Giveaway! Giveaway! ALERT! ALERT!
It is hardly a secret that I adore Tea Collection, since Felicity has been wearing their stuff practically since the moment she was born. The clothes are beyond adorable -- um, hello: And, as if the cuteness weren't enough, everything from Tea is top quality, made of ultra-s...
I'm so sorry this has happened. But I am glad that you found out now rather than 10 years from now, when the high sugar's effects came to pass. It will get under control, you sound like you are doing everything you can to work on it, and know that your future child(ren!) will be the beneficiaries of all your hard work now. That doesn't make it any less tearful now though, and I'm sorry.
One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
It's been over a month since I first told everyone that T and I were going to start trying to expand our family. Since then I've been suspiciously silent. It's, well, not great. Half a step in, and we've hit a wall. When I went in for blood tests, I got a freakishly high blood sugar reading. ...
That McDonalds Menu song, where the kid is playing the piano and the brother is in the chair singing the song in his head? OMG I CAN NOT hear whatever song that is without thinking, "a chocolate shake, a cheeseburg-her, and maybe fries" in my head. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Unless it's some other McDonald's menu song and in that case I guess I am the only one.
I'm with you one the spanish classes. I took it in 10th and 11th grade and I'm not sure I ever learned anything that I could forget. With a narcoleptic 10th grade teacher, the tests were pretty much open book. And I think my 11th grade teacher had a bunch of health problems and was practically never there. I wouldn't have even recgonized trunk.
There Is No Such Thing As Useless Knowledge
While I've always been a big lover of school, I've had my share of classes that I just wanted to make it through. I didn't care at all if I actually retained any knowledge, so long as I still got my A (because HELLO, I am a perfectionist). Spanish was one of those classes. Well, three of those...
Dreams about missing a class I can't remember to attend? check
Phone number dialing that is incorrect and weird? check
The offensive writing thing? Yes! I also worry that I am doing/saying/looking funny and people are secretly trying to get out of a conversation with me.
My jr. high school nickname still makes me cringe like the Hustle incident does you (see also: mean kids)
And no joke, I had a client call this morning where I purposefully didn't use the woman's name because I was scared I would call her the wrong thing. The lady's name was KAREN. How can you forget that?
And then - the baby toes. Ahhhh.
Things That Make Me Clench
-- When I type ".xom" or ".vom" in the address bar of my browser and don't realize it until I've hit Enter, and then I have to hurryhurryhurry my cursor to the Stop button before the Mistake Page loads. -- When I'm working in Word and I want to move a bunch of text, and as I'm dragging it the sc...
I'm with Liz. I normally delete partial feeds if I find myself skimming over them for a few weeks. It's a time issue for me. I do a lot of my reading on my phone, so clicking over can take a long time.
Full Feeds vs. Partial Feeds
How many of you won't read this post because it's in partial feed on your reader? Please click over one last time and take my poll. Power of the people. I switched to partial feeds about a month ago. If you come to my blog via a bookmark or someone's blogroll (there is one person who still come...
We are icing people aournd here, so more surfaces to plaster icing on is

One year ago on September 10, we had this tiny little girl... And now we have this giant walking, talking (sort of) full of life big girl. I can't remember our lives without her.
As soon as the lights went out for black light bowling, they all started
dancing and hopping around! We had been playing Wii bowling for most of the
day, so we thought we would take them to do the real thing!

And an almost 1 year old stayed home and played with her nunchucks. And we also let them jump from tables into a big pile of pillows. And they played Batman Castle in the bathtub. And loved on our Toots.

GET THE TATTOO.
You've given birth, you'll live!
That's any easy one to mark off your list. Promise.
40 Things to Do Before I Turn 40
1. Get a tattoo. Location and design to be determined. (I actually have a good idea on both of these, but I am a chicken and am afraid of the pain.) 2. Walk/run a 5K. 3. Find one of those cheater short triathalons and do it. 4. Teach my oldest 2 kids to ride two wheelers. 5. Teach my oldest 2 ki...
The worst ones are things like Hotel Rwanda and the Blood Diamond. I CAN NOT watch children be mistreated or turned into soliders or given drugs. CAN NOT. I know these things happen in the world, but I refuse to watch them anymore. Child abuse and child soliders are two things that I just can not stomach. The images play back in my mind for months, or even years.
Things I Would Like to Unsee
After I wrote The Eyes Inside of Her Head, my SIL commented: Loved this post. But it makes me think...only 90% of the time do I love the "eyes inside my head". Do you ever struggle with that other 10% of the time when your "eyes" drift to dark topics? Would be interested in your thoughts. At fir...

My first ultrasound with my last baby was EXACTLY like this one. The doctor said she couldn't get a good enough look, but that she thought it was a girl and she didn't really see any parts to indicate otherwise. I think I saw the three dark white lines, but I wasn't sure. So we went back in four weeks and she still wasn't being all that cooperative, but she did finally stay in a position long enough so we could see. It was the three lines. And they are bright white. It's not some ambiguous thing. You'll see them if they are there. AS for a boy, you see all his business and there's no mistaking it.
Make sure your appointment is in the morning. I never could wait until the afternoon for ultrasounds, I was always too crazy.

Rapper T.I. Begins Federal Prison Sentence
Rapper T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., reported to a Federal prison in Arkansas earlier this week. He was sentenced to 366 days and will serve the whole term. The sentence stems from a 2007 arrest before the BET awards. He was convicted of possession of three unregistered ...
