I've worked on this pouch several days in a row. I started three months ago by embroidering the yellow feather (with silk thread dyed with immortelle flowers). I knew it'd take me somewhere. Last week I picked it up once again, cutting the piece of avocado skins dyed linen, and cutting it in hal...
i always marvel at your photography sonia. I am sure that pouch will be just as amazing.

On this very gray day, let me share the first photos of our two day trip to the Mont Aigoual (May 9-10th) We left on a relatively warm day, and as we drove up the mountain, it got cooler & cooler. And as we arrived on top, it was foggy. We never have any fog, down in Montpellier, way too dry f...

I've been wanting to share these photos with you, because I think they hold so much warmth and fragrance. It was the first time I've seen Lavendula stoechas / French (or Spanish, or topped) lavender / lavande stéchade, growing wild, abundantly in the area. We had already spotted another kind of ...

I've been doing several dyeings these days, some successful, some less successful ... well it's really like in life, you can't win all the time ! But there is always something to learn from it, like imperfection & impermanence (so dear to my wabi-sabi conception of life), as well as happy little...
i so want to eat that brownie right now. I have been out gardening and dyeing with indigo all afternoon. It is cool but very sunny so I didn't mind it but now I am so hungry :)
So happy you had a wonderful birthday. I think a few more surprises will arrive soon.

Thank you dearly, dear friends & visitors for the birthday wishes, here & in many places, you are all kind of amazing ! Yesterday was a wonderful day, we woke up to sunshine, was greeted with drawings & presents from my boys, had a great day of discovering greetings of you all here, on Flickr, F...
Hi Kate
It is just noro wool crocheted in single crochet in a circular manner as you would for a simple doily or rug . It was then felted in the washing machine. The wool is made in Japan but readily available everywhere and it is self striping .
Hope that helps
Margie
hmmm
i spent some time on monday cleaning and rearranging everything on my studio desk i wanted to push the imac back since the new one has a wireless keyboard :) little did i know that this would now leave room for a furry friend to sit in front of the screen to watch me eat my fruit and yoghurt ...
your bucket lineups are really quite something but it is funny how they remind me of dance recitals. I kind of miss them , seeing all those adorable children lined up in their bright costumes dancing.

These are the lastest reversible buckets in the shop ... Most of the floral prints I've been using for the buckets, I have/had enough of them for one set (of 2 buckets) only. All florals won't likely be made again. Gingham, stripes, and plain ones, I usually had larger quantities of them, so I...

I bet we all need some kind of color fix at this point of the season. I know spring has taken its time for showing up in most parts of the northern hemisphere, so I hope these sublime flowers (though already declining !) will bring some color & sunshine & warmth to your day ! (PS : I had already...

i think you have a beautiful style as well but more importantly you have a very strong philosphy of making that is evident throughout everything. xo

EDIT MAY 18TH 2013 : since this post is getting lost among the other, I have decided to go ahead & make buckets with them, so they are not custom made anymore. Please refer to the shop itself to see if there are any available currently. Thank you for your understanding. Hello everyone, I hope ...
you are such a thoughtful , wonderful daughter in law. I am certain she will love her everlasting bloom.

First of all, thank you to all who purchased reversible buckets yesterday, there are 2 sets left, and good news is that I'll be sewing more today ! On an unhappy note, as I'm typing (it's almost 2 whole days since she broke her hip !!), my mother-in-law still hasn't had surgery !!!! Thank you so...
i love the naturally dyed one so much. Such a beautiful shape and size too. I will think of your MIL all day and wish for excellent results for surgery and her rehabilitation. xo

If you follow me on the blog exclusively, you don't know that shortly after I posted yesterday's blog post, my mother in law broke her hip, while bringing back the boys home from school (for lunch). She was staying here for several days, and she was the one who had to pick the boys at noon. Turn...

(note : long & photo loaded post ahead) Last year, probably around the same period, I spotted a plant while hiking locally. After some researchs, I discovered that I could try to dye with it. I promised myself to go back there & collect some for a first experiment. (because natural dyeing is no ...
i love your enthusiasm for natural dyeing. I prepared a larger indigo vat yesterday and had it warming in the sunshine on the kitchen table. I left it there overnight and awoken with a feeling that I was going to find indigo dyed kitty cat paws this morning but it did not happen, thank goodness. xo

Just a short post, for wishing you a lovely weekend. March is just like it should be, sun is playing peek-a-boo, rain as well. Our region is in need of so much moisture, I will not complain about it then. Spring cleaning is still going strong, but it wasn't planned at all. And it's more ...

Yesterday I was apparently very motivated to do some rearranging & spring cleaning. I decided I (we) needed to do something about the boys' bedroom. Something got to change. Their desk (one large table they share) was in a undescribable state, mess all around, despite my daily efforts. I switc...

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We did. On Saturday hubby & I went in nature, and picked a (not endangered or protected) plant we had spotted last year. I'm most probably going to dye with it today, so I'll talk more about it in a next post ! For the moment, I wanted to share the beauty, th...

Today I sewed two new SOLO organizers, one "natural" (without any bias tape, therefore its price will be a little softer) & a minty one. (still working with materials I've been having in my stash) They will be added to the shop this weekend. There are 3 SOLOs left in the shop. I hope to start...
your photographs are such a source of relaxation to me. I love using the word rose because it reminds me of my daughter tamara's first doll. It was a sasha doll from england named baby rosie and she came in a little wicker. Her darling dress, bloomers and cap were cotton covered in rosebuds and she had little red leather shoes:)

After the deep blues I shared yesterday (which I love so much), today's mood is rosey. Sometimes I dislike that word "pink", and find that "rosey" is so much more charming. More color & texture exploration, looking for inspiration with what I have at my reach ... (Birthday) Gift wrapping. I lo...

The sun is playing peek-a-boo today, and I've been feeling energized by its power. I've had a little idea, which I think, is a lovely one. Looking at the shop, I noticed some items were matching (made with the same fabrics). I decided to (re-)unite them & sell them together. I called them "Craft...
