Photo credits: all taken from Doll Eyes Tumblr One of my favourite emerging labels to date - Doll Eyes is an experimental fashion collaboration between designers Elena Kanagy-Loux and Stella Rose Saint Clair. Elena and Stella I've been fans of for some time now both of which inspire me with their artistic talent and cute yet quirky style and designs. The label itself oozes with pastel, faux fur softness, a touch of kawaii cuteness and touches of nudity and sexiness - the balance is just right. Having only just launched in Feb 2014 I'm excited to see what more insanely... Continue reading

I'm so excited to say that I'll be off to Japan in a few weeks time and I cannot wait to shoot some amazing editorials for the blog. Think cherry blossoms and pink sea of flowers underneath Mount Fuji, kawaii fashion and of course amazing food. Japan has always been a happy place for me - not only is it part of my ancestry but the cleanliness, efficiency, delicious food and amazing fashion makes Japan an amazing place to visit. I've been so busy with work, last week was insanely crazy working on The Woolmark Company's collaboration with L'uomo Vogue... Continue reading

Wearing: Lee denim dress (c/o David Jones), River Island necklace, Friend of Mine claw boots (similar), Saint Laurent Arty ring, vintage ring This week I am teaming up with David Jones for a sweet Denim Challenge to celebrate 'Denim Week' - I chose this cute Lee dress that has the perfect mix of laid back cool and rock n roll. A nice casual day look, I decided to pair this cute dress with my Friend of Mine claw boots and a statement necklace to add a bit of colour to the dual tonal outfit. I'm excited to be working along... Continue reading

Nicola Finetti's AW '14 collection aptly titled Dreamland explores the notions of fluidity in texture and structure through the diverse patterns used in the collection which helps transport the voyeur into a number of different landscapes. It's the shapes and silhouettes that tantalise my inner unicorn. I'm particularly enamoured with gold floral/leaf motif - something I can't wait to shoot soon and see in person. Simply stunning collection. Follow me: Bloglovin | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Pinterest | Tumblr | Shop Continue reading

Agent Provocateur bra, Topshop heart necklace, Victoria's Secrets Strawberries & Champagne lotion, Mel by Melissa flats My Valentine's Day consisted of working during the day and spending the evening/weekend with the boy - who had a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent to my office (successfully making me feel loved and spoilt no doubt making the rest of the girls in the office slightly envious). He also gave me a beautiful necklace and had a relatively relaxed evening. Above are just some of my Valentine's Day essentials - this is by far one of my favourite lingerie sets I've purchased from... Continue reading

Wearing: Lady Petrova dress, Alexander McQueen cuff, Lady Petrova floral headpiece Phew! It's finally the holidays - I'm so excited to get two weeks break from work, which means planning my trip to Japan later next year, spending time with the family and the boy and hopefully shooting some fun summer editorials for the blog. A little bit of an update on my life since I last blogged - I finally got a tattoo that I've been wanting to get for a long time: beautiful roses on my forearm. I got it done at Hunter & Fox Tattoo by the... Continue reading

Wearing: Lady Petrova; floral dress , cape, floral headpiece, Her Pony platform shoes, Wheels & Dollbaby pearl necklace, Alexander McQueen cuff, own crystal ring, Alice & Leon ring As promised here is a cute little shoot I did in collaboration with my girl Lady Petrova (possibly one of the raddest maidens around) shot by Xiaohan of xssat. Sheer capes, floral detailing, delightful hydrandrea headpiece and floral everything just makes this outfit so exciting to shoot! Usually not one for capes, I decided to wear this Lady Petrova cape over her floral dress which had this really cute shoulder cape paired... Continue reading

Wearing: Romance Was Born jacket, dress, clutch, Alexander McQueen pearl cuff and red leather wrap, My Pony customised platforms. By far one of my favourite outfits to date - as soon as I saw this colourful wonderland of a collection by Romance Was Born back in April at MBFWA I just knew I had to get my hands on really anything from the exclusive Pip & Pop print. This outfit embodies everything I love - free spirited freedom of expression, sugary sweetness colour that just evokes happiness. It's definitely a nice weekend or casual fridays sartorial choice - the jacket... Continue reading

