Welcome back friends! I hope that you are enjoying these last bits of summer. I've been busy with my daughter's wedding, open house and now her reception. I thought I would share a banner I created for the open house with you. It was fun to create while preparing for the festivities. Their colors were Navy, Aqua and Red. Alex loves hastags so I had to include one for her. Each rose panel alternates colors to add some variation. I... Continue reading

Welcome back friends! So... my oldest daughter is getting married. Yep... I am THAT old. LOL I've been busy getting our home ready for their open house and making a few decorations to that coordinate with her colors. Here is an A with the date on it. The A stands for their names... since they both share that as their first initial. I thought that this was fitting and with the occasion. I also thought that this would be great... Continue reading

Welcome back friends! I have one last sneak peek card or the MFT August Release... so gear up! This fun card was created using the new Bionic Bots and Four Way Chevron Cover-Up. I thought it was fun how I could mount the focal panel inside the Cover-up. This works with many of the standard shape STAX. Isn't this sweet robot darling? I stamped the image on the die cut then sponged the edges. I then pieced the body and... Continue reading

MFT has been hosting another session of Summer School... and today the lesson is all about Monochromatic projects. I love color... and this MFT series has been so fun to watch. Here is my simple contribution. I've chosen to go with grays for my card. Silver plays into that too. I really love these balloon and the wavy "strings". Glitter is used to create highlights. The Sequins also lend to the floating feel of the balloons. Boy did it feel... Continue reading

Prayer is an important part of my life as it is with many others. I have a lot of faith in God and his plan... and this sentiment conveys that. I must admit that there have been times over the past few months, as we've been in transition to our new home, that things have felt impossible. Yet all has turned out OK so far. So I created this quick, warm card for a friend who is struggling. I used... Continue reading

Sometimes you just need to say thanks... and sometimes you have to think outside of the box to stamp for a man. This box is a great gender neutral gift box... and perfect for a sea loving fella. Why did I choose these colors for this sweet Pillow Box? Well, these are about as realistic as I can get with what is local (last week it was local at least) on Fidalgo Island. Lots of Purple (Pure Plum)starfish... the occasional... Continue reading

Summer School is in session over on the MFT Blog and I have a fun card to share that is all about today's lesson on Focal Point! The main area where an embellishment or image stamp is placed is a focal point. I've found that there are some ways to make them stand out. I love to give clues to where your eyes should look. Centering an image or sentiment on a card is a great way of doing this.... Continue reading

I love creating backgrounds. Almost any stamp set can be used to create a beautiful background or custom background paper. This is one of the many reasons I fell in love with stamping... and ink... and cardstock, oh my! I've created this fun Terrific Ties card for the MFT May Creative Challenge... as it's all about backgrounds. I may even have a few tips. ;) I find that establishing a pattern in some way help when I use more graphic... Continue reading

Hi Friends, welcome back! That time has come to give you that last peek... but it's not a sneak because these new MFT products are now available for sale! I thought it would be fun to show the Terrific Ties neckties in the negative space of the Die-namics Terrific Ties necktie die I tried really hard to whiten up my white cardstock around the ties but then I lost detail. So please excuse the grayish white. I LOVE this newer... Continue reading
