Hi Suzanne,
yeah it was really odd to be there...no Grammy, no swing, aubergine-colored house, but same structure, same garage, same lawn and hedge and tree, neighborhood, and memories of so many years gone by. My husband was so sweet to let us stop, in the middle of an already hectic trip. What a guy. But hey, it was lunch-time and the Chester exit popped up at just the right moment...Of course I am picturing all of Grammys furniture inside, since I didnt go inside and get those memories disturbed with todays reality of the new people living there.
New England fall foliage - and my late grandmother's aubergine house
At David's newly acquired step-sister's house (his mother married her father in 2010 - a wonderful match, and a wonderful sister) - some beautiful foliage welcomed us. We squeezed in five minutes to stop by and gaze at the house my mother grew up in from age 12...and where I visited my g...
So glad you enjoyed reading it, Paul! It was totally amazing, and I loved all the renewed memories, from 24 26 years ago! It was perfect to wait until our youngest was 12 to do this. That was the minimum age for the bush walk, and both kids will remember this trip well, like I did from when I was 12. :-)
I was also thrilled that God answered my prayers that none of us got sick like you did when you were in Kenya...I had some trepidation about that, since Jason is so thin like you were at his age. But we were all healthy as can be the whole time, thanks be to God.
Lots of love,
Katherine
Paul (pin21@anotherstone.com) has left you a comment:Certainly brings back memories of the times we were there as a family. Great to read. Game Drive #8: Friday, October 15th, 5:45am-8:30am
It was so cold this morning that I was wearing jeans, T-shirt, woolly sweater, lined raincoat, two blankets, and a poncho draped over all that, by the end of the drive! It drizzled a little now and then, but the moist air felt and smelled lovely. The dry season is just coming to an end, and the...

How do you expect to have time to blog when so many people comment on your posts? It's a full-time job just reading the comments...and scrolling down to find the entry box to add another one...
I don't think I'm clever enough to find something suitably ironic, witty, satirical and fresh to say that hasn't already been said above...but I do enjoy your posts and your vibrant love for your wife and your honesty. Glad to see you're possibly going to write a few more posts before quitting. It took me a while to decipher the title...which was fun.
Ever since Facebook became so popular with so many in my circle of people, I've had a hard time taking the time and energy to blog, too - FB is so much quicker and easier...but rss feeds are great.
You Can't Keep Quitting if You Don't Quit Not Starting
For those who care, I'm a-fixin' to start writing here, again. Please bookmark it, or come back soon, or subscribe, or whatever. I just shelled out $90 to keep this blog. There are numerous reasons for this, not the least of which: 1. I apparently enjoy quitting blogging. I can't get th...
Where's the camel? Jesus looks like Robin Williams.
My Tuesday
This episode (your version) was so much better than your previous episode. You are really coming along in your film-making, group laughter and group sighing and wonderful ponytail drawings.
It's just a good thing I caught up on the episode before I read any of the other reader comments...talk about spoilers! But then I guess people know to stay away from the web entirely until they've caught up if they care about the 24 storyline...

Thanks for the feedback, Susan! Wow, I can see myself typing now...that's nice. Sorry you had to retype your information. Since it doesn't work with Firefox either, I'll try to get it back to how it was before...hopefully I don't break things worse.
Commenting problems
Update 11 Dec 08: Okay, I've restored it to how it used to be. So much for upgrading while something is still in beta. I really would like to offer the capacity for commenters to be notified of follow-up comments - I so appreciate that feature on other people's blogs. But it will have to wait a ...
By the way, you have to click in the light gray boxbehind the "Activity" box and then you'll see the cursor blinking. If you type far enough on the line, you can see the right hand edge of your comment. I wonder how many typos I have made?

Yeah, not so good. The entry box is hidden by another info box, and the preview shows nothing. But the comment does come through...
Struggling with Dativ and Akkusativ and Der-Die-Das-Den-Dem
I attended German class this morning as usual for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and was honest with the teacher: "It's a total guess for me as to which article to use!" In German it's not just "the" as in English. The dog, the door, the bed, the tables. Easy, right? And it's not as simple as French,...

Thank you! Yes, they are folded in half and you write inside. I often write the person's name on the front, under or around the picture.
Cards from Calendars
I had fun this afternoon making 56 simple greeting cards by cutting up old calendars and gardening catalogs. Therapeutic for someone who loves colors and flowers and correspondence. Here is my yield (the cards are lying on envelopes):