Lush lace embroidery, floral silks, soft tulles all with a delicious pastel palette - Sisters of the Crown is my girl Lady Petrova's latest collection. Not only is this entire collection utterly incredibly amazing and perfect for any fellow unicorn - I had the pleasure of collaborating with Lady P on a mini editorial series shooting some of my favourite pieces from her store and I can't wait to show you in the next couple of weeks. One clue - think floral, pretty and feminine. Celebrating the launch of her new online store - I'll be teaming up with Lady... Continue reading

By far one of my favourite collections to date by Aussie label Romance Was Born titled Mushroom Magic (which I had the pleasure of viewing during MBFWA earlier in the year - a delicate and decadent collaboration between RWB and Tanya Schultz of Pip&Pop) it's the playful childlike colours and annotations that makes me love the exclusive Pip&Pop prints in the collection. Pastel pinks, purples, reds and oranges with hints of fluro yellows and blues - I'm utterly obsessed with this print! Like a moth to a flame, I knew I had to get my hands on particular pieces in... Wearing: Stolen Girlfriends Club dress, Saben bag, Alice & Leon matching necklace and ring, Chanel ring, vintage shoes and sunglasses By far one of my favourite things I picked up during my time in Auckland was without a doubt this amazing Stolen Girlfriends Club death moth dress in aqua - or as my mother calls it my "Avatar (Pandora)" dress. Pairing it with this amazingly soft, limited edition mint bag by Saben (another amazing kiwi label) is like a match made in heaven! Nothing quite beats comfortably clothing that still makes you feel great and this is my go to... Continue reading

"Spring 2014 is a continuation on from Resort but this season the collection is more polished and sophisticated with hints of that playfulness from the previous season." - Shaikha Noor When I first opened the latest Noon by Noor's lookbook showcasing their Spring '14 collection - I'm going to be frank, I wasn't sure what I was expecting. Having been clearly living under a rock I've have yet to come across Noon by Noor [editor's note: this appears to be semi-justified it seems they're a fairly new designer duo from Bahrain] I was pretty blown away: before my eyes was... Photos by Esteban La Tessa For the past couple of months I've had the pleasure of interning at a pretty awesome pr agency located in Sydney - this has been something I've been keen to get stuck into and wonderfully the internship has now turned into a full time position said pr agency (*cue audience applause*). My boss is great, the team is great, the work is fun/challenging/exciting and you know what - everyone is cool with my hair and every facet of me. I'm not going to lie, that was a huge deal with me - I didn't want... Continue reading

Wearing: Wheels & Dollbaby dress & pearl necklace, Topshop Unique heels, Alice&Leon ring I had the pleasure of wearing this delightful dress during my time in Auckland for NZFW a few weeks ago and just knew I had to shoot it properly for the blog. Usually I'm not one for body con dresses however the lovely girls at Wheels & Dollbaby insisted I try this number on and I came out feeling sexy and incredibly feminine and amazing. The only way I can describe it is feeling very Dita Von Teese! What I love about Wheels & Dollbaby is that... Continue reading

New Zealand Fashion Week 2013: Stolen Girlfriends Club Dirty Magic AW14 Without a doubt one of my personal highlights of the week - flying over and getting to hang out with the cool guys behind Stolen Girlfriends Club, knowing how fucking rad Marc and Dan are and how amazingly sweet their runway show will be (and their afterparties) is always mad fun. SGC's AW'14 collection titled Dirty Magic is a beautiful exploration of the dark arts with splashes of velvet, tassle and paisley print scattered throughout the collection. As always attention to detail is immaculate - thanks to the styling... Continue reading

Otsu- Eugénie - Blue Blank - Jimmy D - Underground Sundae - New Zealand Fashion Week 2013: Underground Exhibition Another highlight for me was the Underground Showcase - a cool art installation selection of designers who were given a brief that had to basically embody their label aesthetic while utilising the space to the best capacity. Of course I was stoked to see Jimmy D show again - with beautiful glitter in the hair and smokey eye makeup, Jimmy D is a grunge goth's dream! Otsu a brand I've never heard of showcased an all white true art installation piece... Continue reading

