this blog is dedicated to Rachel my beloved siamese sister. well, we're not really, but we might as well have been conjoined by the brain. we have the same taste in almost EVERYTHING!!! i kid you not...and we've been reunited for the first time this year! why yes i am gushing over her, because she is awesome like me, so that makes her doubly awesome. harharhar, just kidding about my awesome-ality, but she really is one cool chick. she is the only one who has been egging me on to write here. and after another mini hibernation, here i am!... i just wanted to start by saying...SCHOOL IS CRAZY! i love that i get to go to school to pursue my passion...i feel so privileged, but at the same time--dang, i hate being swamped with a million projects. we are only human! so since we're being worked like horses, it's resulted in some happy results (i do so love redundancy). so i've decided i'm going to start posting up my works, good and bad just to put myself "out there." so lately, i've been going print-crazy using different techniques. we had a youth camp a few weeks ago, and we... No, heck no, not laughing out loud. I have never and will never use "lol" in place of "hahahahaha." Period. If you use it, fine. I just feel like when you spell it out, you get more of the emphasis, just by seeing how many "ha's" you actually put in. That's called effort baby. :} ANYWAY, the "LOL" in which I'm referring to is ladies and gentlemen, Liberty of London. Oh LOL, I declare you as my soul mate and I don't care who hears! I heart you so much, it's unbearable! I feel like you "get" me! LOL currently... Continue reading

well hello mateys! it has again been a long while since i've posted is my trend :( i've decided that i simply must share my latest findings that i'm extremely excited about, but first, a new development is occurring in the horizon of the fashion trend. i predict a lot of hot colors, safari/african-batik/tropicana styles to be the "it" factor this summer. hold on to your boots! i fell in love with these Cynthia Vincent wedges and had to procure a pair for myself! true, they are Cynthia Vincent for Target, but who cares?! also, i wouldn't be able... so yeah, it's been a million lightyears since i've posted...too much drama. things should be quiet for a long while--i very much hope. i'm considering, maybe, to make it a resolution to blog more. so let's kick it off by reminiscing my super-fab family vacay to Cancun from last week! yes, family vacations can be super fun and a great way to bond with the 'rents and the sibsters. so it all started off a few months ago...(((cue clouds of haze signaling a flashback and sparkley music))) my mom grabbed one of those suspicious-too-good-to-be-true faxes that promise an all-inclusive trip... If I knew a lick about running a restaurant, I would love to open up a classy restaurant geared for the romantical types. The atmosphere would be hushed whispers and the glow of candlelight would be bouncing off the walls, and Billie Holiday could be heard crooning over the clinking of silverware on china...ahh...I could almost smell the sizzling pan-seared wild salmon with mango chutney...MMMMM!!! I'd also really love to open a boutique selling: whimsical art, women and children's clothing, random tchotkes and bric-a-brac...

I've found my theme song! I've loved Sufjan Stevens "since Easters" now, and have almost all of his albums except for his Avalanche one, and I never even bothered to look at the tracks. However, tonight all of a sudden, I recalled a friend telling me a couple of years ago that one of his songs reminded her of me. Well, for non-creative but obvious reasons. No offense to my friend. :) The song is called The Vivian Girls Are Visited in the Night by Saint Dargarius and His Squadron of Benevolent Butterflies. It's less than two minutes long and... I've been on a mini-hiatus...stuff in life happens. It was an ordeal and I hope not to go there again any time soon... ANYWAY! Rewinding a bit, so as I put in one of my past posts, I was thinking about going to the Renegade fair...only I am too much of a Potter fan to miss the movie on opening weekend. Afterall, I had just finished the 6th book two days before it opened. So I was pretty amped! I thought the movie was great even though they curiously changed a few things that make me wonder how they'll recover... Continue reading

Yeah, there can't be just one. Music from the 90's bring a few of these to mind: Run-Around by Blues Traveler The Way by Fastball Wicked Games by Chris Isaak Babylon by David Gray Jumper (and other songs) by Third Eye Blind No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album... I don't necessarily think these define music of the 90's per-se, but I think they definitely represent a little bit of it in a nut-shell.

Remember that light blue Jesus shirt I bought? Well I was bummed to find a hole right smack dab on the front of it. So I called around to see if any of the local stores still had any, but to my dismay, no one carried them any more! But lo, I checked the tag that had a website on it! You should check it out! Goodie Two Sleeves has some funny shirts. And so I found the shirt, only they also carried it as a V-neck in heather gray! Much more my style. The light blue, I must admit,... Continue reading

For the past few nights, every time I lay down in bed, my head swirls with words that I don't know that just pop up out of no where. I don't watch TV much and haven't gotten a chance to read it's unclear where these words are emerging from. I think I should start keeping a little notebook on my nightstand to keep everything down. And then maybe because I'm manic, but I just can't handle falling asleep without knowing the meaning of the word, so I reach for my cell phone and google the defintion! I guess my... Continue reading

I've been working on this pennant banner for B-boy's nursery tirelessly for a few weeks now, and I'm glad to say it's done! Because after about the 5th triangle, blanket stitching gets old--really fast. I'll post up the picture once I hang it up in his room. I'm also excited that I just got these things from LittleRobot's shop! The Heart Revealed - DIY Paper Theater I'm SOOoOoOo uber excited to put this together! AND The Tiger Tamer - Paper Jumping Jack Yes! Puppets! They're just too cool for school! You should definitely check Lindsey's shop out! She's a super... Continue reading

The Button Man IS mostly neat! He wasn't really creepy until you mentioned it... But I still like him. He makes me smile. :o) I sure hope I can make it out to Renegade! I've never been to a craft fair and I do love your work! I also love your fashion blog! Anyway, hope to see you there!
Oh ever had one of those mornings where you don't know if you'll make it through alive? I was feeling a lot like this bloke... I didn't know if I was gonna be able to sit through church service this morning. Well, indeed I sat, but I couldn't fight the sleep that was pulling me under to the other side. Unfortunately, we took the 2nd row, which was basically the 1st cuz no one was sitting in the row in front of us. Alas, I am lucky to have a big hubbie that I could rest my head upon... As my inaugural post, it seems quite appropriate to introduce myself here. I am not very new to the blog world...however, like with most projects, I have a very nasty habit of not continuing what I started. But this is the first time I'm attempting to maintain it! I have some favorite blogs out there that I like to look at from time to time, and they of course would not be great if they were not continually blogging! So I'm taking a cue from them. SO!, let's get started. My name is Vivian. Born and raised in San Francisco... Continue reading
