Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending the new CINE AW '13 collection launch by plastic vegan shoe giant Melissa Shoes at their M Dreams Sydney store. The story itself smells exactly like the shoes - delicious candy sweetness with heels, boots and flats lined from every wall. I immediately got pulled into the hypnotic sparkle of the new J. Maskrey x Melissa flats. Encrusted with Swarovski crystals, they come in two versions: a normal jelly flat or jelly sandal - I prefer the latter. Definitely a shoe I'm putting on my wishlist, I decided to choose the deliciously... Continue reading

Much to my delight I received a lovely package from Chanel revealing this cute little composition notebook featuring their Spring Summer '13 collection shot by the talented Karl Lagerfeld. Designed like an old composition notebook, this cute campaign brochure captures the essence of the new SS'13 collection titled Lesson of Elegance. The collection itself is made up of classic Chanel: monochromatic tweeds, diaphanous multi-coloured chiffon and richly embroidered florals are paired with bright accessories, setting the tone for the season with an airy energetic aesthetic and of course such elements of tweed, quilting and pearls play strongly throughout the collection... A show that definitely was a standout for me during last week's MBFWA was Shakuhachi's new spring summer 2013/14 collection titled Cyber Barbarella - where space age grunge and floaty feminine florals collide. A balanced mix between sports luxe metallic and perspex pieces alongside floral camisoles, neopreen dresses and figure hugging PU bustiers - Cyber Barbarella takes you on a whimsical journey through time and space and back again. Ever one for anything floral, feminine or shiny... can I just say I WANT EVERYTHING. This will be another collection that I will be jumping onto as soon as its released!... Continue reading

Ladylike glamour oozed at the Kate Sylvester MBFWA Spring Summer 13/14 collection titled The Last Sitting where front rowers were treated with a signature baseball placed on top of a portrait of Marilyn Monroe alluding to the collections muses. The collection itself played with flirty fun summer dresses alongside a strong sharp masculinity in the more sports influenced leather pieces. It is this sweet femininity and sporty masculinity that conveys the two sides of Marilyn's character which is successfully portrayed throughout the collection - and the laid back chic that has become synonomous with the label remains strong. I found... Continue reading

The Alice McCall Les Galeries de Poison Cruise 13/14 collection takes inspiration from German botanist illustrator Ernst Haekel and the intricate Art Nouveau jewels of French artist René Jules Lalique translating into a colour palette of softly washed tones of bone, seashell pink and champagne. Rich silhouettes subtly miic elements of oceanic creatures like the smokey plumes of silk dresses imitating bell shaped jellyfish, circle cut silk jumpsuits replicate sea urchins and sheer ruffles float like sea plants. Alice McCall's Cruise collection encapulates the very essence of her label: feminine, floating, subtle sexuality and above all an embracement of the... Continue reading

Without a doubt one of the highlights of MBFWA this week was the Romance Was Born show on Monday evening - the new collection titled Mushroom Magic alluded to a psychedelic wonderland taking inspiration from Disney's fairytales with a stunning collaboration with Tanya Schultz, the artist behind PIP and POP who created a one off art installation piece that featured as a centrepiece for the show. Schultz’s brightly coloured sugar and sand mandalas have a cosmic feel and the spirit of the late sixties and early seventies is evoked. This is referenced in the choice of silhouette; which features kaftan... Continue reading

Wearing: Bardot shirt, Finders Keepers skirt (similar here), Sol Sana boots, MinkPink bag, From St Xavier rings, Le Specs sunglasses Perhaps one of the only times you'll see me wear a buttoned up collared top, I actually loved the softness of this Bardot shirt paired with this cute skirt by Finders Keepers and the pop of neon just finishes the look! These amazing boots by Sol Sana are incredible and at a steal too - definitely one of Australia's underrated shoe brands out there. And I'm so excited that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is just around the corner, I'm working... Continue reading

Country Road's Winter 2013 campaign conjures images of autumn leaves and cottage life - the collection is comprised with mostly a monochromatic palette with a focus on prints and textures creating shape and form around the female body. My favourites include the casual yet chic leopard shirt, deliciously warm coats and snuggly beanies - this rad collection drops in stores tomorrow. While many of you might not know, I'm a huge fan of Tokyo Fashion - for how daring, colourful, on trend and most of the time OTT nature of Japanese fashion. Tokyo and Japan as a nation manages to fascinate and inspire me in every way - the people are lovely and so welcoming, the fashion is insane and the food is to die for. Being part Japanese perhaps thats where my pastel love has subconsciously spawned from and I can't wait to be visiting Tokyo again later this year in October for Japan Fashion Week. I've picked out some... Continue reading

