Here's a great fast and easy summer kids quilt that I whipped up in just a couple of hours. I used The Three Bears Fabric Collection designed by children's book author Paul Meisel. Following the original Turning Twenty pattern I was able to make the quilt top in about three hours. Who doesn't love instant gratification sewing. I decided to leave out the borders as I didn't want the quilt any larger. It measures 48" X 64", perfect size for baby or toddler. This would make a great baby gift or birthday gift for a little one. You can order... Continue reading

Introducing one of our newest collections Haberdasher by Brian Haggard. At a young age, Brian was given a sewing machine by his parents, from which many projects were born. His pastime was making handcrafted items, with inspiration coming from just about anything in the universe. It has been a natural progression for him to create his textile works. He is best known for his memory quilts, taking old photos and incorporating them in to the design. Then he embelishes them with ribbons, embroidery thread and vintage sewing notions. The following are photos of Brian's creations that will inspire you. You... Continue reading

For those of you who haven't heard of Quilt Con, it is the international conference and show by and for The Modern Quilt Guild. There was a juried modern quilt show with cash prizes, vendors, lectures, workshops from top modern quilters, and more. It was a lot of fun. Not only were lots of modern quilts on display there were lots of quilting celebrities and royalty. As you can see I... Continue reading

I tried to find the most appropriate quilt to show you on Valentine's Day . This one seems to fit the bill. The pattern is "Charming Log Cabin" by The Threaded Pear and the fabric is Country Lane designed by Bari J. Yes, we still have it in stock. This is a great pattern to use if you want to whip up a fast quilt and show off the charming and romantic florals of the fabric. It's a modern take on the traditional log cabin quilt. Forget the candy, flowers and jewelry. A quilt is the perfect gift! Happy Valentine's... Continue reading

Our super sewer Cindy did all the sewing. The patterns are really easy to follow and if you start now you can have one ready for the summer. Continue reading

Here's a little sneak peek of a quilt that I'm hurraying to finish. One of my favorite stages of quilting is hand sewing the binding. I find it very therapeutic. Stay tuned for the finished quilt............ Garden Patch Cat Block #13- Broc-Kitty. I think he's the only one of the series that we don't have a sample of in the store. I guess this is the next project to whip up. So much sewing, so little time. Continue reading
