Here's a quick card I designed while meeting with a few stampin' friends this weekend. I had a general idea and only brought limited supplies and this is what I whipped up. Hope you like it! I used the Create A Cupcake stamp set and Lots of Love letterpress plates from the new Occasions mini catalog. I inked the lettepress plate with a Versamark ink pad and ran it through my Big Shot to create a tone on tone background. Another stampin' friend, Jane, showed me how to add Crystal Effects to the cherry to create a shinny epoxy cherry.... Continue reading

My swap for November was inspired by Barbara Dondero. I used the Day of Gratitude stamp set (Wood 120835 / Clear 121148) and the Autumn Splice specialty DSP (120808, $11.95) from the Holiday Mini. I used Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock to create a back ground. Stephanie created this card also using the Day of Gratitude stamp and Autumn Spice specialty DSP. Must be the go-to stamp set for Thanksgiving. lol :) Jane decided to get a jump start on Christmas and created this adorable gift card holder. Here's a Christmas card using the Candy Cane Christmas Fabric and matching Candy Cane Big Designer Buttons from the Holiday Mini catalog. I used the new Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die to die cut the fabric and adhered it to the card with Anywhere Glue Stick to only the center of the fabric to keep the texture of the fabric. I really enjoy working with the fabric and hope to experiment with sewing on cards soon! ;) SUPPLIES: Paper: Baja Breeze (111352, $6.95); Real Red (102482, $6.95) Ink: Whisper White Craft (101731, $7.50) Other: Candy Cane Christmas Fabric (121715, $9.95);... Last week Friday I attended the Pacific Stampers' Monthly meeting. Here are the swaps: Designed by Naoko Designed by Stephanie Designed by Karen I have to admit Halloween cards are not my forte and most of my Halloween stamps are now retired. This was the third card I designed for this swap and I'm quite happy with it. I used clear embossing powder on black card stock to create the shinny bats. Brenda taught us how to make this FANGtastic jar and tote. I love how Naoko and Brenda's creations match each other! Continue reading

Thank you for stopping by for day 1 of my Holiday Mini Express from this past Sunday's End of Summer Stamp Camp. I designed this card to showcase the Waffle Paper, which Stampin' Up! sells in two types of packs - - silver & gold, or black & brown. I also used the Glass Glitter, which is available in silver or gold. The Waffle Paper comes in individual rolls. Be VERY careful when separating the first layer of the Waffle Paper because it is very delicate and sealed with a strip of sticky tape. The Waffle Paper can be torn,... Continue reading

Here are a few swaps from the Pacific Stampers' September meeting. My son just returned to college last week and I spent as much time with him as I could. He flew out this past Friday and I headed straight from the airport to our meeting. Half way there and still in tears I started to turn around and go home thinking I was crazy to think I'd be okay to be around anyone, but I always look forward to our meetings and stamping with friends so I continued driving to the meeting. As always, I was warmly greeted by... Continue reading

It's been awhile since I've used the mini milk carton die and I had to try it out with the Got Treats stamp set in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. How awesome is it that Stampin' Up! created a stamp set perfect for the mini milk carton die. Of course, you could use Got Treats stamp set for cards, tags, and other projects too! It's just too cute! ;) Before assembling the mini milk carton, I inked up the Haunting Hill jumbo wheel stamp with a VersaMark ink pad and rolled it onto the larger area of... Continue reading

Here's a quick thank you card I made using the new Owl Punch from Stampin' Up! While rummaging through my embellishment drawers I found some googly eyes with eyelids and eyelashes. I also added a little hair bow to doll her up! ;) I punched the tree branch from Old Olive using the Bird Punch and sponged the edges of both the 3x3 card and mini envelope with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. I inked one of the stamps from Cute by the Inch stamp set (Hostess Level 2) with a VersaMark inkpad to create a tone on tone design. It's... Continue reading

I made this card and treat box earlier in the summer. The color combination was inspired by my 18-year old son, Christian, who is my number one fan and supporter! He always give me input when I'm designing and I totally trust his judgment. I had a few scraps of card stock on my craft desk and he commented how much he liked Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive together, of course he didn't know the names. He also suggested a few other color combos that I can't wait to try out. :D The Island Oasis DSP is from the Summer... Continue reading

Last week Friday I attended the monthly Pacific Stampers' meeting. I really look forward to these meetings and I was extra happy because by 5:00pm my swaps and thank-you gift for my convention buddy were done, and my pupu (appetizers) were picked up (thank you Christian for picking up the Korean sushi)! The theme for our swaps this month was new accessories so I chose to highlight the new Paper Daisies. With the help of the new Color Coach I found a color combo outside my comfort zone - - Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and So Saffron, but as you... Continue reading

A few months ago, my sister in Las Vegas, Augusta (also my downline), began converting her wood mount stamps to clear mount for space-saving purposes. She explained the process to me over the phone and I was surprised to hear how simple it was. However, my stumbling block was that the temporary adhesive glue she used, Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over, was not available in Hawaii, or maybe it is, but I gave up after searching about a dozen places! I'm so lucky, my sister picked up a few bottles at a local craft chain and mailed them to me... Continue reading

This card was inspired by Ilina Crouse who designs beautiful cards and 3D boxes. I was also inspired by Naoko Page of the Pacific Stampers group. I've always admired in amazement whenever I've seen Naoko's embossed swaps. So I finally sat myself down and gave it a try. WOW, who knew it was THAT easy! Seriously, I had no reason to be intimated! I absolutely love embossing now and am planning to invest on more embossing powders! So you can count on seeing more embossed projects on my blog! ;) I stamped in VersaMark Ink and then embossed the flower... Continue reading

I scheduled a bunch of post but somehow had them scheduled to post in JUNE instead of JULY! lol, I must be in denial about how fast the year is flying by. Any way, here are photos of a few swaps I received from our Pacific Stampers' meeting earlier this month. Unfortunately I haven't made swaps for the past few meetings and I didn't get a chance to take pics of all the beautiful swaps at the meeting - - too busy chatting with my new BFFs! :D Although I didn't make a swap, I showed the other gals how... A few weeks ago a friend was interested in buying the Stampin' Up! Circle Scissors Plus. I couldn't share any hands on experience and could only direct her to a few YouTube videos. While searching through YouTube, I stumbled on a card designed by Kristina Werner and I knew it was time to bust out the Circle Scissors Plus and give it a shot. OMG, I had no idea it was going to be that easy to use! This will definitely become one of my "go-to" tools like my Big Shot and Crop-A-Dile. As I was making this project, so... Continue reading
