I'm just glad you and Anne didn't get raped and stuffed into laundy bags. Truck stops make me nervous. Then again I guess I shouldn't believe everything I see in scary movies. Although I have to say about the dreamcatcher... its pretty bad-a. Not gonna lie. I would proudly hang it in my house. You should have bought it. Its a classic truck stop souvenir.
in place of a title, imagine the sound of a howling wolf
I'm going to be traveling like crazy for the next several weeks, so last week Anne and I took a couple days off to have a quick two day getaway. We went out to this hotel in the desert that we like, and spent about 36 hours sitting by the pool, doing a whole lot of nothing. It was glorious. The ...
When I first read the title I couldn't help but imagine that old man saying "SCIENCE!!" Ahhh the joy the one hit wonders of the 80's brought us.
science ... SCIENCE!

Speaking of H.P. Lovecraft! That's just hilarious.. wow so glad you posted that. Hmm.. I wonder how many Cthulhu's are on here.. *evil music comes in.* Muahahahahahahah.
"Don't trust anyone you meet online. You could regret it."

Damnit I missed it! What is the name of the episode? I'll have to keep an eye out for a re-run...
Leverage - The Two Live Crew Job
Early feedback from tonight's episode of Leverage is overwhelmingly positive, which delights me. I'm so happy to hear that so many people liked it. If you've seen the show already, you may get a kick out of the pictures I took during production and just added to Flickr, but there are spoilers, s...
Oh wow I am so sorry Wil. I remember reading how you first found Ferris... that saddens me deeply. I've lost several animals in my life but I doubt any of them were as good as Ferris. Good luck on feeling better...
in which some comfort is found
I saw Ferris' empty dish last night when I fed Riley, and it unleashed an agonizing wave of sadness so overwhelming, I dropped to the floor in our living room and cried as hard and as long as I ever have in my life. After she was finished eating, Riley came over to me and sniffed at my face. Th...
Wow! That was great. I love the actual Take On Me song. I SOO wish my Captain America comic book would come to life! He'd kick ass. Morten Harket kinda reminded me of Patrick Swayze in this video. That was brilliant what Anne did. She seems pretty clever =] If I ever done stuff like that no one would know what I'm talkin about. Oh yeah, BTW your lucky they had one orange juice left for you! My Eggo Maple Syrup cereal has been out for like 3 weeks. I'm getting tired of waiting. But for now I've settled for Fruit Loops with Marshmallows and Captain Crunch. =]
everything's drawn and super 80s
Anne and I went to the grocery store this afternoon. When it was time to get the orange juice, there was only one left, and it was way in the back of the cooler. I reached in really far to get it, and as I did, Anne began to sing the chorus from Take On Me. If you follow me on Twitter, you alrea...
OH MY GOD. Thats so freakin ironic because I was gonna bring up how I remembered reading all this in Just A Geek and how much I could relate to it. And you just so happened to re-write it. Gosh that is wayy to ironic. WELL anyway like I was gonna say I can really relate to that.. We went to a local fireworks show this year though. And I imagined you and your family on the rooftop watching fireworks, as you had mentioned you did in Just A Geek as well. Well, I hope you and your family had a WONDERFUL 4th of July! I'm pretty tired of hearing "God Bless The U.S.A" by Lee Greenwood now. Luckily at the local show they did play my type of music including "We're An American Band" by Grand Funk Railroad and "Great Balls Of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis. =]
from the vault: fireworks
This was originally written and published on July 5, 2002, which simultaneously feels like years and days ago. When I was growing up, we always spent Fourth of July with my father's aunt and uncle, at their fabulous house in Toluca Lake. It was always a grand affair and I looked forward to spend...
Oh my gosh your so funny Wil! I still read Highlights too except I hate when the kids have already marked the right answers on the page and stuff because I wanted to give the right answers to everyone else.
more than meets the eye
Yesterday, I went to the dentist, and while I was waiting, I picked up a copy of Highlights (because that's what you do when you're at the dentist, whether you're 6 or 36.) I went directly to the hidden pictures page, confirmed that, yes, children are still circling the hidden pictures and they ...
Your welcome!! I havent seen LeVars or Brents yet. But yeah thats a bad-a picture. =]

