I voted Pain before the game started. I had the feeling they were going to either come out strong and relax late, or just not show up. Im not happy being right. Still going to win the series, but its not going to come easy.
Recap: The Celtics refused to win this game
Eighteen point leads are never safe in the NBA, especially when held by the Celtics. Aided by a 76ers team that couldn't shoot straight, the Celtics led by 15 in the 1st quarter, 15 at the half, and 18 early in the 3rd quarter. But in typical Celtics fashion, the C's eased up and gave it all a...
Like most of you when I saw the Tebow I was thinking it was a little premature and out of place. I was actually worried it might be a jinx. But now when I think about it, i feel like Pierce pulled off a perfect multidirectional insult. He Tebowed after he hit a free throw with plenty of time left in the game, saying to the Hawks "B@#ches, we got this;" Also, he did it right on the court, on the actual Hawk. Almost as if he was T-bagging ATlanta. Like a big FU to all the Hawk players and fans. And, seeing that Tebow is on the Jets, Boston's most annoying wanna be but not really rival, Pierce was saying FU to NY too. All in all, Jinx, premature, or not, a perfect insult. I might buy it.
The Boston Celtics: Quick to capitalize on a moment
If you've ever bought anything from the Celtics official team store, you get bombarded with emails for special offers. After getting an email advertising "2 shirts for $30"... I figured I'd tool around to see if they had anything good. And then I stumbled on this. It's pretty funny, actually...
I understand. Trust me. I almost smashed my TV watching Rondo blow games for the Celtics sometimes. He is hot and cold. But other than a CP trade, which is dead and gone, who? Can we bring up some Lin Sanity from the D league. I just do not see who or what we would get from trading Rondo at this point.
Celtics collapse against another bad team
Well folks, we might be able to point to this game as the end of the new Big 3 era. Because effort and execution get no worse than this. The Celtics let the Pistons hang around for 3 quarters and then they crapped themselves as they got out-scored 25-16 in the fourth quarter.... leading to a 9...
You're right. Pierce as well in a perfect universe where we would get something worth while in return. I just do not see a scenario that would be worth trading these players all at once. Unless the Cs end up with Dwight. In that case I think it would take Pierce and Rondo staying to get him in Boston. I could def. be wrong, I am just having trouble envisioning who the Cs would get in return that would be immediately worth it. I just don't know if I am ready to be a Warriors style fan where you expect your team to lose so you don't get disappointed.

Honestly, If we have to trade anyone on the Celtics, it has to be Ray. I love Ray, love his game, love his 3s, and he has been a prominent contributer. However, I think the Celtics can do without him, and he will generate the best return. Can't trade Rondo cause he is too good of a point guard. Can't trade Pierce because he is too good all around. KG is a big, which the Cs are lacking as it is. Package Ray up and start rebuilding. I love Rondo. I think all the Rondo haters are just frustrated with this season and looking for an outlet. I am really frustrated with this season, and I called it a wash days ago. However, Rondo is not to blame. It is simply time to make some changes. Can't compete in this league with this combo of players anymore.

-----only for the postseason, I love the Celtics and they will always be my number one team.
Recap: Heat destroy Celtics (and my optimism)
(Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images) I'd been clinging to the 'flip the switch' and 'get the new guys acclimated' theories for the past six weeks... but after watching today's pile of crap... I'm starting to have my doubts about this team. In what many of us believed was a must-win game, the C...
Where is my I hate Danny Ainge shirt? Watching Perk dominate Bynum makes me want to punch Danny in the face. I know everyone is sick of hearing the Perk propaganda, but you have to look at the progression of the change. It all happend after the trade. We swapped a bad bench with another bad bench, except we gave up Perk. He may not have been the sole factor in the prior sucess (we still won when he was sidelined) but he was still on our team. And Rondo has been a little bitch ever since Perk left. I dont know if he had man love for Perk or whats going on, but he is playing like his hearts broken, or like he wants out of Boston. Know Im not even watching the games. Its just bad for my health. Im gonna start following OKC, not because of Perk, but because they are the only other team in the NBA that I dont absolutly hate.

