Breaking up really isn't that hard to do...if it's with APS. Hey APS, listen, we need to talk. This whole "will they, won't they" game over the past year has been super fun but I think it's time we start to see other people. I want you to know that... Continue reading

I've been a married women since I was 21 years old. Before then I only "dated" three boys while in high school.* I don't even know if I should count the first Phil I dated. Ok, how about I only "dated" two and a half boys while in high school.... Continue reading

I hate parents. This is something that is very common for teachers to feel/think/express. Most people think it's the kids that stress teachers out but actually it's the parents. Not just parents but adults in general. With our students we have to give them some slack because they are young... Continue reading

I love what I do. I love talking about history and I love teaching my students. I go to bed nearly every night feeling not only exhausted but fulfilled. That feeling is hard to find. But right now I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of orange rubrics. I'm... Continue reading

So this weekend marks my 7 year wedding anniversary with Phil. We haven't really been able to see much of each other lately and so for this mighty occasion, we've decided to spend the weekend at home with our very own little "stay cation". Before you start huffing and puffing,... Continue reading

I will love you but only on the inside I will not look longingly into your eyes I will not wait for you to notice me I will not find comfort in your embrace I will not find joy in your simple acts of kindness I will love you but... Continue reading

Hello all! In this entry,I'll start off by telling a story about some recent events in my life. I should probably point out that I've been listening to This American Life a lot today so that might be why this entry has a different tone than ones in the past.... Continue reading

Me: Hello Brain. Why have you decided to wake up after days of being asleep? Brain: That is because you took a nap today. Me: I slept for nearly 12 hours the day before and you were still able to be quiet when it was time for bed. Besides, my... Continue reading

As I write this entry, I found myself in a unique situation. My 4 year old twin nephews are spending the week with me so I decided to use this time as a sort of experiment to see if I would like being a mom. Yes, I know there is... Continue reading

I couldn't seem to find any when I was in Japan. Tour guide: Well I guess we shouldn't have dropped that... Continue reading

I am in a quandary. Why are there so many jerks on the internet? I shall take this question even further, are these jerks ruining the internet for the rest of us? You may be asking yourself, "Why Lena, what on earth do you mean by jerks?" I'll answer that... Continue reading

I think everyone dancing to Kiss Off was my favorite part of the Geek Prom. I even managed to get my husband out on the dance floor and we danced like dorks! A most excellent prom. The TNG Reunion was by far my favorite panel. Me and a group of friends kind of all agree that we would have rather just listened you the three of you interact instead of the Q & A which got a little awkward at points. However, the part where you told the guy, "Good day" was fantastic and that story has been retold many times over. Just brilliant.
