Here's my 2 cents: You don't 'manage' people. You supervise them. You 'manage' resources. People are not categorized in any leadership training as a resource. When they called it Human Resources they really screwed it up. It goes right up there with assigning responsibility with authority. You can't do it. Try giving an employee the task of opening a door at a specific time without giving them a key and see if it get's done.