Working on Leverage inspired and stirred up all those weird things in my brain that make me an artist. In an effort to maintain the creative momentum I experienced while working on the show, I went directly from wrapping my episode to working on this series of short stories I've wanted to write ...
I do agree the future is pretty cool, but I think it gets a little too outta hand sometimes. Not the good things, but the bad things. It makes me a little nervous of where the world is going to be in, say 20 or 30 years. Everyone is going to become so lazy because we'll have robots doing everything for us. It has its perks and downfalls. But for right now the good things of the future arent bad. Like the filmaking process. It has become a lot easier than back then.
end user: greetings from the future of filmmaking
I took a few minutes away from working on Leverage and writing my short stories to turn in an End User column that's all about some of the stuff that's been on my mind since I started working on Leverage: I’m in Portland, Oregon, shooting an episode of TNT’s prime time drama, Leverage. Just abo...
Okay I didnt know where to put this so I thought I'd put it right here. I was readin on Twitter that you said Toy Soldiers is on Encore. Must I say... that is the most kick ass movie ever. My 2nd all-time favorite movie. It was one of the first ones I found when I started collecting your movies. And you totally rocked that earing Wil. Whenever I saw the earing I freaked out because it was so awesome. Do you still have the hole? Gosh I hate putting this on here in front of everyone but you were so good looking in that movie. AND I read in a magazine that you had had a girlfriend at that time and you were in love for the first time. It was so sweet! Okay sorry I just wanted to say that because I had always wondered if you ever flipped through channels and saw your movies on tv. I bet its such a cool feeling! Do you and Anne ever watch them? By the way...RIP MICHAEL JACKSON. He inspired me so much and will forever be one of my favorite performers and the King Of Pop. He's a legend.

I forgot to give you the link to this f***ing awesome picture I found. I saw you had posted one like this on flickr, but this is a different one. It looks like its made by the same person though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v619/CoasterChild/WILWHEATONAH.jpg

Thats awesome. I agree, I write songs and I kinda go off into another place and put myself in positions that I havent been in to make the song sound right. And it usually turns out pretty good. And with the Gordie's son thing, I ALWAYS find things with that movie or any other of your movies that are so ironic because of what your doing now. And I found out something today that I read in the book I'm reading called "Lost In Hollywood:The Fast Times And Short Life Of River Phoenix" by John Glatt. It said that the director of The Mosquito Coast had considered you to play the part of Charlie Fox, but gave it to River because he looked more like Harrison's son. And I just wanna bring this up because it cracked me up, I guess River (voluntarily) lost his virginity while filming Stand By Me and came back and bragged about it to all you boys. I just laughed my ass off. And you like fixed the games in the lobby so you could play them for free. And a bunch of other michevious stuff. I didnt know you guys were so rebellious!

Just sing the first part of the song "Babe" by the Styx to Anne. It seems like it would work very good for those kinda situations. =]
LEVERAGE: day five
"It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Wil Wheaton," the assistant director said. I threw my hands up in the air and yelled into the sky: "NOOOOOOO!!!" I sadly rode back in the van to base camp, packed up my stuff, said my goodbyes, and took my time walking through downtown back to my...
NOOOOO! Thats too long! Well my birthday is close to the end of August so that will work out okay. =] It sounds like you had a very awesome time and it sucks that it has to end. It seems like everyone on the set likes you as well as you like them. Hope you had a WONDERFUL time!