Next time you guys do a "how we see it going down" you should predict the Cs coming out like they don't give a shit, playing like crap, dissapointing the crowd and fans everywhere, and making us all worry that they are not a play off caliber team. I know we had these same worries last year, but it seems different. I honestly don't see how we are going to beat the bulls, or whatever beast rises out of the west, playing like this. Im pisssseddd!

I was just last night starting to feel like the Cs were now the team to beat in the NBA. You can put anyone with our starting four and we get wins. Now we have depth and a lot of firepower behind them, as well as a scoring five man. Who is going to beat us, especially when Shaq comes back. However, I read the power rankings today, and John Schuhmann actually dropped the Cs down a spot. Thats Bullshit. THe lakers moved up to number one from way down. I think Schuhmann, like most sports analysis, is gay for the Lakers. The Lakers suck this year. So the Spurs had a bad game, that doesnt mean all of the sudden the Lakers are the greatest team in the universe. The Cs go through the tough trade and still grind out win, with injuries etc. Yet they drop. The Lakers loose a ton, while healthy, get a lucky win, and their on top. Im done with Schuhmann, his opinion is garbage.
Your Morning Dump... Where Nads was no throw in
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “In Oklahoma City I didn’t have a role,’’ he said. “I was just a spot-up shooter. They didn’t want me posting up, nothing. It...
IM just pissed NBA tv didn't play the Cs game yeserday so I could watch out here in Cali. Instead I had to watch the "New Look" Knicks against the who gives a shit Hornets. What a boring game. I wanted to see Garnett embarass Pheonix. Also, I wanted to see Troy Murphy get humbled,(his ego must be giant after getting the chance to choose between two elite teams even though he is a mediocre player at best). Also, is anyone else sick of hearing "New Look" and "Big Three?" There is only one team that can have a Big Three, because the Celtics created the term- Mchale, Bird, and Parish. Now the friggen Knicks, Heat, Magic, Thunder, Lakers, etc, have Big Threes. Sports analysts can be worse than reporters for fox news sometimes with thier bullshit.
Paul Pierce adds Channing Frye to his body count
I'm not gonna pretend Paul Pierce is on a Blake Griffin-esque run of putting people on posters... but he's dunked on a few people this year. Channing Frye is just the latest. Derek Favors knows And of course there was the 2-for-1 in Toronto I'm just sayin... don't sleep on our boy Pierce...
Yep, I just watched the Association episode 3, and nearly lost it watching Perk being excited about getting back on the court. Even seeing little Nate stirred up some emotions,(I think trading him was a great move). As much as I try to see this as a winning buisness, I can't get over loosing Perk. Especially watching the early reactions to his leaving on the previews for episode 4. Both Doc and KG say they lost a family member. Talk about chemistry issues. I feel like the Celtics I knew are gone. Glad I got to see them on thier last game at the Warriors. I had no idea the game had so much signifigance. Last time Perk, Nate, Semi, and Luke played for the Cs. I'm really close to saying F@#k Ainge. Not quite there yet.
KG barely gets through his postgame interview
This is one tight team. "I felt like we lost a family member." This is the scariest part of the trade. When you build such a tight team, having to get rid of somone mid-stream can really be upsetting. KG barely made it through this interview. I tweeted this out yesterday, but I'll repeat ...
You're right to a degree. Perk is a fan favorite and it sucks to see him go for that reason alone. However, to most fans I've talked to (and non celtics fans) the trade seems like a bad move because of Perks defensive ability. THats how the Cs make thier name. If they cannot get a good center that can step up when shack gets injured again, than we are not going to win a championship. Thats what its about, winning this year. And with this trade, as it stands alone, just undid any chances we had. If, like most suspect, they have something lined up to fill that role, than it's another story. But that remains to be seen, thus the fan hysteria.