New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 Day 1: Hailwood The last time I saw Hailwood showcase at NZFW, their collection had a very sports luxe feel with a heavy focus on their horse head logo so I didn't really know what to expect this time round. What I got was a cohesive, strong yet feminine and elegant collection that really surprised me - the show started with more casual pieces such as sweet Hailwood jumpers and tshirts then gradually morphed into more elegant evening pieces. What I so love about Hailwood is how fucking girlie yet still sexy every piece is!... Continue reading

New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 Day 1: Coop by Trelise Cooper Without a doubt one of my favourite shows for Day 1 of NZFW, Trelise Cooper's diffusion line Coop is everything I want in my life - pretty pinks, pastels, metallics, pvc, prints and amazingly sharp detailing. A totally different direction since last year's Coop nzfw show - it really feels like Trelise has stepped it up to really market her diffusion label to Gen Y crowd (my sources say this is probably due to a new in house designer who has stepped in to head this collection and my... New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 Day 1: Twenty-Seven Names This relatively new NZ label has its own cult following, known for its preppy yet feminine aesthetic you can see why its beloved by so many. This season is filled with cute print chiffon sundresses, rich red/gold matching print sets and a new take on leopard print in the form of navy and white creating a solid collection styled with bowler hats, loafers and scalloped ankles socks. Heavily influenced by the effortless chic style of Parèe, I love the lack of monochrome that has become so synonomous with typical New Zealand... Continue reading

Without a doubt one of my favourite artists of all time, I caught up with my girl Chelsea Wolfe in the lead up to the release of her third studio album Beauty is Pain. If you need a refresher or want to hear how she's evolved read my last interview with her on her album Ἀποκάλυψις. Hope you enjoy! LBB: Hey Chelsea, I've had the pleasure of seeing you live late last year in Sydney - hearing you live was truly mesmerising! You've been touring right around the globe since then, what has been your most memorable gig? Wolfe: We... Continue reading

Between my PR job and Little Black Book - I've got my hands full. Let me tell you juggling two jobs and still finding time to be social, to keep my blog and everything in check and up to date is hard work. So when I finally got round to checking out the new Phillip Lim for Target collection I was pretty blown away at how well and strong this diffusion line is. Most diffusion lines have really terrible designs and accessories that have no resemblance to the namesake label - this very much stems straight from Phillip Lim 3.1... Continue reading

I am pleased to announce I will be attending New Zealand Fashion Week again this year - I'm super excited to be able to fly over and see some of the best designers New Zealand has to offer as well as catch up with some of my favourite labels and mates. I will also be working with super sweet NZ label Saben an incredibly chic kiwi accessories label that I will be working with while I am in town To be frank I'm so glad that Saben got in touch with me as they're a label I've yet to come... Introducing the deliciously new Wheels & Dollbaby SS13 campaign titled Social Aristocracy, one of my favourite collections to date, the collection is filled with cute satin cocktail dresses, signature pencil skirts and glamourous floral laces that resonate old Hollywood glamour. This season's inspiration is drawn "from the art of detailed Japanese hand-painting, reminiscent of 1940's silk kimino designs. The collection is an acumination to social nobility and frivolity". The instantly recognisable Wheels & Dollbaby glamour and edge is evident throughout the sophisticated new season pieces - constructed veritably from sleekly fluid satin, diaphanous silk, Frence lace, Bardot gingham and an... Image source: Tumblr What I love about the internet is the unlimited source of inspiration floating around as well as the uncanny ability to find like minded people every single day. Finding your own niche, finding the same posse, the same like minded people in the virtual world provides a somewhat satisfying feeling. This is what I've managed to find via Tumblr, Instagram and all the other social media sites - there is a level of anominity yet there is a strange kinship and friendship that occurs. Distance and space doesn't matter; it is a shared interest or passion that... Continue reading
