Movie Review: Super
I watched this the other night. I didn't particularly like it. I didn't hate it, but it left me feeling more toward the negative side of neutral. It started out okay. It had Nathan Fillion. Rainn Wilson is okay, but not my fave. I do like Ellen Page. So let's... Continue reading

Getting Over the Hump
The work week after a 3-day weekend always seems to last forever b/cwe can't keep our days straight. FYI, it's Wednesday. Just in case you thought it was Tuesday or even Thursday. Here's some things to keep you amused while you try to get through the middle of this ever... Continue reading

The Doctor's new companion is WHO???
According to iMDB, the Doctor's new companion (played by Jenna-Louise Colman): I. Have. SOOOO. Many. Thoughts. OMC! a.) This is Rose's little sister because Jackie was pregnant the last time we saw her. At Bad Wolf Bay in Doomsday Rose said so. b.) It's almost too much and too awkward... Continue reading

Dream Home : House
My dream home, if I'm ever crazy rich is going to be AWESOME- wait for it... SAUCE. There are so many awesomely geeky homes out there I can't decide! I'm short so I could live like a Hobbit: This guy is probably the standard all geek wives will now hold... Continue reading

Happy Star Wars Day!
I usually manage to forget about this every year. I see people tweeting about it all day but it never clicks until the end of the day when I finally read whatever post Wil Wheaton has for the day. And by then it's too late to care because I'm getting... Continue reading

Being a Great Geek...
...Is like being a hipster. It's being an awesome fan without trying hard. It's discovering new fandoms you can't believe you weren't a part of earlier. It's having your husband teach you a board game he's talked about incessantly for the nearly 6.5 years you've known him, that you've avoided... Continue reading

The New Kitty
VIDEO0104.3gp Watch on Posterous I found the cutest little kitty at the flea market. It's just an old hard plastic figurine with felted fur, and it has a pull string that makes it mew. When I brought it home I set it on the coffee table for Missy to check... Continue reading

Game Review: The Biggest Loser Challenge for Wii
I bought this "game" last Sunday. I've been doing workouts off and on for the last year and a half using Wii Fit. It's a lot of fun, but I've never really found it that challenging. There's nothing that ever really encourages you to come back every day. It just... Continue reading

Suggestions, anyone?
You might notice I recently (as in yesterday) redesigned my blogs and everything I was capable of designing. I wanted a unified design so it all looks the same and there's no doubt it's GeekishlyApropos. But I have to ask, how does it look? Is it okay? Too bare? To... Continue reading

The Hunger Games
via themovieblog.com Am I too old to hang posters in my bedroom? If you actually pay attention to anything I post on Twitter or Facebook you'll know I'm one of the many Hunger Games fans. I started reading the book about two weeks before the movie premiered. Well, more like... Continue reading

Yes, this.
Can someone explain the point of Instagram to me? Why was I so excited? Oh, I'll still use it, but just because I waited so long for it. Continue reading

Because, not only am I a geek, I'm a dork.
I thought this was interesting. I finally got all my stuff set up so I can make one post and it's autoposted or linked in all the appropriate places. What's also interesting to me is that when using Posterous in Chrome I don't get the little squiggles under misspelled words... Continue reading

I totally recall not caring until now.
Okay, so some time ago, back when I was in high school (wow, I've been out for 9 years!), I attempted watching Total Recall when it aired on TV. I don't remember it even being vaguely interesting. It must not have been since I was ended up going back to... Continue reading

1. Congrats!
2. I totally get what you're saying about selfish nature. I tend to be the nice person that will do something for others just because it needs done and I know they won't do it, but I do admit to getting frustrated that others don't do what *they* need to be doing. I guess I'm begrudgingly nice sometimes. But even if what I do is taken for granted, at least I get that good feeling afterward for having done it.
Life Lesson From Elsie: Selflessness
Elsie and I have been dating for several years now, and I've learned so much about life and friendship from her. Yeah, I know, everyone says that. Now that we are engaged, I've been doing a lot of reflecting on this person that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, and the things that I...
Totally understand not wanting to touch people and get sick at a Con. I got Mono in college on a flight back from an expo. Yayz. It's been 3 years and I still occasionally have symptoms so I don't particularly like being around sick people either.
So wish I could be at GenCon, tho. Or any con. Meh. Work.
Game on: GenCon info, chapbooks, and dice. Lots and lots of dice.
I leave for GenCon in about 3d12 hours. While I'm not thrilled about getting up at 4am on Thursday, knowing that the reward for dragging myself out of bed at areyoufuckingserious o'clock is three days of gaming and geeking makes it all worthwhile. I'm blessing dice, taking pictures, and signing ...
