About a month ago, I picked up Keri Smith's Everything is Connected during an insomnia-induced Amazon shopping stint. I've had the book sitting on my scrap table as a visual reminder to buy postcard stamps. I finally got around to... Continue reading

Such a great list, Lee! I'll be "borrowing" #12 - what a terrific idea.

Hope is finishing up her 4th year (she'll graduate in 5) at a university that is across the border & 15 hours away. It seemed impossible 4 years ago - but now it seems so normal. I can relate to the regret, but I also try to remind myself that I can begin again every day. My mother stopped mothering me in my teens - I don't plan to ever stop mothering Hope. Congrats to Aidan - and to you!!

My friends & I are playing a bit (okay, a lot) of catch-up on The Kitchn's Cooking Cure. It's a particularly interesting challenge for this group - we all love food (like, duh), but we all bring distinctly different preferences... Continue reading

We all know that it's the most untrue rhyme EVER - sticks & stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me. Substitute "words" for "names," and the adage fails even more. Words are powerful. I know this.... Continue reading
