Hi there! It's my turn to host this week's Papertrey Ink Design Team Tips! One of my favorite things to make and give as a gift is a card set! With Fall and the upcoming Holidays right around the corner, I find that I am always in need of small gifts to give! From hostess and Thanksgiving to neighbor or birthday gifts, a card set is always a good idea! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite ways to package a mini card set along with detailed instructions on how to create it. My go-to packaging for mini note card sets it this little book holder. They are so fun to create and very easy to customize. Once you make a couple of them, you will be able to adjust the size of the pockets to accommodate different card thickness, sizes, or quantity. For the outside cover, I decorated it... Continue reading

Welcome back to the fifth and final day of the Papertrey Ink August release countdown posts! Tomorrow, August 15th, at 10 pm ET all of the new products will be available for puchase! Today I'm featuring the new Forest Floor: Autumn stamp set, designed by Lizzie Jones. I love any set that has leaves in it...but add in a pretty frame and I'm a complete goner! :-) This set is an absolute must have for me! If I could make Autumn cards all year long then I would be a happy camper! I just had to stamp alllll the leaves! I actually started out with the intention of just adding a few but as you can see I got a bit carried away! Ha! After tucking the leaves underneath the sentiment frame, I adhered them onto a Dark Chocolate layer die cut with the new Shape Shifters: Circle 3 die.... Continue reading

For the background, I used the Stencil Basics: Dots to add even more tone on tone color. I die cut the top Scarlet Jewel layer... Continue reading

Hi friends! I'm up over at the Papertrey Ink blog today, sharing my take on this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge! One of my favorite things about the Transformation Tuesday challenge is that is helped me to view my cards differently. Sometimes there are cards that don't necessarily turn out the way I had pictured and it's fun to get a chance to try again. This card wasn't like that. In fact, it was one of my favorites. But being season specific (Christmas), the design was limited. I thought the design would work great for a bright summer card as well so I took this opportunity to give it a try! I used the summer version of the Beautiful Berries set and added in some Stitching Garden flowers for even more color. I love how this turned out and seeing as there is a Beautiful Berries set for every season I... Continue reading

Good morning friends! I'm participating in this week's Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday! We are featuring the Hooray stamp set. Hooray is one of those classic sets that can be used for just about any type of celebration! I mean, who doesn't love streamers!?! :-) For my card today, I used the Hooray stamp set to create a masculine birthday card. I chose gray, black, and gold for the colors which are masculine but still elegant. I embossed the streamers onto the background layer using both black and gold detail embossing powders. I die cut the 54 using the By the Numbers Mats die set. The Celebrate sentiment (from the Birthday Cheer die set) is die cut using the Luxe Gold Adhesive paper. I added another sentiment (from the Hooray stamp set) that I embossed in gold on to a strip of True Black cardstock. For embellishment, I added a few... Continue reading

Hi friends! I'm participating in today's Simple to Spectacular post! In this post, I will share with you three progressive card designs all featuring the Vintage Linens stamp set. Oh how I love the Vintage Linens stamp set! With both the bold and outline images included, this set really lends itself to so many different styles. I have really been on a pink kick lately, so admittedly my cards today are very....well, pink! Ha! I'm going to be honest and tell you that the simple cards are the hardest for me to make! I think I have an addiction to layers and it is HARD to not add them! So because I was trying to limit myself here, I decided to layer with ink instead. I used the Stencil Basics: Dots and Lovely Lady ink for the background. The Celebrate die cut is from the Bold Borders: Wave die set.... Continue reading

Good morning! Welcome back to another Papertrey Ink July release countdown post! Today I'm sharing a card with the new Glorious Globes: July stamp set. All of the new products being showcased today will be available July 15th at 10 pm ET. I am SO loving Lizzie's Glorious Globes collection! I think my favorite thing about them is how well they all work together! I used two of the globe images from the Glorious Globes: July stamp set and die cut them out with the Glorious Globes: Basic die set. The sentiment is from Dawn's new Ombre Sentiments: Thinking of You stamp set. I thought this particular sentiment went will with the "My Home is With You" sentiment on one of the globes. Those detailed frames are die cut from the new Pierced Feature Frames die set. This is one die set is a definitely must have! I LOVE adding... Continue reading

All of the new products being showcased today will be available July 15th at 10 pm ET. My first card features the new Shape Shifters: Square 2 die set along with the Sentiment Staples: Thinking of You stamp set. Betsy's Shape Shifters die collection are so lovely and detailed, they often can be the only focal image needed! I wanted the die cut to really shine, so I used black cardstock for it and placed it on a white card base. With these colors, it almost has a modern Art Deco look to it and I absolutely love it! For the sentiment, I embossed a couple of the stamps from the Sentiment Staples:... Continue reading

Good morning! Welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink July release countdown posts! Today I'm featuring the new Fence Line: Summer and Never Enough: Thanks stamp sets. All of the new products being showcased today will be available June 15th at 10 pm ET. For my first card, I used both the new Fence Line: Summer and Never Enough: Thanks stamp sets. I grew up not too far from the Oregon Coast and this set brings back such lovely memories of my time there! The sentiment is from the the new Never Enough: Thanks set, illustrated by Dawn McVey. Good morning! Today is the last of the Papertrey June product introduction! We are sharing projects created with the new Bold Basics collection! Kimberly Crawford has designed a stamp set and stencil collection that is modern, graphic, and so very versatile! For my card, I used both the stencils and stamp set to create an ombre inspired square card. I stenciled on different shades of pink/burgundy onto a square card base. I stamped the lined triangle image in a coordinating color onto each sponged triangle. For the focal image, I embossed the diamond image and sentiment onto vellum and then cut it out. For embellishment, I added some wood pieces that I found in my stash. To see more of the Bold Basics collection make sure to check out the Papertrey Ink blog! Thanks for stopping by, Laurie Continue reading

Hi there! I'm hosting this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge. It's a super easy technique but one that I really love. :-) I love to create shadow backgrounds, ones where I stamp in a neutral color and then add coordinating and colorful focal images. Here's the video... Publish For my first card, I stamped several of the Butterfly Folk Outline images in a soft gray ink to create the background. For the focal images, I stamped and die cut three of the butterflies from the Butterfly Folk stamp set. The sentiment is a die cut using the Ways to Say: Thinking of You die. For my second card, I stamped the largest flower from the Especially You stamp set two times on the background Weathervane layer. To add a bit more texture, I splattered on some white paint over the background. For the focal images, I die cut... Continue reading

When I first saw Melanie's newest set, I was so moved by the illustration. I'm not exactly sure I can adequately describe it, but there is just so much emotion expressed in the girl's face. From the moment I first saw this set, I just couldn't wait to create a black and white card with it! There is something whimsical yet elegant about these flowers, which works so well with black and white! :-) For my second card I started by stamping the flowers using on Parakeet and Lime Green. Hi friends! Today I'm sharing two cards featuring the new Circle Shaped Shaker Set from Queen & Co. This set contains everything you need (including the lovely dies and stamp set) to create lovely circle shaped shaker cards! All you need to add is your favorite toppings! I hand cut some leaves out of green cardstock and tucked them underneath the circle flowers. My second card also features the new Circle Shaped Shaker Set. I just love the stamp set that comes with this set! It has a lovely mix of fonts and includes sentiments for any occasion! I embellished the circle with both flowers and Lollies!
