Once upon a time, was a white linen top, remaining on a shelf because its owner thought it was too short. On another shelf, a dress was also waiting for better days. Its shape did not satisfied any of the... Continue reading

I had this old wrap skirt. It needed to retire after many years of use. BUT among the wrap skirts I've got, this one was my favourite concerning the shape. So, I cut it, copied the pattern and made a... Continue reading

That's the story of the top on the left, which was too short but had interesting princess seams. I cut on the red line you may see. Then,on the right, comes a dress given by a friend. The kind of... Continue reading

Through Swapbot,http://www.swap-bot.com/ I'm part of a group called "free patterns creations". We all work on the same free pattern and then swap our production. This time, we worked with this pattern : http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/pdfs/cozy_scarf.pdf I used fabric and lace from my... Continue reading

I used 2 camisoles which belonged to my grand-mother. Very old stuff then. I used one fabric for the body and the sheerest one for the sleeves. Raglan sleeves, homemade pattern. Once finished, I noticed a tiny hole on a... Continue reading

I wonder who could wear the dress on the left. For the friend who gave it to me, the top was too big. For me, too tight... How many people bought it and were not satisfied ? That's the point... Continue reading

Although admitting it was made 18 years ago (I can still remember me at my parents, cutting the squares in the garden)was a bit painful (!), I hope it will last as much ! Will the colors not suitable when I get old ? Thank you for your nice comment !

Thanks for the link ! I didn't know this brand but there are very inspiring clothes ! I did not use a pattern, but made one from my basic pattern and had a go. That's why I used a sheet : I thought I would ruin the fabric ! At the beginning, I wanted to put an elastic at the end of the sleeve but changed my mind. It is fabric consuming but no difficult to make !

Thank you for your comment ! You're right about refashioning small things. That is weird because it is obvious but I could only see one kind of refashion : big to small. Maybe because it seems more difficult than to cut something big and get rid of what is not needed ! For example, until now, I wouldn't have even thought about enlarging trousers. But that is a lack of imagination I'll try to improve. I will go through all my too tight clothes thinking of what you said, and maybe I'll find inspiration !
