To not understand my comment is to not understand the importance of John Lennon. To call my comment subjective is to not understand what that word means. To assert blogs are the Special Olympics of writing is naive. Certain things are sacred. Today is not a day to compare Lennon to a heavy metal wastoid. I'm sorry if I don't find a man being murdered funny.
The two are not comparable. One could be argued to be the most influential songwriter of the twentieth century. The other is named after a bag of weed. One influenced the way an entire generation walked, talked, thought, dressed, and lived. The other stole everything he did from Jimmy Page. One forced a puritanical nation to realize its notions of "moral" and "good" were founded on lies. The other wrote a song called "Yesterday Don't Mean Shit." This kind of thinking and writing is subjectivity at its worst. Relating everything to one's obsessions no matter how tenuous the connections. Bad form.
