Protecting environment is good. We have limited resource so we must protect them for the future. However, just protecting is not enough. People need to be educated. Ecopencils have good solutions. Ecopencils is Kenyan corporation who has missions: "Securing and conserving the environment, enhancing education, and promoting economic empowerment." They want to make future employment through protecting environment. They manufacture pencils that are made of recycled papers so they are environmentally friendly. Do you know Formula One (F1)? Formula One is the highest class auto racing. It is the battle in 220 mph speed. Honda attended the F1 by 2008. Now Honda has Formula E. Formula E is a race game. Bus is better than car environmentally because bus can transport more people in one time. It saves gas. But bicycle and skateboard are much more environmentally friendly. They use no gas and no oil. However, "skateboard is the #31 contributor to deforestation in North America and #1 contributor to maple in particular," according to the Bamboo sk8. Bamboo Sk8 makes skateboards from bamboo. I sometimes come back to my room and regret that I should have unplug the products which I don't use often such as printer. Even if I do not turn off the power of the products, the products use energy when it is plugged in. It's not good for the environment of the Earth and my wallet. Today i went to the restroom in the MacDonald's in Eugene. Then I saw the hand dryer says it's better than paper towels environmentally. It's easy to image that paper towels deforest and hand dryers does not. However, dryers uses electricity, so which is better for environment? First, surprisingly, paper towels does not deforest. It is made from waste of manufactured regular paper. Second, life cycle analysis (LCA) is useful to know how much effect they have as products.
