Fortunate Frustrations
There are many who would tell you that I have a positive demeanor. And it's true, I do try to look at the positive side of things and always try to find something positive about even the most frustrating of individuals. But sometimes it's difficult not to get frustrated...even for those of us wh...
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!
Just the other day I made so chocolate chip cookies from the book. The bad news is that I didn't put 6 on a pan like I was mean to do, and the cookies went and fell OFF the pan, got suck together, and turned out HUGE. And THEN, when I put them in the jar, they suck together, AGAIN! But, they did turn out delicious! Continue reading

Seems like April was exhausting for many of us!!! Here's to a Milder May!
Mayday!
OMG! Things are flying at me just too fast. I don't feel frantic, but I do long for a scheduled Pajama Day and I don't see that happening any time soon. I can't believe it's already May 1st, so I hope you will indulge me a bit while sort out what happened to April. Let's see...I spent the first...

Well, it’s been awhile, but I’ve been very busy. We’re moving!!! See, my house has been for sale and it’s sold. So we’ve been packing up our house and it’s messy, but clean. it’s weird. Some place are packed and what hasn’t has been moved to our kitchen (boo), dining room (boo), and living room (again, boo). So it’s not so bad. I just can’t cook (boo)!!! Well, have to go pack… the movers are coming on Monday. Continue reading

College Cookies
Okay, this weekend my sister is coming home for spring break from college, and my cousin is coming to look at a near by college and my mom wants me to make a batch or two of cookies. She wants me to make katydids out of a 3 POUND tub of cookie dough!! I mean 3 pounds is a lot. And I had to carry 6 or 7 of those. That’s 18 to 21 pounds of cookie dough that’s been frozen for awhile. She also wants me to make some more for when we have some people come help pack... Continue reading

That's funny. Long before Harlot started doing it, I had my own "Brown Bag" sock club. http://krafty1.typepad.com/krafty1/brown_bag_sock_club
I've thought about restarting it once I get into the new house. But, I know I'll have enough to worry about repair/painting/unpacking to start...at least for awhile.
Ending the Madness
It’s Sock Madness time again. The first pattern was just released today. It was a sign; just what I needed. I don’t like the first pattern. I don’t want to knit socks side-to-side; it goes against all the reasons that I love conventional/toe-up sock knitting. I don’t need a new “challenge” ...

I'm considering this not as a new chapter, but as closing the book on my life with the EX and getting to the next chapter in the new book that is MY life! It's a great read!!!
We interrupt this blog...
for an announcement. No, I didn't finish the sweater over the weekend. In fact, there was far too much going on to do anything more than get the cuff started. I knew this past week would be difficult Olympic Knitting. My schedule was NUTS. And as if it wasn't "nuts" enough, one more item...
Day Two- The Endurance Run
Saturday there was a lot to do. But I managed to steal away a good amount "laps" around the body of my sweater. Each moment in the chair allows time for another "lap" or two. Current lap time: 8 minutes Number of "laps" till lower body is finished: 42 Estimated time for remaining lower body: ...

Fast and Easy
Last night I had a supper that took me less than 20 minutes to make. All I did was add noodles(cooked), chicken, onion, and alfredo sauce in the pan I cooked the chicken and onion in. Then took that out and mix the alfredo sauce and noodles in there. Then the chicken and onion are are like a garnish. I'm still doing the muffins on Ssaturday for a Wii challenge rematch. I hope that I win again at tennis. Continue reading

First Time Blogging
Hungry All the Time I am a new teen. I've never blogged before, but I love to cook and my mom convinced me to start one. I will be cooking recipes from Alton Brown's "Good Eats: The Early Years" and will be blogging about it. It's kind of like the movie "Julie and Julia." I will cook on the weekend(because I have school during the week) blog it, but I will try to blog during the week. So, next weekend I will be making Chocolate Lava Muffins.Mmm. I'm drooling over them already. But for now I'll just have to eat... Continue reading

Glad that you are home...safe, sound, and emotional. How could you NOT be!?!
Pajama Day!! Yippee!!! How soon?
Home is where I want to be...I think...
The long trip home started at 4:30 a.m. on New Years Day in Heidelberg. In the little apartment above the Boyo's hospital room, I showered, ate a little cereal, and obsessively checked and rechecked that I had my passport, train ticket, and airline confirmation. I'd had less than three hours sle...
Less IS more!
Greetings. Sorry for the long silence. Yes, everything is fine...more than fine. Sure, I'm blogging less and knitting less but doing so much more these days. There's been a funeral and a wedding. There's been huge work projects followed by an equally huge party. There seems to be a lot les...
It worked, Sis...you WERE funny!
Day 1- Krafting a New Life: The Echoes
The house is on the market. We need to cut loose and break free of the ghosts that are around so many corners of this house that we built ten years ago for our family. Since March, the "for sale" sign has been out front. For seven months, we've kept things cleaned and ready for showing nearly ...
I take Panda to college next Friday for the first time...how much tissue should I pack!?!
I Think I'm Gonna Be Sad
The Girlie that's driving me mad is going away. My chickens, she and her Beau, finally left me after repeated hugs and lingering at the security line. The actual flight leaves at 1:30 PDT. It's never easy saying goodbye. A little over ten years ago, she left for Japan the first time. You'd thi...

How I Spent My Summer Vacation - Part One
Camping with Mom and Dad Where we go is about as far north and as far east as you can be and still be in California. I usually take US80 East to Reno and then head north on 395. I followed this storm all the way up to my destination. The storm made for a beautiful sunset. Which got increas...
My Panda has been involved in a few mural projects...they're as much fun to watch grow as a garden!
Hosta la Bokeh, Baby!
...with knitting. I used up the first of four balls of yarn on the Transverse Scarf last night. I couldn't help but throw it into the Blue Angel hosta for photos when I got home from the rare knitting out on a Monday. I didn't notice the neighbor lady and her daughter on their front porch ...
