In 2014, I met an incredibly handsome, intelligent, amazing guy...who happened to have 2 incredibly cute, loving, amazing small children. Having raised both of my children to be (nearly) adults, I wasn't sure that I was ready to "do it all again." Now, 2+ years later, Dan & I are... Continue reading

It has been a FULL week...and I mean full as in so many things, not full as in seven simple days. I feel like I have finally caught my breath. And then I read this article and was finally able... Continue reading

"Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make... Continue reading

Some of you may have seen Elizabeth Gilbert's Facebook post last week, pointing to Sarah Trimmer's Ted Talk. I'm a fan of any/all exercises that encourage hitting the pause button on life & remembering the good. Over the years, I've... Continue reading

It was a rainy, chilly weekend here...so we focused on indoor fun. We love the library! We came home with about a dozen books. Standouts - Walter the Farting Dog, and The Three Little Tamales. There is a cupcake shop... Continue reading

I've seen mention of the follow-up, but haven't read it. I would say that our biggest "breakthrough" has been eliminating snacks. We did have a weekend that we were gung-ho about introducing new foods (MC acted like she was being tortured by butternut squash soup), but honestly? We are choosing EASE over radical change right now. My big challenge with the Littles is their lack of table manners. It's a BIG DEAL to me (just ask my Bigs)...and just one of those life skills that I feel is super important. Good luck, friend!!

Wow - 90 days!? That's intense. I'd really need eggs for that long...90 days of only fish doesn't sound appealing. Omnivores have a lot more choices! Wishing you ALL the luck!!

Thoughts from Day 18 of Whole 30®... Even though I was eating fairly clean before...the strict rules of this program are no joke. Sneaky sugar is EVERYWHERE. Why in the world does dried fruit needed added sugar?? Commercially available salmon... Continue reading

I have experimented with a handful of eating "programs" over the last few years. I've done vegan challenges, raw challenges, no-alcohol challenges, and even (believe it or not), a no-coffee challenge. I find that challenges are the best way to... Continue reading
