Converted 2 3rd gen iPods into external HDs, great stuff. Recently I turned a 1998 Dell laptop that was too slow for anything into my remote motion-sending camera to keep my cats off the couch - best use of old technology for me! Other than that, when I buy new I try to buy refurbished or from recycled parts.
