OK, where are the double breasted black suits??? Why the street clothes, which look like cashmere sweaters to me.
Somebody ought to be able to figure out whose house that is. Could it be that one of the concubines owns it?
Damning Milenio video
Consider who is at the bedside [all in Spanish, but clear enough] and remember that it was clarified previously that at least one mistress and child were also there. For the obtuse, it means each of these persons knew where Maciel died, under what circumstances and that their astonishme...
Thank you Lala and Polish Pilgrim for your prayers. Much much appreciated.
Aaron, I cannot talk to my daughter about anything to do with her situation right now. I have tried to challenge her in the past and she clings even harder to the Movement when I do. Right now she does not trust me and I am just trying to maintain a relationship with her so that if by some monumental miracle she was to leave she will feel that she can come home. However, I do know that they are changing some things on the surface like the e-mail system, but I do not trust the changes to be completely authentic. Over time I have come to realize that she is in one of the most controlling situations that an American 3gf can be in in the U.S. and that I have little to no influence in her life any more.
I also understand about VdP and his not being proactive. I know full well that it is LG that will be pulling all the strings for the Consecrated. It worries me that the decision on Regnum Christi and the 3gf is taking so long. I am praying hard that the 3gf do get separated from the LC, but in the mean time anything can happen at the hands of LG. If he says jump they say how high and thanks be to God for the previledge.
Where we are now
A reader assesses the current situation: Oddly enough neither DePaolis, nor Ghirlanda, and certainly not much of LC leadership, have caught on to the core part of the crisis [which is based on the Legionary tendency to value money and power more than souls and mercy]. Even though the Visitors b...
OK, all this talk about moving the LC/RC operation to Mexico is feeding my worst fears as the mother of an American 3gf. I can so see that scenario happening and it makes me sick in the pit of my stomach. If my daughter goes to Mexico, I'm pretty sure we will never be able to get her back home. She is drunk on Kool Aid now and if she is in that intense devotional Mexican environment, where people still think MM is an innocent, she just may end up delusional forever.
Somebody feed me a bone here and tell me that VdP will not co-mingle the cultures; at least not any more than they already are. Really, there is so much at stake here and I have absolutely no confidence in the process.
BTW, she has two new e-mail addresses. One for now and another one for October. I think that is a solid clue that the directives for 3gf will come down in October.
Please continue the prayers. I am so greatful for them. That is the one thing that helps me hold on to faith in these awful times; knowing there are good people praying for her helps me a great deal. PAX

News concerning Thornwood
It was just announced that the former Territorial Director of France, Jacobo Muñoz, will be the new Rector of Thornwood. Looking for more details. One link here: Vatican City .- The congregation of the Legionaries of Christ reported that it has decided to restructure its European presence, uni...
Dilbert,
I so know exactly how you feel. I am praying for the same thing for my 3gf. What can you say about girls/women who only cling closer when you try to show them the truth. And time is of the essence here.
As for older 3gf. They are around, we just don't see them in the U.S. very much any more. If the Church is really serious about not abandoning these women they should demand that a system of care be started as of now. That would include real health insurance. And they do have the money.
I am praying for you and your daughter.
God Bless,

Take a moment, get comfortable, and consider what this highly lauded Legionary is saying. This account is written by a Garry O'Sullivan, who attended an international conference to discuss Religious life in the Church today: Fr Thomas Williams, a well-known broadcaster priest who is a member of...
On second thought, perhaps you should get a friend who is not on the outs with RC/LC to ask for you.
The long healing process
Some weeks ago, on a thread dedicated to choosing "Legion-free" summer activities for our children, a commenter who called herself "Job's Mother" mentioned that her son had suffered from an untoward incident at a Legion camp. ...was anyone at the ConQuest camp there June 16-26, 2008? I am tryi...
Job's mother,
I used to do the registrations and money side of the retreats in another state. Do you have the old flyer for that camp? If you slyly ask the organizer of the camp who was there, she should know about all the arrangements of who was there. Usually it is the same person doing all the camps and it should actually be easy to figure out.

Title: the dragnet draws tighter
"Msgr. (William) Lynn was placed on administrative leave after a Pennsylvania grand jury report accused him of deliberately protecting abusive priests, helping them to escape both criminal prosecution and ecclesiastical discipline. He has not been accused of harming children himself, yet he has been indicted on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
...But the case is more complicated than that. The grand jury that indicted Msgr. Lynn also said clearly, in its devastating report, that it was convinced he had been carrying out policies that were approved by Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua. Although the grand jury could not find adequate evidence to support indictment of the retired Archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Bevilacqua is now living under a cloud as well."
Wouldn't you think the LC's should be starting to see that they are culpable?
Abuse in an Italian school ...

Making Summer Plans (2011)
It may be a little early, but we'll start a clearinghouse thread here concerning summer camps. Kindly provide any reliable information you have concerning organised activities for boys and/girls -- including which camps are L/R-free, and which are still associated with the Movement. We cannot ch...
Just so everyone knows, the 3gf have been told the process of reform will take 7-8 years. They were previously told that it would be 3-4 years. How long should it take to find out there is no "there" there?
Agnes, Eloise and Destiny
There are a few elements that have aligned themselves today to give me some fodder in this battle, and a snow day allows me the leisure to serve them up. (For those who believe it's been covered and that the throgged horse is dead, you may move along.) Today is the feast of Saint Agnes, virgin...
Would some of you agree that MM's writings were sometimes heterodox? If this has already been pointed out, on what thread would I find some examples?
Of course he used very traditional doctrines and concepts but unfortunately "used" is the key word here. What is not understandable is why would anyone want to read them now, in private or otherwise, knowing what we now know? Anything he did write, even if it was in line with doctrine, was motivated by intent to manipulate others so that he could fulfill selfish and sinful personal desires. Yuck.
So are we to understand that LC/RC's point of view is that if the writings become anonymous, they can pretend the context in which they were written no longer exists? Don't they remember that it was him who wrote these things?!?
Even taking in the fact that there was plagiarism going on, shouldn't everything be parsed for heterodoxy? And even once that is done, again why would anyone want to ever read it, teach it or quote it? Unless of course they are addicted to the kool-aid.
Hard-hitting Brits + Clinton
From the Catholic Herald (thanks, Deirdre): An update on the reform of the Legionaries of Christ has now been issued by Zenit, and it poses a number of questions. My readers may remember that some weeks ago I asked the question: what, after everything that has happened, is the point of the con...
