I am a bit envious that you are given such a gentle transition from winter to spring. Here in Savannah we awoke one morning to 75 degree weather and didn't know what hit us! It's a heady experience, but decidedly jarring!

Hello, dear readers! I have to apologize for my absence last week--the planets collided and resulted in me catching ill, having work due, and preparing for Open Studio all at the same time. Sadly the blog fell by the wayside! But now I'm back, never fear. Friday night was Open... Continue reading

In the absence of snow down here in Georgia, I've been making a flurry of snowy white doilies. http://redhen.typepad.com/little-red-hen/2011/02/this-moment-1.html

Today you get a little glimpse into the inner workings of my "studio space" (I don't actually have room for a dedicated studio in my apartment, so things seem to spread throughout the living room...). This winter I finally got sick of storing my fabric stash in plastic tubs, so... Continue reading

Here's what I've been so busily working on lately! The first in a collection of three sweaters designed and knit for my Senior Portfolio. My inspiration comes from a blend of Scandinavian folk design and British country style. The sweaters are all for girls, and this one is size 5-6.... Continue reading

Here he is! I love having a finished product to share. Quickly knit up by my own pattern, this sheepy little guy is the first completed piece for my Senior Portfolio. He's one of a collection in a few different colourways (but blackfaced sheep have always been my personal faves!).... Continue reading

I love that Miss A can make squeezing a duck look so fun! (and very impressed that said duck will allow itself to be squeezed!)

Last March, design*sponge featured Emerson (of emersonmade) and Ryan's house in coastal New Hampshire. I was so taken by their design aesthetic, and especially by the most beautiful and well-organized pantry I have ever seen. image from design*sponge When I'm feeling dreamy about a future farm house, I return to... During September-November I was enrolled in Advanced 3D Fibers, a class that teamed up the Fibers and Architecture departments to design a memorial site for the slaves who worked the Leconte-Woodmanston Plantation an hour south of Savannah. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the site of... Continue reading

Introducing...Katine! The newest addition to my fibers family. She was a sweet Christmas gift, and how Santa got her box down the chimney I'll never know! Katine is a Kromski Prelude with an 18" wheel. She came completely unassembled, and I enjoyed putting her together. I now know exactly what... Continue reading