Thats awesome. I'm glad you got to see your sister and hang out with her. I need to do the same with mine! I should be sometime soon. I went into a bookstore today myself. I looked for Dancing Barefoot or Happiest Days Of Our Lives and they didnt have either in the store but they could order Dancing Barefoot for me but we didnt live in that town so I didnt do it. Thats what I had to do to get Just A Geek, have them order it. That was a few months ago though and I think the same store but a different location. You really need to pursuade your people to put your books in more stores! And HAPPY FATHERS DAY WIL. I sure wish my Dad was here. He died in 2005, I was 9. Well anyway cant wait till the show airs!
LEVERAGE: day four
Woke up early yesterday and wrote for about an hour. Met Rogers and walked to a fantastic place for breakfast (forget the name of the place, but President Clinton ate there once and they have something named after him on the menu.) Had a delicious tofu scramble thing, and the most sensational Fr...
AH! That was fn hilarious. NEVER FEED A DOG CHOCOLATE WHILE HE WEARS A TIN FOIL HAT IN THE MICROWAVE. That is so random. Thats what makes it so funny. Its like never put a rattle snake in a coffee pot while he has an Indiana Jones hat on. Well, that wont end up in tragedy. So, therefore, its not funny. AT ALL.
What Happens if You Feed a Dog Chocolate While he Wears a Tin Foil Hat in the Microwave
I think it was about a year ago that I recorded this episode of Cavalcade of Comedy for Seth MacFarlane. I've been hoping to see it for months, but it wasn't until today that I read a post at CliqueClack TV about it, and BAM there it was.
I bet that book is really funny. Only a genius would come up with a story like that. =] Can NOT wait until that episode comes out. Had never heard of Leverage.. but I guess I'm a new fan now!
LEVERAGE: day three
I wasn't on the call sheet today, but I went to the set anyway, because I felt like I was welcome to visit if I wasn't in the way, and because we were shooting at the Portland Art Museum, and I was planning to go see their collection on my day off. I slept much later than I've been able to since...
Oh my gosh I wish that they would leave that in the episode! I bet that was hilarious. Thats good that the whole set looked so normal that someone didnt know it WAS a set. I wonder if she ever figured it out...
LEVERAGE: day two
Today's on-set report actually begins with a moment from yesterday afternoon that was so unexpected, I'm still wrapping my head around it. I obviously can't go into any details about the plot or characters, so you'll just have to use your imagination to construct what the set looked like. I can ...
Your takes on characters always seem right Wil. Thats just how talented you are! I love it because I'm an aspiring actress and reading what you write helps me to know how I need to do things in order to prepare. Glad your still goin strong!
LEVERAGE: day one
Last night, I tried to convince my brain that it should shut the hell up and let me go to sleep early, because I had to wake up at 5am no matter what. It didn't cooperate. It sang songs to me, wrote little stories, and told me jokes until almost midnight. Yes, I am my brain's bitch. (Don't worry...
Wow so does that mean that you felt comfortable in that tight pink jump-suit type thing in Young Harry Houdini?! HA watched it today. Loved it! lol. I'm super excited cuz I remember reading Just A Geek and reading these blogs that you had written years ago when you got a new job so now I'm finally gettin to read them when they actually happen. I'm really happy for you and cant wait until the show airs.
LEVERAGE: day zero
Greetings from Portland! I'm here for the next few days to work on an episode of Leverage, playing a character who I have a few things in common with, as evidenced by something that happened earlier today during my costume fitting. The costume designer is an incredibly kind and easy going woman....
What kinda dog is Ferris? Is he the white one or black one? They're both cute. And okay, I know you and Anne named Ferris after the band Save Ferris.. but did the band Save Ferris name themselves after the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Hmm.. yeah my dogs used to get into the trash but I dont have any of my own now so I dont have to deal with that problem anymore. But I would love to have a (nice, friendly, non-dead set on killing) Rottweiler or some kinda big or decent size dog because all my life I've had small dogs. And congrats on Leverage! I had never heard of it but I looked it up on wiki and it sounded interesting.
an all too familiar scene
Sitting in my office, my brain is in that weird writer's fugue where time blurs and I take -10 to all my passive perception checks. I realize that my dog, who has spent much of the day at my feet, doing everything she can to capture my attention, isn't there. I'm not sure how long it's been sinc...
Okay of course now that I say it won't play all the way..it does. That dude is awesome. If he actually kept his Twitter account I'm definitely following him. Except it doesn't really matter if I RT him because nobody is following me so no one will read it!! Gosh I'm such a nobody.

Man! I couldnt get my computer to play but 30 seconds of this video! But what I seen was HILARIOUS!! I espicially liked it because me and Shane have the exact same pair of glasses (see pic on left). I'll just have to keep re-loading it and see if it will eventually play. Oh yeah Wil, I found this Family Guy parody of 3 Stephen King movies including Stand By Me and it was pretty funny except for the end where they make fun of how River died. I thought I'd give you the link to watch it though. http://www.tvloop.com/family-guy/show/episodes/three-kings-when-peter-reads-some-of-stephen-kings-19327 there ya go. I dont know if you've already seen it but if you haven't... well... you can now.

Lol!!! That's classic! Ha thats great. Real great. Wonder what kinda movie would have a scene like that in it... It would have to be funny though. =]
"this is magical"
I didn't know where my friend Ryan was, but it sure sounded like he was having a lot of fun. Each Twitter update he sent was more entertaining than the last, but he never managed to top this one: Mel Gibson is drunk, smoking a cigar, and wearing a viking helmet... all while on a live horse. I'm ...