Introducing the much anticipated Karl Lagerfeld for Melissa collaboration; featuring ice cream cones and other deliciousness. While some might say the ice cream heel is too kitsch, I say it fits Melissa's sweet brand aesthetic perfectly and heck it looks adorably chic! Definitely my favourite from the first four looks part of a collaborative deal that we'll see roll over the next four season. What are your thoughts on the collaboration? Too plain, too sweet or perfect for Melissa? Follow me: Bloglovin | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Pinterest | Tumblr Continue reading

Wearing: Talulah Divine Stone dress, Ladakh jacket, Spurr heels, From St Xavier clutch, Atmos&Here necklace, From St Xavier rings, Le Specs sunglasses This is my second look which was shot for my The Iconic Magazine blogger feature and by far one of my favourites - the mystical print on this dress by Talulah siren called to me while the cute peplum twist made me felt more comfortable wearing such a figure hugging dress. Paired with some glitter punk heels by Spurr and this A-MAY-ZING clutch by From St Xavier (which is perhaps one of the most underrated Australian accessories designers... Continue reading

Wearing: Ladakh jacket, Keepsake the Label dress, Atmos&Here necklace, From St Xavier cuff, Kato rings, Sol Sana heels This was a fun shoot for The Iconic Magazine which involved me styling 4 looks around this sweet Ladakh studded jacket - we shot this during a scorching 34 degree (that's in celcius!) and each time we finished shooting a look, we had to peel it off me straight afterwards! The new Iconic Magazine Autumn/Winter issue is out now and I'm featured on page 40 so if you happen to get your hands on a copy be sure to send in some... Continue reading

Reading the first couple of pages of The Vogue Factor immediately transported me back to May 2012 when the shocking news broke that Vogue Australia's Kirstie Clements had been unceremonially sacked making ripples in the Australian fashion world particularly sparking discussions and heated debates on Twitter. The book itself is well written, totalling 16 chapters, with each chapter discussing or focusing on a specific issue or time period during Clements' 25 year career at Vogue; from her early years at the front desk as a receptionist, to shooting Crown Princess Mary and Prince Fredrick of Denmark and wrangling Karl Lagerfeld... Something exciting is brewing at Chasewood Chase Sydney and it's called the Fashion New Year; an inaugural fashion design competition calling all budding fashion designers with the chance for the winner to be rewarded with an internship with one of Australia's fashion greats, Lisa Ho. Secret Garden is the title for the new Casper & Pearl AW '13 marks the labels' first debut collection; evoking images of dancing and exploring through an English garden filled with wildflowers and crisp autumn sunshine. The collection itself is without a doubt feminine highlighted by soft sihoulettes while peplum and hand embroidery brings together the essence of the brand itself - girly, 70s vibe with a dash of vintage inspiration while still being relevant in today's context. Definitely a label I can't wait to start working with and featuring on my blog, this brand is definitely one to watch.... Continue reading

The latest Romance Was Born collection blows my mind in so many ways. Floral delight, check. Fucking awesome prints, check. Wearability with RWB quirkiness, check. Lil Lord Fauntleroy AW'13 definitely ticks all the boxes! Inspired by the Johnston Collection, Staffordshire porcelain figurines and Frances Hodgson Burnett’s heartwarming rags to riches tale of the innocent Little Lord Fauntleroy, Romance Was Born's new collection titled Lil Lord Fauntleroy is one of their best yet. Definitely one to tickle my fancy, with delicious unique feminine, floral prints and pastel shades - one of my favourite prints in the collection, taken inspiration from the... Continue reading

Wearing: Stolen Girlfriends Club skull dress, Ruby coat & bag, Mimco pearl choker, Yves Saint Laurent Arty ring, Bahagia stack rings While making room on my external harddrive I uncovered some cool shots from New Zealand Fashion Week 2012 shot by my sister from another mister Olivia from Lust for Life. Fusing two of my favourite NZ designers, this outfit retains two aspects of fashion that sings to me; rock n roll grunge aesthetic thanks to Stolen Girlfriends Club and super sweet feminine chic from Ruby. It's been overcast, wet and chillier in Sydney these past days and this outfit... Continue reading

Wearing: Shakuhachi Nouveau dress, Me oh My unicorn necklace, Jeffrey Campbell lucite heels, 2 Lyn & Tony clutch, YSL Arty ring, Isharya Nile ring With a classical setting as our canvas, shot on the steps of the Art Gallery of NSW I felt kind of like a magical princess tottering around in my favourite JC lucite heels and amazingly luxe Shakuhachi lace/mesh maxi dress. I had fun playing around with the afternoon sun and the shadows cast by the lace hem of this divine dress as well as the usual silly antics when shooting. One of my favourite new necklaces...
