Having trouble telling from the video - did he nutmeg that first defender, or just go around him? Either way, awesome goal. Imagining what Klinsi would look like if Jozy scored a goal like that for the USMNT makes me laugh at the stern-looking golf clap Jozy got from the AZ coach.

Thank you.

On twitter, he said he would be available for this weekend's game, should his coach call on him. Not sure if that answers your question but at least his injury doesn't seem too serious, at this point.

I've been hearing similar things about Castillo, and am very interested to see if he gets called in. He didn't impress last time with the USMNT in my opinion, but his club situation has vastly improved since then, and everything I've heard about him has been positive. SwagSurfin - definitely agree that Castillo's got an advantage over other pool players in terms of being more accustomed to the style of play we'll see in CONCACAF. Rlw2020 - also can't believe that we've actually got options on the left. I've heard Castillo can play LB or on the wing, but even with that versatility, he's got competition. Chandler, Johnson, Lichaj at back; Shea and Johnson on the wing. Read an article on MLS's website (Gringo Report) this afternoon about Castillo. He sounds very hungry for another chance. Always great to see players striving for a callup!

Is it too early to start revising history? "Remember in 2012, when the USA soccer team boycotted the London Olympics to protest the terrible commentary of the British CONCACAF TV announcer? They really made a stand that year!" I'm also unclear who I should want to lose in upcoming matches here. Do I root for Mexico to crush El Salvador? Hope that El Salvador upsets our archrivals? Drink the maple syrup Kool-Aid and hope Canada qualifies, and Toronto FC miraculously beats Santos in CCL to boot? SO CONFUSED!
Word. With this, the Gold Cup, and the U20's, the Football Gods would have to be pretty heartless to muck things up for us this summer. At least that's what I'm hoping.
I like Shea, and so disagree with most of this, but will say I agree on the fitness issue. I feel like Shea starts out games well, but if he has to play multiple games with minimal recovery, or past the 60th minute mark, he's hosed. Hopefully he can work on that aspect of his game.
I can't relate to the El Salvador love, but I'm happy to see that we agree on one thing: blaming Canada!
I dunno, I kinda like the name "Mixx". Makes him sound like a pornstar. Now he just needs a Sacha stache...
If you don't get either USN or mun2, you can also watch online for free on CONCACAF.com. Good quality, official streams paired with horrific British commentary by a guy who clearly has never seen any of these players before.
As much as I like Shea, he did look exhausted against Canada. I'm also in favor of letting Speed Demon Gyau get the start. Shea could be a very effective sub.
Anybody else wondering why Corona was subbed out at the half? I thought he was one of our best players up to that point, and he confirmed after the game the sub was a tactical move, not because he was hurt. Baffled...
Also, listening to the British CONCACAF online streaming announcer makes me want to tear my hair out. Jorge is not pronounced "George", nor does Terrence "Body" exist. My cheapness in not buying cable is really coming back to haunt me.
Man, Shea looked hosed in the second half - am I crazy, or do I remember this happening several times since he became a regular starter with the USA? Should have chugged some maple syrup at halftime. I'm with Jamie Z - frustrating result, but also a good challenge for the U23's. Hope they're up for it.
Too bad - I was really looking forward to seeing Gatt play, even as a defender. My guess is a Norwegian conspiracy to get him to file his one-time switch. Those sneaky Norwegians.
Ditto on poor Cuba.
Why does the USA not have an awesome jingle that plays every time we score?
Anyone have any info on specific players to be watching out for here? I'm familiar with many of the Mexican senior team players, but not many/any U-23's...
I like this idea. The more exposure to hostile environments the USMNT gets, the better. Assuming USSF gets $ from the ticket sales, I would think they could make a lot if they pitted the USMNT against top European/South American teams...
