Hey, I never said that it was good and/or right, just that it was an indicator. ;)

Wil, It is obvious that the intent of your post was to both vent and to put out an FYI regarding such mob-tactics and your intended action/reaction to such situations in the future. There is another aspect to the story you told that is a bit tree-like as opposed to your forest-like description . . . Your efforts are coming to a fuller fruition and you are achieving greater success in your first-love career. Being mobbed by a creepy autograph seeking crowd (as you were in your teen days) is an indicator of your increased popularity as an actor. Though this incident may be a less than comfortable indicator it is an indicator none the less. Those unfortunate souls, in their mis-guided ways, were simply welcoming you to the new plateau to which your Hollywood Star has risen. Though you may not feel like someone should say this about your mobbing, congratulations. May you have indicators in the future that you find more pleasant.

Good choice on Anne's part - the Dr. is somewhat of an egg-head, anyway.

Once the new procedures were put in place I ceased taking optional flights. Thankfully I have not yet had to fly so I have no first hand experience with what is happening in our airports. Your blog entry, however, makes a few things very clear. Wil, what you were put through was wrong. How you were made to feel is unforgivable. The actions of the TSA agent should be counted as criminal.

Hey, if you have some of those disks left I would be interested in purchasing one. (Will not be in Seattle.)

Wil, I anticipate my 2 copies will arrive any time now (one for me and one for a friend). How many have sold thus far?

I am in on this one (with the other Ba-Zillion entrants). :)

Hey, put me on the waiting list if someone drops off (since there are more than 9 posts here).

Wil, I enjoyed the entire episode . . . my absolute favorite part, though, was watching the opening credits and seeing 'Wil Wheaton' written across the screen. ;)

Wow - Two great interviews published this week, appearing on Leverage this Sunday followed by a live podcast, AND live at the ACME tomorrow night! This is definitely Wheaton Season. If I did not already have to be at a charity fundraiser all evening on the 8th I would so be at the ACME! Break a leg!

Dr. Who references and poop jokes in space . . . gotta love it.

That has to be the most legitimate and appropriate use of auto-tune that I have ever seen or heard. Love it.

Wil, excellent show! I noticed that Warner purchased wilwheatonstinks.com, .net, & .org - and did absolutely nothing with them! They could have made a small mint with ad click-throughs. If the studio releases them you could acquire and have some fun. Alas, wilwheatonstinks.info, .biz, .me, .mobi, and .us were ignored by the studio and are set up with (appropriate? read - non-offensive) links.

I so hope you do a wide release because I will not be at PAX and I have been after you (on and mostly off) for YEARS to publish your fiction. I so want to read a copy. Kevin.

The Farpoint imagery for the front cover is an excellent choice. Since you end volume one with Datalore, it is too bad you do not have the crystaline entity on the back cover. Looking forward to the release - so, if I read correctly, both US and world versions at lulu? K.

Greatly enjoyed the episode. Since I was wandering Portland just a short while after you filmed there I recognized those great exteriors. Oh, and your 'trigger finger' instinct really did make that show-down shot. Did you have to stay cooped up in the back of that van for multiple jumping-out shots? Kevin.

I love that you were referred to as 'our favorite O.G. (Original Geek)'. Looking forward to viewing the episode tonight.

Wil, It's good that you can geek-out and are self-aware enough to hear that inner voice telling you to stop (for social niceties) and that you can forge ahead anyway. The reason this is good is that you are waaayyy ahead of the competition in the celeb department. What you described in your post is how many people feel and act when they meet you - you are Space Invaders to a fair sized group. Many celebs don't get how that feels (at least, they act that way). Thank you for sharing.

Reading this blog entry and the comments brought to mind an incident from my youth - and probably why I dislike playing any deviation of the game of baseball. In a park, (extended) family picnic, is the setting. The kids in the group were watching a baseball game adjacent to the picnic area - so naturally I joined in. Foul ball. Right in my mellon. Momentarily blacked out. The guy who hit the ball felt horrible and was leaning over me when I came to. It was the kid who played Eddie Munster (yet another 'former child star'). Thanks for the dredging up the memory, Wil. :-)

I am new to the POD book purchasing - what link would I follow to make a purchase? Also, once I purchase, does that make me one of the 'Wil Wheaton POD People'?
