Happy to be who I am. Content. Random. Just me.

I've lost count of the times I've posted that I'll be back with this or that and not showed up! My good intentions here often get rescheduled in real life, not only with work stuff but with the kids and my private life too. So many wonderful things are happening to me and my children and with Christmas almost upon us we find ourselves lunged into another area of life that makes our house move a seeming thing of the distant past. However, as this blog is more than just an online waffle journal I will catch up....when I have... Continue reading

Back online and i'm loving it! All moved house now, almost unpacked and many changes have taken place in our lives...all of which will be revealed soon as I catch my breath with it all. The blog is undoing some css facelifting after deciding to stay with them until further notice so thats why its looking a bit erm bare? So much to tell, so much to share and so much to show.....bookmark me and come back soon, i'll be updating on Friday and revealing the next competition!! ;) ~*~Debs~*~ Continue reading

I've been stressing over the lack of my personality on this blog pretty much since I decided to switch from blogger to typepad and while typepad is a very good host with lots of wonderful things I just dont think it is really what I want. Yes there are some fun backgrounds but nothing that I can edit/adapt to my style/needs. I want to choose what my blog looks like, what is on the sidebars, what the title bars look like etc and unless I am prepared to learn CSS I am pretty much dictated to by typepads own contribution.... Last week Charley started staying at schools for lunch. This has always been a challenge for me because I like to watch over when he eats because far too often he is just too eager to get onto the next thing and often food is the first thing to be raced through. Then I had an idea as I was working through what foods to actually put in his lunch box to entice him to finish up. (How did my lil dude get to be so grown up anyway?) So whilst browsing Tesco for some healthy but fun snacks I... Continue reading

Taken from About In 1842, the Prophet Joseph Smith wrote 13 brief statements summarizing some of the basic doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He then delivered the statements to Mr. John Wentworth, publisher of the Chicago Democrat, for publication. However, the statements were never published in the Chicago Democrat. They were instead published in the March edition of the Church newspaper, Times and Seasons. Then, in 1851, the articles were published in the first edition of the Pearl of Great Price and became official doctrine of the Church in 1880 when the Pearl of Great... Continue reading

Originally I was going to post 41 facts about me today, given that its my 41st birthday. But today is my total day of rest. Ok, I am going back to bed after waking up with one cracking headache that feels like i'm being electricuted! So i'm not going to post, much. The kids have plans. Not sure what yet but I have been informed to steer clear of the back of the manor for a few hours. I'm not worrying though. Charley is in school and i'm going to my bed to die for a while. Maybe i'll do... Continue reading

Psychology sucks. The day I packed up my craft stuff I started thinking about layouts, handmade books and altered items. The day I took my craft stuff...all 18 large boxes...I had design ideas, layout ideas, technique ideas and a strong desire to sit at my desk and just play, create and express myself. But I cant. I am 23 miles from the house and I have chosen to take my car off the road for a while so they aren't accessible to me till I have actually moved. Which isn't going to be till the 26th October. Darn. So I... Continue reading

My good friend and fellow homemaker, Angie is probably the only person I know who can make a simple meal into a feast, work full time and still raise three happy children in the gospel, play on facebook and still hold a social life...this chick is phenominal...and I have hooked her to share some of what she does best with us....note I say 'some' cos trust me, if I can talk for England, she can talk for America!! :) Debbie asked me to write a guest blog post for her, but gave me no topic. LOL I've debated on what... Continue reading

This weekend is the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I am so looking forward to it! Not only do we get direction and inspiration from our beloved Prophet, President Thomas S Monson but we get to hear from many great church leaders on a vast range of subjects. Contrary to popular belief we are not told what to do or how to live, we are being guided and urged to raise ourselves up to the standard that God knows we each have. We are inspired to keep going, love and help one... Continue reading

A year ago I decided it was about time to get my finances in some kind of order so I would never run into a situation that would catch me out again. After a very trying year and half, both financially and emotionally I knew there had to be a process in which recovering from divorce meant recovering from the knock on effects too. So I made a plan, I sat with it for hours, sifting papers, punching numbers in the calculator, sweet talking on the phone and all manner of fun boring things. A week later I finally transferred... It's not often anyone will hear me say 'I want' but there are some really cool things out there that I would love to have. I'm not a materialistic person in an obsessional way but the Libra in me definitely appreciates nice, pretty things as well as practical and functional things too. So i'm starting my own Wish List category just for my own purpose when this blog is printed into its book form...call it a way of remembering what I liked when, or just simply call it a Wish List. Whatever!! The fact that is my birthday very, very... Continue reading

Usually I have given an account of the day I had each child on their birhtday, this time i'm not going to. Simply because I still find the whole experience emotional, 5 years on. Instead I want to focus on the visual side to my little man coming into this world and where he is today. Another time I may well write and share my experiences but not today. To my special little man New born: Age 1 Age 2 Age 3 Age 4 Age 5 Anyone that knows Charley in person knows he is a kid unlike no other.... Continue reading

We all know how fast kids grow up, how quickly time flies for us parents and as i'm not about to state anything new and earth shattering I have to say that I too am wondering where the last 13 years have gone to. 13 years ago I was sat on my hospital bed, staring at my beautiful, much longed for baby girl recovering from a short 4 hour labour. A few times before I actually gave birth, I had been admitted to hospital for false labour. This got tedious so then she decided to lay on my sciatic nerve... Continue reading

Just because I can, I am going to post a few photos of my new house.....of which we are slowly moving into one car load at a time. Why? Because by doing it this way I will be eliminating the 'living in boxes' scenario if I done it all in one day. So far we have almost all of the smaller stuff from this house over there and as of Wednesday I am taking certain items of furniture that will fit in my car, unpacking a few more boxes and putting up the 3 shelving systems, new blinds and all... Facebook is my sanity right now. Without such interactions on all kinds of subjects and silliness I think I would have gone on meltdown. Why? Because right now we are moving slowly into our new house....one car load at a time. My theory was to do the small stuff gradually then on the final date get a van to move the big stuff but guess what? I lost my bag, purse, cards, driving licence and everything else. As I cant provide the bank with ID I cant withdraw any cash till the new bank card comes. I dont carry cash... Continue reading
