty close to home. Thank you for organizing this.

Will download and donate when I get home. Can't risk it now, the bosses are roaming the halls today.

Love the editorial note "That was funny?" I use to do a lot of editorial work for doctors and I know the feeling behind those pen strokes.
garage discoveries
I spent a little time in the garage today, and was rewarded with a bunch of nifty discoveries, so I thought I'd share pictures of a few of them. All of these images can be clicked to embiggen them at Flickr, where you can learn more about them:
That was hilarious Mr. Laughypants. Hope you feel better soon. My mom swears by neti pots for sinus infections. You may want to pick one up at Walgreen's and give it a try. BTW, I'm the "not a crazy stalker chick" from reddit that's making the shirts. They're looking really good.
i'm mister laughypants
Sinus-related happy funtimes* have temporarily halted my plans to finish my PAX after action report. I hope to get to it by the weekend, but until I do, please enjoy this silly video my friend Greg shot, which I'm kind of in: Also, this picture taken by Heath while we played D&D. It captur...
I think I need to get that "saved the princess" one for my mom. Though she never really appreciated how cool that was.
bumper stickers for proud gamermoms and gamerdads
I wonder if the current generation of about-to-be-born geeklings will appreciate how awesome it is to have geekmoms and geekdads? Zero Lives says: My son Dean is going to be out of beta in just over 3 months and I've got some preparing to do. I've never understood why parent stick the crap bumpe...
Alas we are only days away from finding out if the CCU will validate the use of the HellaHeston.

That was so sweet. And scrabble in your house sounds a lot like backgammon in ours.
Video of my reading from PAX Prime: Triple Word Score
While browsing Reddit during my morning coffee, I came across this: I remember how much I liked writing this story for LA Daily, but until GenCon, I'd never read it in public. Both times I've read it, though, it's gone over very well, so I'll probably add it - at least temporarily - to my pe...
Bonus point for using "crabbyface" in your post.
minor #PAX schedule change (Friday and Sunday)
I got a call from Enforcer Mojo this morning, advising me that the Expo hall at PAX doesn't open until 10am on Friday, so trying to start a signing at 10 seemed a little silly to me, because people who couldn't get into the giant line for Expo hall early enough could potentialy have a sadface (a...
Great post. Sorry to hear about the foot. That Rx Naproxin can be brutal to the stomach so try to take it easy if you can.
You may ask yourself, "well, how did I get here?"
About two hours ago, I said goodbye to my friends on the set of Eureka, and rode back to my home away from home, here in Vancouver. About an hour ago, I started doing my laundry and packing my suitcase. I think the last time I did coin-op laundry, I was 20. It's strangely familiar, and the uniqu...
Too funny. In our house our daughter (almost 3) MUST play "the baby song" (Nirvana's Drain You) with daddy a few times a week. She plays drums (badly) and dad's on guitar. I love watching them play.
a quick one while i'm away...
Yesterday, Niall Matter and I went over to Granville Island for lunch and shopping at the public market. Matt Hastings, who is one of the producers, met us, and we had a really nice time sitting on the deck of this restaurant, enjoying the beautiful day, and some great food. We talked about all ...
