tonight was a fun night in our household... hunter and i appeared on the CMT show Kortney and Dave By Request. the segment was taped over skype four days after hunter was released from hospital following his cardiac surgery. i follow the wilsons on facebook and love their shows and they were looking for requests from new moms so i wrote in with our story. it touched their hearts and made them cry so they wanted to have us on! it was so fun to tape and even more fun to look back on it now and see how far... before i became a mama i often heard about routine and how important it was to get your baby on a schedule as soon as possible and stick to that schedule. apparently it makes everyone's life easier. before hunter i totally bought into that theory. and then there was him and we decided right off the bat that we weren't doing the breastfeed every three to four hours. we decided that he would dictate when we breastfed. and he did. and it generally worked out to every three or four hours, but there was no way we were waking him... i can't believe it but this week we are sliding into the third trimester. it's still so surreal. i feel kicks, i feel hiccups and we've seen the ultrasounds and yet most days i still can't believe i have a little turkey growing inside. this feels like such a huge milestone. i am so thankful to be here. the first trimester was rough, in more ways than one. i was grateful to be on bedrest so the only thing i needed to worry about was growing a baby. most days had me green with nausea and completely exhausted. on top... my hottie and i had the GREATEST evening last night. it was so nice to have a somewhat impromptu date night. you see all of our outings over the past four months have mainly revolved around doctor's appointments or are carefully planned out for weeks. last night we went out JUST CUZ and it was divine! i have loved the town of merrickville since the first time i step foot there. it is such a quaint little place to visit. it almost feels like you are stepping back in time. my very favourite is to visit the town around thanksgiving...
