Welcome to the third day of inspiration featuring the new August Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing a card and giftie created with the new Wicked Elixir stamp set. Lizzie's new Wicked Elixir set is so fun! There are so many ways to customize this set as all of the sentiments and labels are interchangeable! There is even the option to add little stoppers to the bottles...how fun is that? I started by stenciling the background using the new Stencil Basics: Dots and some glossy black texture paste. I just love the look of tone-on-tone patterns! I added a strip of the new Bitty Basics: True Black patterned paper and then adhered a row of the bottles on top. I dressed up the little... Continue reading

It's the second day on inspiration featuring the new August Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing cards created with the new Kind Of Corny and Autumn Scarecrow stamp sets. I am head over heels in love with Betsy's new Kind Of Corny stamp set! First, the corn images are so unique! I love how there are different options, including the bold corn with sentiments! Second...that frame! Oh my goodness, it's going to be a staple for me year round! If you were on the fence about getting the coordinating Kind Of Corny die set, let me tell you that this frame alone makes it worth it! I plan on using it with many of the Quoted series stamps as well as the Year of... Continue reading

Welcome to the first day of inspiration posts featuring the brand new August Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing cards created with the new Sunflower Harvest and Beautiful Berries: Autumn stamp sets. My first card features the new Sunflower Harvest stamp set, illustrated by Nichole Heady. Sunflowers are such a timeless flower and definitely one of my favorites! I especially love how this set comes with three different sized flowers! I created a sunflower wreath by die cutting and stamping ten of the smaller blooms. I alternated between a lighter and darker yellow when I adhered them on the card. I tucked in several of the small leaves for some added color. The sentiment is from the new Ways to Say: Thinking of You... Continue reading

Hi friends! It's day four of the August Papertrey Ink countdown and I have three projects to share with you today featuring the new Bite Size Tags and Truffle Box Dies. I have really been looking forward to this release! I love all things Fall and I couldn't be more excited about all of the products this month! All of the new products will be available at 10 pm EST on August 15 in the Papertrey Ink store. One of my favorite things about Autumn is all of the baked goods! I love, love, love to bake and the cooler temperatures and slower pace of this season means that I'm frequently in my kitchen whipping up something to share with family and friends! So when I saw the new Bite Size Tags stamp set, I knew immediately that I wanted to create some tags to keep on hand for my... Continue reading

This weekend we are celebrating Jen's birthday with two full days of Reverse Confetti inspiration! Not only that, but Jen is also offering 20% your entire order! I know, I know...it's still technically summer. But honestly, I'm already looking forward to Fall! So of course I couldn't wait to ink up some o f my favorite Reverse Confetti and create a Fall themed card! I started by inking up the pumpkin (from the Pumpkin Patch stamp set) using Bumblebee, Tangerine, Rust, Brick, Lime Green, Olive, and Dark Roast ink pads. I tucked in several flowers and leaves (stamped using the Blooms 'N Buds stamp set) with the following RC ink pads: Bumblebee, Rust, Wine, Iced Aqua, Lagoon, Parakeet, Olive, Avocado, and Abyss. I adhered the flowers and pumpkin on top of a white layer that I die cut using one of the Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts dies and... Continue reading

Hi there! Can you believe it's August already? This month we are sharing creations made with a favorite color combo! With all of the brand new ink colors released last month, there are SO many amazing colors to choose from! Blues and greens are some of my absolute favorites right now, so it was so easy for me to choose Lagoon, Island Blue, and Parakeet. I started by die cutting three frames from the All Framed Up Confetti Cuts die and sponging them with those three colors. I added a matching leaf (stamped with the Build A Bunch stamp set and die cut with the Build A Bunch Confetti Cuts die set) to each frame. For the sentiment, I embossed the hi (from the Sentiment Essentials stamp set) and die cut it out using the Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts die set. Ready for more inspiration? Here's the list of Confetti... Continue reading

Hi friends! This week, the Bella Blvd Creative Team is being challenge to create projects using scraps! This is a wonderful challenge for me as I always keep all of my paper scraps. I mean, the paper is just too pretty to toss! :-) I have two cards to share with you, both of them featuring lots and lots of paper scraps! For my first card, I did one of my favorite things with scraps...tear the bottom and layer them on top of each other! The white torn edge helps to differentiate the different patterns and gives a visual break without adding extra cardstock mats. I embellished with several Paper Pieces from the Illustrated Faith Basics collection. My second card features scraps from the Make Your Mark collection (one of my favorites)! The gold "Believe In Yourself" sentiment is actually the bottom of one of the 6 x 8 Paper... Continue reading