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. "You just hope [Celtics president of basketball operations] Danny [Ainge] and Doc know what they're doing," said Pierce. "We pu...
The Heat lost too, so Whatever. Bulls kind of scary now. McHale predicts them to take the East. I predict Noah to be the ugliest man in basketball.
Recap: Undermanned C's run out of gas
AP Photo/Joe Mahoney I'm not gonna go too deep into this. The C's had a better shot in this than I thought they would. But they went cold... REALLY cold... late in the 4th quarter and ended up losing to Denver 89-75. In fact, the last points the Celtics scored came on a Paul Pierce 3 with...
I love Perk, and it sucks to see him go. But he was going to go anyway. He didn't sign the extention, and thats all the Cs could offer, especially with the Cap limit coming down with the new agreement. Green didn't sign an extension with OKC and we need a back up for Pierce and Allen, so there it is. Also, once Shaq and Jermaine come back (if Jermaine isn't actually made of straw), we will have depth at center-Shaq, Jermaine, Krstic, Baby, and the rookie if need be. Also, we have some empty spaces, money, and picks to pick some people up in the post trade buyout period. Nate was dissapointing this season, Semi had potential but whatever, and Luke needs way more time to become valuable. ---And, although I belive it is completely incorrect, I'm just going to say it, what if danny gave up on this year and is preparing to pick up Dwight Howard during free agency. Doubt it, but I wouldn't miss Perk so much if we had Howard.
Taking a deep breath, and spewing emotionally about Kendrick Perkins
Earlier, I took a step back from the shock of today and I tried to make sense of what happened today. I stand by that analysis and maintain that we still need to wait and see before we judge the effect of today's trades on the team. But now I want to be a fan. An emotional fan that has deve...
Cavs don't want to help the Cs win the East, they are rebuilding. They picked up Davis from the clippers, and if they buy out Quis, they will have more room for improvement this offseason. I think the Cavs want to shed all the reminants of the Lebron era, and start over. Hopefully its to our benifit.

Gotta trade Nate either way, and probably Erden. Our bench sucks these days, especially because Nate can't buy a bucket, or make a pass. It would suck for Semi to go becuase I think he will be valuable in years to come.
Report: C's, Warriors in Nate trade talks
Twitter / Sam Amick: Warriors and Boston in dis ... via kwout What's funny here is the amount of "Nate Robinson needs to play in this Warriors system" jokes I heard last night. The obvious target on the Warriors for the Celtics is Dorrell Wright. He would fill the hole the C's have a...
I was at the game, and the Warriors looked like they were going to extend their home winning streak against the Cs. It was good to see Delonte and Semi back. Also, I was blown away by the amount of Celtics fans at the Oracle. No joke, it was like an away home game for the Cs. When the few warriors fans who were there left early due to the beatdown, the remaining crowd was still roaring--all Cs fans. To their credit, I met some really cool Warriors fans. Since thier team is always getting beat, they seem to just watch for the love of the Game. Also, Im pretty sure Ray Allen looked at my sign, than hit a three moments later.
Ray pregame: "They don't belong on the same floor with us"
You know how every once in a while we bring up how Mr. Mild-Mannered Ray Allen is actually a stone KILLER with an assassin's mentality? That's a glimpse of it right there. "This team right here, they don't belong on the same floor with us." I love how after he says it, there's someone who ...
I am going to see C's play in Oakland also. I hope they can pull out a win. I also hope Shaq plays. I know a lot of Celtics fans going, so hopefully we can take the crowd factor out. As long as the Cs dont take the night off, as they usually do when they play the warriors, we should be alright.
House of Horrors
Oakland's Oracle Arena. The Boston Celtics' house of horrors. Since 2003, December 29th, 2003 to be exact, the C's have been unable to pull out a win at Oracle. Could it be GSW's usually frenetic, fast-paced offense that wears the C's down? Or is it the sellout crowds that have made Oracle one...
Griffen had this thing wrapped up before he performed his first dunk. The event was in La, which gave him an obvious advantage. The car was a KIA which sponsered the whole weekend. And fans voting allowed for a popularity contest rather than actuall skill. He jumped over the hood and did a pedestrian looking dunk. I think McGee and Ibaka got robbed. Three balls at once, and a free throw line launch way more impressive.
