That was great, I needed a little laugh in my afternoon.
go on... scan it...
My niece joined Team Human yesterday. I was told I had to buy practical gifts for the shower (which we didn't have) but she has a Wonder Woman onesies waiting for her for when she comes home. My loot over at think geek includes the following JLA blocks onsies , Starfleet cadet onsies & rock paper lizard spock bib.
My question, how long do I wait before I get her the Giant Foam Polyhedral Dice set?
The Force Will Be With Him...
My nephew will be joining Team Humans sometime in July, so today we're having a baby shower for my little sister (who, at 33, isn't little, bit if you're a big brother or sister, you know what I mean.) My brother in law is awesome, even though he's Dallas Cowboys SuperFan Number One Top Guy Fore...
I agree that you were in the right to be upset and I that I don't get the camping out for signatures.
I was 2nd in line for a signing you did at PAX one year and felt really weird being in line that early. So I really don't get out people justify camping out for hours waiting like that.
if you cut me, i will bleed
Pretty much all of Comicon was awesome. However, there was one thing that was decidedly not awesome, and though I had initially decided not to talk about it in public, it's bothered me since it happened, so I wrote about it on G+ earlier today. I'm cross posting it here, though, because it's imp...
I agree with everyone, well said. I'm 26, I got my master's degree, I'm working at a job I like and while I'm not making nearly enough money I know I'm lucky to have my job and I'm damn lucky to be doing a job I like.
a point of clarification
Yesterday, I overheard some twentysomethings complaining about how much they hated their jobs. After a few minutes, it became clear that none of them took high school seriously, and at least a couple of them had dropped out of community college because it was, in their words, "too hard." I Twitt...
Just wanted to add another thank you to the list. As a new librarian it means a lot to know that there is still a lot of support out there for libraries. I grew up a reader and I love what I do as a librarian helping people find what they are looking for, whether it's a book or a picture for a school report. It's worth it.
librarians are awesome
I was recently invited to participate in an awesome literacy project, and I wanted to share an excerpt from my contribution: I want to take a moment and say thank you to librarians, because it was a librarian who made me fall in love with reading. In third or fourth grade, part of our curriculu...
Wil,
I feel like the lobby Thursday night had already felt that spirit of joining together to game. My friends and I came down to play some Munchkin and before we even started playing we had invited five other people to sit and play who had never played before. After that first game we split into two games so more people could comfortably play. This is when you stopped by to see us using our Lego men as levels.
It really was a time to come together and play games. I met a bunch of great people over the weekend by playing games.
greetings from the future (and 38000 feet), with a quick story from PAX
I'm posting this from an airplane that is currently 37966 feet above Port Stanley, Ontario. It's -78 Fahrenheit about 7 feet from where I'm sitting. And I am currently on the internet, while my position is updated on Google Maps in front of me in almost real time. There's just enough turbulence ...