I also love the caaaauuuuute little flowers! :-) For the background, I die cut the Drop Cover Panel Confetti Cuts die out of Piggy Bank cardstock. Hey friends! I'm hosting this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge! One of my favorite techniques is color blocking and today I'm sharing my top three ways to achieve this look! You can find more details about the challenge over at Nichole Heady's blog. In the video, I shared three ways to achieve the color blocking look: using cardstock, using ink, and with stamping. For this card, I painted the background using watercolor paint. Even though I did lightly blend the colors together, you can still see the three distinct rectangles of color. :-) I used the Cloche Quarters and Cloche Quarters: Summer Fillers for the focal image and one of the sentiments form the Pen & Ink stamp set. This card features bold strips of color for the background. Using cardstock is definitely my favorite way of color blocking. The focal images are from the new Fruit Salad:... Continue reading

Hi there! I'm popping in with a couple of fun and bright cards to share with you featuring lots of Queen & Co goodies! I absolutely love color! That is one of my favorite things about Queen & Co...all the beautiful colors! I created a shaker card using the Balloons Shaker Kit and Balloons Card Front Die. My favorite part about creating shaker cards is adding the toppings! I added three different kinds to the balloons: Pops, Fimo Fun, & Tiny Bubbles. Supplies: Balloons Shaker Kit, Balloons Card Front Die, Pops Topping Set, Tiny Bubbles Topping Set, Fimo Fun Topping Set My next card is a clean and simple card with pops of bright, cheerful colors. I started by die cutting the film strip (from the Say Cheese Shaped Shaker set). I then added some Red and Yellow Wallflowers and a couple of Yellow Sparklers. I grounded the die cut... Hi friends! I'm so thrilled to be filling in for the super sweet Melissa Phillips to bring you the latest Design Team Tips installment! It's no secret, I have a "thing" for black cardstock! I absolutely love it and find myself reaching for it often while creating. A while ago, I started to notice a trend in the photos I was saving to my inspiration Pinterest board. Over half of the photos I had saved all had a black or very dark background. But what makes them so appealing to me is the fact that they are almost always paired with bright, bold, or even pastel colors! There is just something about the contrast of the colors that appeals to me. I have created two cards to share with you today, both featuring very dark backgrounds along with bold and bright colors! For my first card, I started with my... Continue reading

Welcome to the fifth and final day of the July inspiration posts featuring the brand new Papertrey Ink release! Today I'm sharing two cards created with the new Year Of Psalms: July and Mountain Majesty stamp sets, both illustrated by Betsy Veldman. Living in Montana at the base of the Rockies, I have a special appreciation for mountains! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't look out my window and see my mountains! :-) So you can just imagine the joy I felt when I first saw Betsy's Mountain Majesty stamps and dies! The new Cover Plate: Mountain Majesty is pure genius! I love the cutouts that create the serene scene and the added stitching detail around the solid part is just lovely! I embossed the Year Of Psalms: July sentiment onto the watercolor panel that I had already die cut. I then added some color using... Continue reading

Welcome back to day four of the July inspiration posts featuring the brand new Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing two cards created with the new Fruit Salad stamp set along with the new On The Wagon stamp set and coordinating die set. The new Fruit Salad collection is SO much fun!! The dies are perfectly sized to make a statement! For the background, I sponged on some Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal ink. Afterwards, I splattered it with gold paint. For the pineapple, I started by die cutting the bottom layer and then sponging with different yellow inks. I layered the die cut top part of the pineapple on top (die cut from gold cardstock).. I embossed the large Hello sentiment (from the... Continue reading

Welcome back to day three the July inspiration posts featuring the brand new Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing a card created with the new Stemmed Sentiments stamp set and coordinating die set. There are so many things that I love about the new Stemmed Sentiments stamp set! My favorite thing about them is their size! They are small enough to fit on a card, but large enough to really make a statement! The detail dots inside each image is another favorite. With their open design, they lend themselves to so many different styles! If you love to color then you will love theme! They look fantastic embossed or left uncolored as well! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! Today I'm sharing a card created with the new Cloche Quarters: Summer Fillers stamp set and coordinating die set. The Cloche Quarters line is so beautiful and completely unique! I think my favorite thing about them is how versatile they are, making it easy to mix and match between sets. And in usual Betsy Veldman style, there are so many thoughtful details making the Cloche Quarters: Summer Fillers a must have! I have a thing for old watering cans. I absolutely love them!! While I don't have room to collect them in real life, I'm thrilled to have an image of one! So of course this was the very first... Continue reading

Today I'm sharing a card created with the new Give Love stamp set and coordinating die set. I am totally smitten with the new Give Love stamp set (illustrated by Heather Nichols)! This super cute bird and flower set is the perfect mix of beautiful and rustic! I wanted to create some sun rays so I did a little bit of sponging. I used the edge of a piece of scrap paper and sponged on the yellow. For the banner, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Give Love set onto the banner from the Tag Sale: Quilted banner.
