wow, very nice. it's definately feeling very autumnal in my home city today.

Started in Nottingham last night - I live in a flat on top of Victoria Centre (about 450 flats over big shopping mall in the city centre) - didn't bother going to bed til 4am due to the sirens going non-stop. Mob tried to break into the main part of the shopping area, sealed off by shutters right next to the residential lifts. Police chased them away, but glass was everywhere this morning from the windows they smashed. St Anns, the area where most of the damage happened, is 5 minute walk away. Sirens non-stop again tonight, so don't think I'll be getting much more sleep. The high school up the road that I can see from my windows has been targetted, & a few fires set nearby, in residential areas & the a couple of the bigger shops in the main square are on fire. Apparently another police station was fire bombed tonight too. One plus though - no noisy drunks staggering up the road outside - too many cops around!

I tried to stay out of the rat race most of my life, though I accept the trade-off of working full time in order to not only pay the bills but have enough to enjoy experiences I wouldn't otherwise be able to e.g my trip to NY & AiA in Jan. I catch myself sometimes thinking "Shouldn't I be earning more/climbing the promotional ladder faster etc", but then hopefully, sanity returns & I remember I prefer working a 38 week year rather than a 52 week (at least my salary is annualised so I get the same income every month) even though the money isn't that great, most of the time my job is pretty enjoyable, though a certain amount of stress is inevitable, it could be a lot worse! I can walk to work, so haven't bothered with a car, & my expenses are pretty low. What's the point of money/status, if I didn't have the mental health to enjoy it!

I remember that place! Great food & friendly staff. Myself, Lisa & other friends went there in between parts 1 & 2 of AiA. We ended up sitting in the next booth along from Zach :-) I see the snow's still piled up in NY. Surreal to think I was there, now, but a memory I'll keep for sure.

Breath taking. Just watched your clip on youtube, along with several others posted there about Angkor Wat temples. What an experience that must be.
