Dude, let's hope your wonderful state doesn't do like NJ does - and tack on a surcharge (as if paying a fine weren't bad enough) of $150 for a moving violation for which the original ticket was $150...
i've got one more silver dollar
I'm taking a break from my online traffic school (shorter traffic school: Don't be a dick, and slow the fuck down). I got a ticket recently when I misunderstood some confusing lane lines in Burbank. I thought they were telling me I could turn right from the two right-most lanes, but the friendly...
Can't stand GL anymore, although the GL movie might change my mind... :-)
It's Wednesday, so here's a post about comic books
When I was a kid, I was a DC Universe guy all the way, with rare forays into the Marvel Universe to read a few X-Men books, and the occasional Silver Surfer 100 page spectacular (remember those? I loved those oversized one shots in the 70s and 80s.) I realized last week, though, that the bulk of...
BTW, the reason I'm a DCU fanatic is that I learned to read with Superman in the 60s and met my current husband in the pages of a Batman comic in the 80s. However, you're right, Wil, in that Batman is a whole different animal, no pun intended. Batman, Inc. is pretty bizarre. But I do love Superman walking across the U.S. Nyah!

Sorry, but I will follow those DCU guys forever. But there is one non-DCU book I'm reading and really like - Morning Glories. I haven't figured out what the heck the story behind it is, but it's just fascinating.

Pens. Pencils smudge and get hands dirty when the paper is handled a lot. Although Sharpie has a liquid "pencil" that erases well for a few days then sets like ink. I'm always entranced by new writing implements and I hang on to them long after they've dried out...
Which Do You Prefer to Write With: Pens or Pencils?
Ever since we were allowed to make the switch in late grade school from pencil to pen for our homework, I've stuck almost exclusively with pens. But lately there are some things that are just better in pencil (like my ever-morphing to-do list.) So, because I'm an office supply addict, I st...
And we'll all be home for Christmas this year, I promise!
merry smurfin' smurfmas, mothersmurfers
This is crying out for a caption. I'll choose my favorite, and send something neat* to whoever writes it. Submissions open throughout the weekend, one per person, and can only be left as comments here (it's too difficult to track on Twitter or via e-mail). *definition of 'neat' will be at my s...
Just now found your weblog again. I saw the Numb3rs episode and loved it. A Todd McFanlane type character was what I thought of when I saw you. However what I really want to know is - who did the art and is, or will it be up for auction anywhere? I'd love to have the sketch of the brothers...Do you have any idea who did it and what happened to the art?
186, and some other NUMB3RS
The good news is that I packed and labeled 186 books to be shipped. Of those 186, about 30 are international orders that still need customs forms and postage, but the rest are ready to go. This brings us to the bad news, which is that I just finished now, an hour after the post office closed, t...
