I think it would be great if markdown could support the typical table syntax used by console applications, for example; mysql +-----------+---------------------+ | id | doodads | +-----------+---------------------+ | 241 | 291 | | 639 | 871 | +-----------+---------------------+ It isn't very elegant to actually write it by hand but copy/pasting it to stackoverflow would be great.
